The next week at school Principal Figgins told Tina that she couldn't dress in her usual goth style. Apparently he thought vampires were real which was kind of hilarious. We were all pretty shocked when Tina walked in to class dressed in a grey sweatshirt and jeans. We all were suggesting looks for Tina trying to help her come up with a new look that would be approved by Principal Figgins. . "Look, I appreciate it, guys, but it just isn't me. I know who I am, and I'm not allowed to show it. It's like communism," Tina frowned as Rachel walked in interrupting us.

"Guys, we have a serious problem. I've been doing some deep background on Vocal Adrenaline," Rachel frowned. "Isn't that against the rules?" Artie asked. "No, not at all or probably. Whatever. Anyway, what I figured out, I rooted through the Dumpsters behind the Carmel auditorium and I found 18 empty boxes of Christmas lights," Rachel said. "Oh, no," Tina frowned. "Which led me to Joelle Fabrics. I asked them about red Chantilly lace, and they were sold out!" Rachel exclaimed. "Oh, sweet Jesus," Mercedes frowned. "Oh, my," Kurt shaking her head. "What?" Mr. Schuester asked. "They're doing Gaga," Kurt said shocked. That's it. It's over," Mercedes said. "Exactly! We should have guessed it," Rachel said. "They're going for full-out theatricality. They know it's the easiest way to beat us.Damn them!" Kurt frowned.

"What's up with this Gaga dude? He just, like, dresses weird, right? Like Bowie?" Puck asked. "Lady Gaga is a woman! She's only the biggest pop act to come along in decades. She's boundary-pushing. The most theatrical performer of our generation. She changes her look faster than Britt changes sexual partners," Adam said. "That's true," Brittany nodded. "It makes sense that Vocal Adrenaline would pay homage. It's a brilliant move. She's a perfect fit for them," Artie frowned.

"Now, hold on a second. We might be able to kill two birds with one stone here. We can help Tina find a new look and find a competitive number for regionals. This week, your assignment: Gaga," Mr. Schuester said as us girls beamed while the boys looked less than thrilled besides Kurt. I, for one was looking forward to performing some Lady Gaga. Her songs were amazing and she was the perfect fit for our club. The bell rang as I grabbed my things. Mercedes and I began leaving the choir room together when we were stopped by Berry.

"Guys!" Rachel said as we turned around "Look I know we're not exactly friends but we need to know what we're in for with Vocal Adrenaline. I propose we go to their rehearsal." "Wouldn't we get in trouble for that?" I asked pointedly. "No...I mean we've done it before or did you forget our venture with Dakota Stanley?" Rachel said. "She has a point," Mercedes said. "Look don't you guys want to get the leg up against them?" Rachel asked. Mercedes and I looked at each other and nodded. We knew Rachel was right. "Okay...we're in," Mercedes said. "Great! Meet me after school tomorrow at Carmel High," Rachel said as she walked off happy. "What have we gotten ourselves into?" I laughed to Mercedes who shrugged. "Come on. We've got ourselves a team to spy on," Mercedes smiled as we headed home for the afternoon.

The next day after school we met up with Rachel at Carmel High, sneaking into Vocal Adrenaline's rehearsal. We could hear their director choreographing them as we entered. "You think they can see us?" Mercedes asked. "If they catch us, are we gonna have to go to jail?" I whispered. "Stealing their ideas is not a crime," Rachel whispered as we took our seats to watch what Vocal Adrenaline had up their sleeves. "Okay, okay, okay. It's just Enough. You guys aren't getting it. You're letting the costumes do all the work. Theatricality isn't about crazy outfits. It's not enough to douse yourselves with gasoline. You have to light yourselves on fire to make it work!" Their director explained to Vocal Adrenaline. "God, she's good," Rachel said in awe. "Being theatrical doesn't mean you have to be a nuclear explosion. It can be like a quiet storm. You just have to radiate emotion, express what's deep inside you. That's what theatricality is truly about. Do I have to demonstrate? "Funny Girl." E-flat," The director said as she got ready to perform. "Exactly what I would have done. Barbra. I could do it in my sleep," Rachel whispered.

When the director, Miss Corcoran began to sing Rachel seemed almost entranced as she began walking down to talk to her. "Where are you going? - Get back here," I whispered gritting my teeth as Rachel got down to the stage. After Miss Corcoran finished Rachel spoke to her "Ms. Corcoran?" Rachel said as Miss Corcoran faced her. "I'm Rachel Berry. I'm your daughter."

Mercedes and I looked at each other shocked. The coach of Vocal Adrenaline was Rachel's mom? "We've got to get out of here," I murmured to Mercedes who nodded to agree. We decided to sneak out while we had the chance. Miss Corcoran was obviously occupied with finding her daughter and it wasn't like we wanted to be caught. Mercedes and I exited Carmel High.

"Tomorrow's our big Gaga number. Do you have any ideas for looks?" Mercedes asked. "I think I have a few...I mean I don't know how much I can exactly spend on a costume though," I sighed. "What do you mean?" Mercedes asked. "I don't exactly have a lot of money. I spent most of the money I made babysitting on Christmas gifts," I explained. "Quinn, you don't need to worry about that," Mercedes said shaking her head as I seemed dumbfounded. "My parents know how much Glee Club means and they wanted to help you out to get a costume for Gaga Week," Mercedes smiled at me. "That's so generous," I said in awe. "I don't know if I can accept that," I said quietly looking down. "Sure you can," Mercedes assured me "You're with us now, Quinn." I still couldn't get over how lucky I was to have people around me who were willing to help me out.

Mercedes and I quickly went shopping for our Lady Gaga costumes. Mercedes picked out a purple wig that had Lady Gaga's signature bow hairstyle as well as an off the wall golden glitter dress with huge shoulder pads. I decided to go with Lady Gaga's look from the 2010 Grammy awards. I added some Pink false lashes to make it look more fun. "Wow we are going to kill this assignment," Mercedes beamed as we finished buying our costumes. I couldn't help but nod to agree.

The next day at school Puck approached me. "Hey I have an idea for what we can name the kid, Jack Daniels," Puck said to me. I raised my eyebrow at him. "Jack Daniels, really? I thought Drizzle was bad enough but here you come with Jack Daniels," I said shaking my head. "You're wrong. It's a good name. It's a rock star name," Puck protested. "You want to name our daughter Jack Daniels? She's a girl!" I exclaimed annoyed. "Okay, fine, whatever. Jackie Daniels," Puck said as I just shook my head. "The name is not the point! I told you this. I'm giving up the baby so I don't have to do this with you. This is good for you. Now you can go off and be a rockstar yourself," I told Puck as I walked off to change into my Lady Gaga costume for Glee Rehearsal. I saw Kurt and Tina already in the costumes walking through the halls. I was happy for them. Tina seemed to be enjoying her new look which I was glad about.

"Little monsters, take a bow," Mr. Schue said as us girls & Kurt modeled off our costumes. "Alright, Ladies, Kurt, I am really, really impressed. You know what the best part is? Each one of your costumes shows off a different aspect of your personalities," Mr. Schue smiled. "Wait, where's Rachel? I only notice because five minutes have gone by without her saying something totally obnoxious," Puck asked. "Rachel kinda got some intense news yesterday," Pia frowned. "We were spying on Vocal Adrenaline and -," I began. "Guys, that's not fair! You gotta stop doing that. But, uh, you know, wh what'd you find out?" Mr. Schue asked. "Okay, y'all ready? Ms. Corcoran, their coach, she's Rachel's mom," Mercedes said as everyone seemed shocked.

"Are you serious?" Mr. Schue asked shocked. "Way to bury the lead, Mercedes," Artie said. "We're screwed. Rachel's gonna jump ship over to Vocal Adrenaline," Puck said as Rachel then appeared in the doorway. "Never. I really don't want to talk about it though. I'm still processing the news. And my dads are moving my therapist to our spare room later this afternoon. All I know is that I'm not going anywhere and I've chosen a Lady Gaga look that expresses the longing for a childhood I was deprived of," Rachel said upset. "You look terrible. I look awesome," Brittany said with a shrug. "I think it's the Kermit the Frog look," Mercedes said trying to figure out what Rachel had done. "And we have a jumper," Adam said as the frog on Rachel's costume fell off. Rachel sighed. "Well, my dads can't sew, so these are just stapled on," Rachel frowned. "Why don't we worry about this later and try to focus on the song?" Mr. Schue said. "Couldn't agree more. Hit it," Rachel said as we got up to perform the Lady Gaga smash hit 'Bad Romance'.

Kurt started off the song as we got up to perform in the auditorium. Tina then started off the song singing the first verse. "Love, love, love I want you love," we harmonized with Tina. Mercedes and Santana then took the lead singing the next part of the song. "Love, love, love, I want your love. Love, love, love, I want your love," we sang together. "You know that I want you and you know that I need you. I want it bad, bad romance," I sang on lead as the girls then joined in with me on the chorus. "I want your love and I want your revenge. You and me could write a bad romance. I want your love and all your lover's revenge. You and me could write a bad romance. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh. Caught in a bad romance. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh. Caught in a bad romance," we sang as we then headed to the bridge which Tina started us off. She was soon joined by Mercedes and then I joined in. "Walk, walk fashion baby. Work it move that thing crazy," Santana then joined in as we ended the bridge. "Walk, walk passion baby, work it, I'm a freak baby," Santana then took the lead as we backed her up. "Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh caught in a bad romance. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh caught in a bad romance," we sang as Santana stayed on lead. "I want your love and I want your revenge you and me could write a bad romance. I want your love and all your lover's revenge. You and me could write a bad romance. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh. Caught in a bad romance. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh. Caught in a bad romance. Rah-rah, ah-ah-ah. Ro-ma, Ro-ma-ma. Gaga, Oh-la-la," we all sang together as Kurt ended the song.

