*Jessica's POV*
I sighed and knocked on the door to Shawn's house. It didn't take long for him to answer.
"Hey, Jessica," he smiled and stepped to the side.
I stepped inside, "Hi." I followed him to sit down in his living room.
"What's wrong, love?" he sat down next to me, "You seem kind of down."
I looked at the floor and stayed quiet.
"Hey," he reached for my hand and I looked up at him, "You can tell me anything. I'm here for you."
Shawn looked me on the eyes, listening, as I explained, "I'm just really stressed out from work and school. It's a lot and it really gets to me sometimes."
"Come here," he said and wrapped his arms around me, "Just for now, forget all of that. It's going to turn out okay, remember that. And I'm right here."
I pressed my head into his chest, "Thank you, Shawn."
He let go and interlocked our fingers again. "Here, follow me," Shawn stood up and pulled me along, "I have an idea." He led me to his room and I sat down in his bed as he searched through a few drawers.
"What are you looking for?" I curiously asked.
"You'll see, one second," he kept searching.
"Found it!" he called and pulled out a sheet of bubble wrap. "Try popping the bubbles on it," Shawn said, "I do it all the time and it's really relaxing." He handed over the bubble wrap and sat down next to me. "Try it," he urged.
I smiled slightly at his hard he was trying to make me feel better and tried popping one of the bubbles. It actually was really satisfying and a lot more fun than I expected it to be.
"This really is surprisingly relaxing," I marveled, "And kind of fun, you know?"
"Yeah," he agreed, "I use it all the time when I'm feeling stressed out. (|-/ ) I thought it would really help you."
I nodded, "It is."
Shawn stood up, "I'll be back in a second, okay?"
"Okay, I'll be here." He left the room and I waited.
A few minutes later, Shawn came back with his guitar with him. "Just thought I could play you a song or something," he said, sitting back down.
"You don't have to, Shawn, really," I replied, "I don't want you hurting your voice when you're supposed to be resting it."
"Jessica," he began, "If it's for you it doesn't matter. You know I'll do anything for you. And one song isn't going to hurt anything."
I smiled, "Okay."
"There's the smile I've been missing," Shawn grinned and started to play his guitar.
I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes
"She would not show that she was afraid, but being and feeling alone was too much to face," Shawn sang, "Though everyone said that she was so strong, but what they didn't know is that she could barely carry on."
I smiled when Shawn got to the chorus, "...Sometimes it all gets a little too much, but you gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up. And you don't have to be afraid, because we're all the same. And we know that sometimes it all gets a little too much..." Shawn sang the rest of the song while I enjoyed his voice, the lyrics, and just being with him.
When he finished, I held his hand. "Thanks for the free show, baby," I said.
"Who said it was free?" Shawn joked, "You have to pay up now."
I rolled my eyes, smiling.
"Just kidding if course," Shawn kissed me on the cheek and put his arm around me, "I'm glad you're feeling better."
