Author's Note: Hey guys this is my take on the 'Prom-asaurus' episode. In this episode I do have Quinn finally being able to move around and she is out of her wheelchair but is still adjusting to walking again. I hope I did her storyline justice and I hope you enjoy the twists I had come up with for this episode ;D
For the next week at my physical therapy it became my mission to walk again. Prom King and Queen nominees were about to be nominated and for prom I wanted to be able to surprise everyone by being able to not only walk again but dance as well. I had been heading to physical therapy on my own but I was getting stronger every day. "Miss Fabray, you have improved so much over the last few weeks," the doctor smiled at me. "Thank you doctor. I've been doing my best to. I want to be back on my feet. Prom is next week," I smiled a bit. "Oh yes that would be an excellent time to be able to show your friends all the progress you have made," the doctor agreed. "Do you think I'd be ready for it?" I asked. "Only one way to find out," the doctor smiled a bit as I practiced dancing around, finding that I could move at ease.
"I can't believe this," I beamed as my mom walked in. "Oh Quinnie look at you," my mom smiled. "Isn't it amazing? I think I'm going to be able to dance at Prom," I grinned. "Quinnie I am so proud of you," my mom said to me I walked over to her hugging her tightly. "I still need a lot of breaks from standing but this is such an improvement," I smiled. "I agree completely," my mom grinned before asking me "Have you told Noah yet?" I shook my head. "I wanted to make sure I could really do this before telling him," I said honestly. "Well I am so looking forward to seeing you walk down the stairs in your prom dress," my mom smiled as she helped me out to the car as we headed home feeling more hopeful than before.
At school I was still bound to the wheelchair but I would walk whenever I was inside the restroom. I wanted to ensure that I was truly ready to be able to walk. I knew Prom was going to be a long night and the little baby steps I was taking was so I could improve my balance by the time prom arrived.
"Attention students. It is now time to announce the nominees for Senior Prom King and Queen," Principal Figgins announced as most of the students looked nervous. This was something we had looked forward to since we had started high school. "The nominees for Prom King are.....Finn Hudson," Principal Figgins said as I could hear the classroom Finn was in bursting into applause. "....Senior Class President, Brittany S. Pierce," Principal Figgins said as Brittany grinned excitedly. "And Finally Noah Puckerman," Principal Figgins said as I could hear the classroom Puck was in breaking into a ton of noise. "And now for the nominees for Prom Queen..." Principal Figgins began as I held my breath. "Santana Lopez," Principal Figgins said as Santana smirked a bit. "Quinn Fabray," Principal Figgins said as I looked relieved. I was so happy to be nominated once again. "And Rachel Berry," Principal Figgins said. "Is this a joke? Who nominated Berry?" Santana snarked. "Don't be mean Santana. People probably just voted for Finn and Rachel because they're a couple," Brittany shrugged. I also was surprised to hear Rachel nominated but I was happy for her. After her NYADA audition came crashing down she deserved something good in her life.
"Hey did you hear we got nominated," Puck grinned as I nodded. "Yeah. It's amazing," I smiled a bit. "I told you we'd get the nomination babe. Now all we need to do is get the votes. I'm sure I can get a few on fear alone," Puck smirked. I chuckled a bit. "I appreciate it. It would be great for us to win," I smiled. "It would be totally awesome. It would be a symbol of my badassness and your popularity. Babe this is everything we could want," Puck said as I couldn't help but nod to agree. "Listen, there's something I want to show you. Could you stop by my house after school today?" I asked as Puck nodded. "Yeah of course," Puck smiled as he kissed me before heading off to class.
That afternoon Puck knocked on my door. I walked up to answer it. "Wait....is this what you wanted to show me," he said shocked. "Isn't it great?" I smiled a bit as Puck pulled me in for a hug. "So that's why you didn't want me to join you at physical therapy," Puck said shaking his head. "I wanted for it to be a surprise. The doctor says I'm on my way to being able to dance at prom," I smiled a bit. "Quinn, that's amazing," Puck said shocked. "Thanks," I smiled a bit as I walked to sit down on the sofa. "I'm not ready to walk the halls or anything but I'm getting closer everyday. The only reason I'm still using the wheelchair is because I don't want to overdo it," I said honestly. "Still...I'm so happy for you," Puck smiled a bit.
"I wanted you to see me once I really got a handle on it," I smiled. "I'm glad you showed me now. It'll be a great way to surprise everyone at prom," Puck said as I nodded. "I'm going to arrive in my chair just in case I need it but for the most part I'm going to try to stand up and stay on the dance floor," I smiled a bit. "You do whatever you need to, okay?" Puck told me seriously as I kissed him. "Thank you for being there for me through this. Having you by my side helped me improve," I said. "Glad to be of service," Puck smiled as he helped me up once again so I could get back to my chair. It was little improvements like this that made me look so forward to Prom.
The next day at Glee Rehearsal, as Senior Class President Brittany had to come up with a theme and her theme was "Dinosaurs" Brittany grinned as most of us looked confused. "Sheer genius," Santana said supporting her girlfriend. "Thanks," Brittany grinned. "I'm confused. Why Dinosaurs?" Kurt asked. "Why not Dinosaurs? They're awesome, they're prehistoric, and it's a prom theme that is not old, boring, or tiresome," Brittany grinned. "Alright guys, you heard Brittany this year's prom will be dinosaur themed," Mr. Schue said writing 'Dino-Prom' on the board.
"Now let's work on some songs that would fit this theme," Mr. Schue said as we all looked at each other. Finding songs was going to be a difficult task for us to do. Brittany's hand quickly shot up. "Yes Brittany?" Mr. Schue asked. "Mr. Schue! I would like to perform 'Dinosaur' by my idol Ke$ha," Brittany grinned. "I'm sure we can arrange that," Mr. Schue said writing Brittany's song choice down. "Do our songs have to be dinosaur themed?" I asked nervously. "They don't have to be but let's try to stick with the prom theme," Mr. Schue said as all of us nodded. We knew we were going to have to figure out songs that were suited for the prom, not exactly dinosaur themed.
"We need to talk," Santana said as I turned around. "About?" I asked confused. "Look I know we've had our moments with fighting but it's our senior year and it's come to my attention that we've never sang a duet," Santana said to me. "Wait...you want to sing with me?" I asked confused. "Come on. We are by far the top two candidates for Prom Queen. No one is going to vote for Berry, let's face it. I think we should sing a moving ballad that way everyone will be so in awe of us that they'll forget about Berry," Santana said. "I'm okay with singing a song with you but why are you so hung up on Rachel being nominated?" I asked Santana. "Look Kurt won last year because of people wanting to vote for him as a lame practical joke. I don't want the school getting the same idea twice, especially with Berry on the ballot," Santana said.
She had a point. The student body would be tempted to vote for Rachel, especially with Finn up for King. I didn't think it would be a bad thing unlike Santana but if they were going to vote for Rachel to hurt her that was something I wanted to prevent. After all her dreams already came crashing down after her failed NYADA audition. "Okay....I'm in," I said. "YES!" Santana grinned. "But not for the reasons you think," I said. "I get it. You've got a lady boner for Berry. It's obvious but whatever as long as it keeps her from winning I'm good," Santana smirked as she walked off.
Puck came out of his classroom lifting me up and spinning me around. "Okay what was that for," I chuckled as he put me back in my chair. "I got my first A...like ever," Puck said as I smiled at him "You see. I told you that you could do this," I smiled. "Thanks to you I'm going to graduate," he said. "It was all you. I just helped you get there," I smiled a bit. "Yeah and once you're elected Prom Queen we're going to be on top of the word babe," Puck smiled. "Not to mention once we win Nationals," I chuckled. "Yeah...that too," Puck said as we headed down the halls.
Prom Night was that Saturday. I could hardly believe the day was finally here. My mom helped me get ready for the prom as she had helped me get ready every day. "Quinnie, I'm so proud of how far you've come. No matter what happens this is going to be your night," my mom told me seriously. "Thanks Mom," I smiled as she went downstairs to get the door to let Puck in.
I walked down the stairs to reveal my lilac dress with the silver sparkle straps. "You look stunning," Puck said as I reached the bottom of the stairs. "Okay kids smile for the pictures," my mom beamed as Puck and I posed together. I was going to debut the fact that I could walk as I entered Prom but I would first display it on my limo ride with Brittany and Santana. I entered the car as Santana and Brittany both looked surprised that I had been able to walk. "Wait...where's your wheelchair? Did you lose it?" Brittany asked me as I couldn't help but chuckle. "No Britt...I just wanted to surprise everyone with my progress," I smiled a bit. "Well color us shocked. Of things I wasn't expecting at Prom, you walking would probably at the top of the list," Santana said. I laughed knowing this prom was going to change everything for me.
All eyes were on me as I entered the gym wheelchair free. "Oh my God," Mercedes said. "It's a prom miracle," Kurt grinned as my friends from New Directions hugged me. "Quinn...you can walk," Rachel beamed as I nodded. "I'm able to stand for awhile. I still need to take a lot of breaks and sit but I'm on my way to walking and dancing with ease," I smiled a bit as Brittany then went up to perform her song 'Dinosaur' by Ke$ha as the rest of us danced the night away, having a blast on the dance floor.
Santana was up next performing 'Love You Like a Love Song' by Selena Gomez with Brittany and Tina on background. Midway through the song I had to take a seat. "Sorry," I sighed as Puck sat with me. "Don't be. You're doing what you can. I don't want you hurting yourself, okay?" Puck told me seriously as I nodded. The song ended as we clapped for Santana. "Alright, we have a treat for you. Quinn and I as Prom Queen nominees will be performing your solo dance song," Santana smirked as I got up. "That's my cue," I giggled as I joined Santana onstage to perform 'Take My Breath Away' by Berlin.