Mr. Schue cheered for us as well as the rest of the Glee guys. Finn and Puck looked hesitant but clapped for us anyway. "Okay that was amazing girls. Now the boys are going to do a number they prepared. They just want to get ready first," Mr. Schue smiled as the guys headed back to get ready. Rachel headed out to get some help with her costume. She came back looking great. Stating that her mom made her outfit. I couldn't help but feel happy for her. "Well we're all here so without further ado, I'd like to introduce the boys," Mr. Schue said. "LIMA OHIO! GET READY TO ROCK!" Puck yelled as I couldn't help but laugh as the boys began to perform their song of 'Shout It Out Loud' by KISS.

I probably had the most fun I'd had at Glee Club rehearsal hearing the boys bring out their rockstars. I sang along and danced along to their performance. I cheered loudly as the guys finished proud of them for what they had done for the week. Mr. Schue asked them about their costumes and what they represented. "We did our research, Mr. Schue," Mike grinned. "Yeah, Finn's demon look is because Gene Simmons liked comic books as a kid and they called Paul Stanley the Starchild because he was romantic or something. But that doesn't really explain my whore lips," Puck said as I couldn't help but crack up at him modeling his bright red lips. "And my Ace Frehley is supposed to be a spaceman from another planet. Mike's iconic cat man was because Peter Criss claimed to have nine lives," Artie explained. "Yeah, and I'm dressed as the guy who replaced Artie when he quit," Matt grinned. "Well, congratulations, guys. Job well done. Let's give it up for the boys," Mr. Schue said as we cheered for the boys.

I headed home with Mercedes that afternoon after the performance feeling like we had accomplished a lot. The next afternoon us girls returned to practice in our Gaga costumes. "All right, let's get things started," Mr. Schue said as Puck entered the room. "Mr. Schue, I have something I want to say to Quinn and I want everybody to hear it," Puck said as I turned around to face him. I had idea what he wanted to say to me. "All right," Mr. Schue said as he sat down giving Puck the floor. Puck exhaled. "At first I didn't get this theatrical assignment being larger than life and putting it all out there, 'cause I'm like that all the time. That's how my dad was too. He was too busy being all crazy and rock and roll to be there for his kid. And you know what? I didn't care that my dad was a bad-ass. I just wanted him to be there, and he never was. Then I learned all this KISS stuff and while Jackie Daniels is a great name for a power boat or something it's not right for a baby girl. So if my KISS-mates will help me out, I got a better idea. Grab a stool, guys," Puck said as I looked surprised as he and the boys began to perform KISS's song 'Beth'.

"Beth I hear you calling but I can't come home right now. Me and the boys are playing and we just can't find the sound," Puck sang on lead "Just a few more hours and I'll be right home to you I think I hear them calling. Oh Beth what can I do. Beth what can I do," Puck sang as the guys harmonized with him. I teared up as the song went on it was such a beautiful performance that Puck dedicated to me. "Beth I know you're lonely and I hope you'll be alright 'cuse me and the boys will be playing all night, all night," Puck sang as tears flowed down my cheeks. I tried to pull myself together as Puck then spoke to me.

"I know you're giving her up, but before you do I think you should name her Beth," Puck said to me as I cracked a half smile. "If you'll let me, I'd really like to be there when she's born. I'd really like to meet her," he said as I nodded tearfully as the bell rang. I hugged him as I wiped my eyes. "Thank you," I whispered. He hugged me, holding me close for what felt like the first time in a long time. I didn't realize how much I truly missed him until that point.

That next afternoon we were at Glee Club rehearsal. Mr. Schue walked in wondering why we were in our costumes. Artie asked what the lesson of the assignment was. Mr. Schue told us he wasn't sure what the lesson was either. We couldn't help but laugh. Tina then walked in looking like herself again told us she had pretended to be a vampire and tell Figgins that she was allowed to dress however she wanted or her father would go after him. I couldn't help but be happy for Tina. She deserved to have the right to express herself. "Where's Kurt and where's Finn?" Artie asked as we all walked out into the hall to find them.

We heard Karofsky and Azimio in the hall talking to Finn who was defending Kurt saying they were pretty sure they could take them both. "Yeah, but can you take all of us?" Puck asked as we all stood there. "Okay. Okay, I get it. I took biology. You know what? We done disturbed the freak hive. The worker freaks is tryin' to protect the queen freak," Azimio said. "Next time we'll bring some friends too," Karofsky said as he and Azimio walked off. "I'm tired of everyone calling us freaks," Rachel frowned. "Well, look at us. We are freaks," Mercedes said as we all chuckled. "But we're all freaks together and we shouldn't have to hide it," Finn said as Mr. Schue then applauded him. "Nice job, Finn.I think you just figured out what the lesson was. Kinda makes me wish I'd planned it," Mr. Schue said "But Mercedes is right. You do all look incredibly insane." "Thank you," we all said laughing a bit. "You're so welcome. Anyways, let's get back to work before you're all forced to join the circus. Next stop, regionals!" Mr. Schue said as we all cheered excitedly as we made our way back to the choir room to start rehearsing for Regionals.
