Rudra still couldn't believe everything could go so horribly wrong in less than one day. His father wants to end his marriage and divorce his mother. His mother attempts suicide. His brother, Om, is no longer his older self. And worst of all, his father is planning to get engaged tonight and his brother is missing. His still unconscious and sedated mother doesn't have any idea what is waiting for her when she opens her eyes.
All these thoughts criss-crossed Rudra's mind. But there was this tiny voice growing louder by the second that it is he, Rudy, who is responsible for all this. He kept thinking back to his father's words. "Our marriage is a mere formality. Omkara, Rudra, they both have disappointed me. Tumne unki parvarish achche se nahi ki." That was the reason he gave their mother for filing for divorce. That she, Jahnvi, had failed to bring up their kids properly. Rudra thought of Om, the soft, sensible, honest guy. Om's only fault, at least according to their father, was that Om was a good man, and an artist. Not a businessman, like Shivaay bhaiyaa. Their father was always jealous that his sons had not turned out like Shivaay bhaiyaa. Rudra looked up to Shivaay bhaiyaa, he was his idol. And yet, Shivaay bhaiyaa had done some despicable things. But Rudy pushed these thoughts away. No, his brothers were good people, who were above reproach.
But him? Rudy? 'I am good too.' he thought. Didn't he agree to get married to Sonia? His father's business associate's daughter only to keep his father happy? But that's where it all blew up. His and Soumya's accidental, drunken wedding's truth popped up. And everything went south from there.
But he was not responsible for that, was he? It was Soumya who was responsible for that.
Rudy was thinking all this while calling up his brother, Om. Om had returned late last night, just as Khanna had gone out to look for him. He refused to talk to anyone. He just checked up on their mother, and then locked himself in his room. Knowing his brother, both Shivaay and Rudy decided to give him his space. Rudy got up late next morning, as always, only to find out that Omkara left the mansion early. No one knew where. He was just processing what happened to his brother, when he and Annika bhaabhi found out that Svetlana is getting ready for her engagement.
Everything was going haywire. Shivaay bhaiyaa, Annika bhaabhi and himself, were all at a loss about what to do. On one side that vixen Svetlana still had the audacity to stay in the mansion and arrange her engagement, and on the other hand his father and brother were both missing. His father would presumably return in some time for getting engaged to his 'mistress'. Rudy cringed at that thought. But where was his brother?
"Kuch pata chala Bade baal vaale bhaiyaa kaha hai?" Soumya voiced out his thoughts loud. Rudy ignored her. She asked him again, "Rudy, sab theek hai?"
"Sab kaise theek ho sakta hai?" Rudy replied. He was angry now, and his anger had found its target.
"Yeh sab jo ho raha hai na, woh tumhaari vajah se ho raha hai". Rudy accused Soumya.
"Meri vajah se? But what did I do Rudy?" Soumya was genuinely surprised and a little hurt at his accusation.
"What did you do? Why did you keep that mangalsutra with you? Annika bhaabhi found that and found out all about our so called wedding." Rudy accused further.
"But Rudy, I lied to her that the mangalsutra was a college prop. It was that video clip which ratted us out. I was with you Rudy, I did as we decided, I told everyone that the wedding was a sham." Soumya urged.
"You might have told them something, but your actions didn't match your words. Jabse yeh Sonia vaala qissa huya hai, tum aise jata rahi ho jaise main tumhe majboor kar raha hu iss shaadi ko naakaarne ke liye. Humne yahi decide kiya tha na ki hum iss shaadi ko nahi maante. Toh phir tum Shivaay bhaiyaa, Om aur Annika bhaabhi ke saamne yeh kyun jata rahi thi jaise main tumhe force kar raha hu, dhokha de raha hu?" Rudy argued further "Kahi tum mann hi mann iss shaadi ko maanti toh nahi ho?" But instead of being angry at her, Rudy felt that he was angry at himself, because it seemed like he was asking himself this question. Did he believe in the validity of their marriage? Did he want Soumya to believe in the validity of their marriage?
Soumya looked hurt, and something else, an emotion which he could not understand.
"Rudy maine vahi kiya jo tumne kaha..jo humne decide kiya. Tum mujhe kaise responsible samajh sakte ho?" There were unshed tears glistening in Soumya's eyes.
"Kyunki tum ho responsible. I wish you were not there at the ceremony, I wish that stupid wedding had never happened. This is all your fault." Rudy said half-angry, half-exasperated at himself and this conversation.
Soumya looked dejected, and murmured, "You think I'm responsible...". She nodded her head absent-mindedly and went from there.
Rudra knew that he was being unfair to Soumya. Soumya was as much a victim of all this as he, himself. She had not leaked the video. Neither did she urge him or anyone to accept their wedding. Neither was she expecting anything from him. She had been a genuine friend and actually cared about everyone in the family. But Rudy ignored all this. It felt oddly satisfying to take out his anger on someone. He will deal with his guilty feelings later. But there was that thought nagging him, what was that other emotion mixed with hurt in Soumya's eyes?
However, before he could deal with these thoughts, he heard the commotion in the hall.
The source of that commotion was clear immediately. His father was all booted up. Everyone around him, his Dadi, his Chhote Papa, Shivaay bhaiyaa, Annika bhaabhi, were shocked and angry at what they were witnessing.
"I'm not going to hold up this sham marriage anymore, I will marry the woman I want to marry. Svetlana." said his father, holding out his hand to that disgusting woman who was slowly climbing down the stairs.
"Not so soon Mr. Oberoi. Not today." Om's voice rang out in the hall as he stood at the main entrance of the mansion, smiling in a most un-Omkara way.
Translation for the Hindi dialogues:
