*Rin's POV*
The front door of our house slammed loudly and I heard Shawn's footsteps heading towards his office. He didn't say a word, even as I watched his shut the door behind him.
"Shawn, you okay?" I softly knocked on the door.
"Yeah," was all he offered.
"Can I come in?" I asked, receiving only a sigh from him in response.
I opened the door anyways and saw him leaning back in his chair, his hands on his head and his fingers entangled in his hair. I stood next to him, "What's wrong, babe?"
"Nothing. I just have a lot of stuff to do," he sat up and stared at the screen of his laptop that had song lyrics written.
I could tell that he was getting frustrated with what he was working on and he was obviously stressed, so I wanted to help him relax. Sitting on his lap, my arms slowly made their way around his neck and I snuggled my head into his chest, feeling the soft material of his shirt against my cheek.
"Rin, I need to get this done," Shawn complained. But I didn't stop.
"Just relax for a minute," I smiled and got closer to him. I picked my head up and pressed a couple of kisses on his soft lips, hoping to make him smile.
Even though I could tell he was enjoying it, he didn't kiss back.
"Not now, Rin," Shawn snapped and shoved me off of him harshly.
I stumbled with how hard he pushed me and crashed into a cabinet just a few feet away. The glass on it shattered from the impact. My arms and wrists were cut in a number of places from the sharp pieces of glass and I painfully stared at the dripping blood. My eyes pricked with tears.
I stood up and ran out of the room, avoiding the the glass shards. Broken like my heart.
"Wait!" I heard Shawn call as he ran after me.
I didn't listen and ran into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. Hot tears streamed downy cheeks as I started to clean up the scratches and cuts, some deeper than others.
I sat against the wall, on the floor, and applied pressure to the worst of the cuts.
"Rin," Shawn jiggled the door handle, "Please come out, baby, I'm sorry."
"I was just trying to help you!" I cried, "Just trying to make you feel better but I guess you don't want me."
"Darling, I'm so, so sorry," he was now pleading, the sincerity evident in his voice,"It's just the stress coming from making my new album. It's hard, but I shouldn't have taken it out on you. I was stupid. I'm sorry, Rin, please forgive me."
"It's okay, Shawn, I understand," I said quietly and opened the door.
He stepped in front of me and took my hands in his, glancing at the injuries von my arms. Most were covered in Band-Aids, but one bad one that I had previously been holding with my opposite hand wasn't.
"I can't believe I did this," Shawn sniffed sadly as I let him bandage up the last cut. He planted a kiss on it and I wrapped my arms around him tightly. "Thank you, baby. I promise I will never do that again," he continued to big me, "I love you so much."
"I love you too."
