"Mrs.Richards, your daughter left class."
"Did anyone see her leave?"
"No and that's the problem I don't know how she got out of class I was right at my desk. I think the kids did see her and just don't want to tell me."
Valeria watched her mother and teacher talk. She was confused and scared. No other preschooler has done what she did. At least not from what she has seen. She wanted to tell her mother she was there, but she was scared and didn't know what her mother would say. Her teacher left the room to go check the bathroom again. Her mother started looking around the room as if she could sense Valeria.
"Mom?" She finally asked. "Whats wrong with me?"
Susan turned in the direction Valeria talked. "Sweetheart, you need to relax ok? Once you relax you will go back to normal then we can go home and your dad and I will tell you ok?"
Valeria relaxed the best she could. She eventually saw her hands and was relieved. Her mom came over to her and hugged her. Her teacher started talking about how she didn't see Valeria when she noticed her next to her mother. The teacher looked like a deer in headlights.

That night Valeria heard her parents fighting. She knew it was about what she did at school mostly because they kept saying her name. Valeria didn't have to realize they were different, because she knew it. Most people didn't have an uncle made out of rock. She didn't know what she was though. It must be bad she thought. She was scared for everyone. What am I?