"Watching every motion in my foolish lover's game. On this endless ocean, finally, lovers know no shame," I sang. "Turning and returning to some secret place inside. Watching in slow motion, as you turn around and say," Santana sang. "Take my breath away. Take my breath away," Santana and I sang. "Watching I keep waiting still anticipating love. Never hesitating to become the fated ones," I sang on lead as Santana harmonized with me. "Turning and returning to some secret place to cry. Watching in slow motion, as you turn to me and say," Santana sang on lead as I harmonized. "My love," Santana sang. "Take my breath away," Santana and I sang. "Through the hourglass, I saw you in time you slipped away. When the mirror crashed, I called you and turned to hear you say," Santana sang. "If only for today, I am unafraid," I sang. "Take my breath away. Take my breath away ohhhh. Take me breath away," Santana and I harmonized as the song ended. The crowd cheered for us as we finished the song.
I got offstage and headed outside to fix my makeup when Rachel walked up to me. "Hi," I smiled. "Hi Quinn..." Rachel grinned as she said "I just am so glad you're doing okay now." "I am," I nodded as Rachel then surprised me by saying "Do you not understand what you mean to me? When we first met, you were everything I wanted to be: You were beautiful and popular, and you had Finn," she said. "I was also an awful human being who treated you like crap," I said. "So you were mean to me. You weren't the only one. Somehow through all of that you were willing to be my friend and that to me is what I'm going to look back on as my greatest high school achievement. Sure I had a lot of great moments with the Glee Club but find a way to be your friend, that's everything to me," Rachel said. "You really mean that don't you," I said emotionally. "Of course I do. Look I know I'm up for Prom Queen and everything but I wanted you to know that I voted for you. You deserve it Quinn, after all the hardships you had to go through, especially after the accident," Rachel said as I was left speechless. Santana then entered the girls bathroom "There you are. Quit making out with Berry. You both need to get onstage for them to announce me as Prom Queen," Santana smirked as she walked off.
Rachel and I couldn't help but laugh. "Come on friend," I smiled as Rachel and I linked arms as we walked out onstage together. "Do I have all the nominees for Prom Court onstage?" Principal Figgins asked as everyone was in place. "Good. First I have an announcement to make: There are reptiles living in McKinley toilets no more. The family of snakes has been safely removed to the zoo, and they can life out their lives in the toilets there." We all looked confused about the situation but decided to ignore it. Principal Figgins was always saying crazy things like that about what was going on in the school. "And now for the moment you've all been waiting for.....this year's senior prom king is.......Finn Hudson," Principal Figgins announced as Finn looked excited yet surprised to be Prom King. "This year's senior prom queen is..........by one vote, Quinn Fabray," Principal Figgins said as I stood onstage shocked. Rachel smiled as she clapped for me. Santana looked completely annoyed. Puck looked happy for me but almost seemed kind of jealous that once again I was dancing with Finn.
"McKinley Titans, bow down to your new leaders!" Principal Figgins announced as we stood together, crowned. "And now first dance of this year's Senior King and Queen!" Principal Figgins said as Puck was up performing 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' by Aerosmith for our dance, seeming to do so begrudgingly.
"How weird is it that we're prom king and queen," Finn laughed as I chuckled. "I know what you mean. When we were dating this was all I could've imagined for us. Now that it's really happened it just feels...weird," I said honestly. "I know what you mean. I mean I have Rachel now and you and Puck seem super happy together," Finn said. "We are," I smiled looking back lovingly at Puck. "I'm glad for you Quinn. You deserve to be happy," Finn smiled "And so do you," I told him seriously "I know I was against you and Rachel's wedding but I can see how sure you both are that you truly love one another. I feel the same way with Puck so I get it now." "Thanks," Finn smiled as I nodded. The song ended as I walked over to talk to Puck who seemed upset.
"Hey..." I said trying to keep up with him. "Ugh..." Puck said annoyed as he threw his jacket down. "Talk to me..." I told him seriously. "You and Finn. It felt like sophomore year all over again," Puck fumed. "I chose you, remember?" I told him seriously. "Yeah after I knocked you up," Puck said frustrated turning away from me. "I was the one who chose to give my virginity up to you," I told him seriously "Why do you think it never worked out between Finn and I? Because we weren't meant to be." "And you and I are?" Puck asked. "I'd like to believe so," I frowned as Puck shook his head. "No freaking way. You're too good for me. You always were," Puck said upset.
"I'm a Lima Loser. I always have been and probably always will be. You got into Yale. I don't have any future." Puck said. "You have your pool cleaning business," I corrected him. "Yeah...I have my pool cleaning business but if that fails I've got nothing going for me. It's not like any school in California would take someone as useless as me," Puck said upset. "You are not useless," I told Puck seriously as I lifted his chin up "If it wasn't for you I don't know if I'd be standing here right now. You were the one who stood by me after this accident. You're the one who told me not to give up even when things looked bleak. Even if you don't believe in yourself, I believe in you." "Maybe you shouldn't," Puck sighed "Look I appreciate how much you care about me but once we go our separate ways you're going to find some rich dude to accommodate you to the life you deserve. All I'll be is a distant memory." "You're wrong," I said emotionally. "No...I'm not," Puck said as he then took off. I went back inside tearful and stunned. This was not the way I had expected my senior prom to end. Not at all.
