"guess what!" Ethan shouted as we got in the house,
"what?" his mum said as she looked shocked from his exclamation,
"we're getting a dog..." he grinned like a little kid,
"uh..." she said and then pointed to Grayson,
"one of the ones that don't moult." He said casually,
"oh." She nodded and then realised that was a good idea,
"yeah." Ethan nodded back to her.
"me and Ava are going out for dinner." Grayson said as Ethan walked off to the kitchen,
"we are?" I questioned because I was not aware of this,
"yeah..." he said looking at me and smiling,
"alright." I shrugged because I wasn't complaining,
"that's fine... I was going to order take out anyway." His mum said as her attention turned back to the TV,
"that's settled then." Grayson said and then he led me into the kitchen where Ethan was digging into a bag of chips and looked very guilty and shocked when he saw us,
"they're hot ones." He said and then I saw the Doritos logo and held my hand out,
"Ava... we're about to go out to get food," Grayson said as he grabbed some water from the fridge,
"and? You're having a drink... they sell drinks at restaurants." I smiled to him cheekily,
"fine." He rolled his eyes and laughed as I dug my hand into the bag of chips which Ethan was holding out for me.
"I haven't had these in ages..." I said as I savoured the spices,
"we're going to leave in an hour..." Grayson said as he took another swig of water,
"do I need to get ready or is this like a casual thing?" I asked because I didn't want to rock up to a Michelin star restaurant in joggers and a bun,
"just like jeans and t-shirt casual." He shrugged,
"you going out for dinner?" Ethan asked getting interested,
"yes... and you're not coming." Grayson said to him,
"damn it... I wanted free food." Ethan laughed and then Grayson shook his head whilst smiling.
"I'll go put on some makeup then." I said to him,
"you look fine..." Grayson said to me,
"I was sat on a flight for eight hours... I need my concealer." I said to him,
"alright." He said putting his hands up in defence.
I popped on some concealer, brushed my brows with gel and then did a simple eye makeup look. I let my hair down as my it fell past my shoulders by a few inches. I pulled on some jeans and threw on a sweatshirt before heading down the stairs twenty minutes later.
"what time did you want to leave?" I asked him as he was sat on the sofa with his mum and Ethan,
"I'm ready now, if you wanted to head out?" he asked looking up at me,
"yeah... I'm ready." I smiled,
"okay then," he said getting up, "we're going now, so see you later." He said to everyone and we then headed outside.
Something was different.
The porch lights were on and there were sunflowers laid out on the ground all the way to the end of the driveway.
"Gray..." I said dragging the 'Y' as my head tilted,
"what?" he asked with a smirk and innocent eyes,
"you know what." I said to him as I picked up each flower off of the ground as Grayson followed close behind me.
"no way!" I gasped as I saw what was in front of me,
"what?" he asked again with the same look on his face, "what? Who did this!" he said pretending as if he didn't know what was going on.
There was the family Jeep in front of me with a banner on the side which had written on it: 'off to your mini fairy-tale'.
I thought I was going to cry.
"get in." he said as he walked over to the car and I followed close behind.
I got into the passenger seat and set down the sunflowers in the set behind.
"when did you do this?" I asked him,
"do what?" he asked as he was still playing innocent,
"come on," I rolled my eyes at him and laughed,
"what? I didn't do anything!" he exclaimed,
"Grayson..." I said as my head fell back,
"alright!" he laughed to me, "it was when you were sorting yourself out upstairs. I had to be quick." He said to me casually,
"I feel underdressed and I don't even know where I'm going." I said to him as I looked down at my black sweatshirt with floral embroidery on the shoulders.
"nah..." he said to me, "the boots make it a bit classier." He shrugged as he peered down at my feet,
"I guess so." I said as I looked at the chunky black boots which I threw on my feet because they were freakishly comfortable.
"here we are." He said as he pulled up to a small driveway lane.
He put the car in park and then got out, but he told me to stay there as he ran around the front of the car to open the door for me,
"wow... that was like a workout." He said which made me laugh as I hopped out of the car.
"here we are..." he said as he walked me over to a gazebo, which had a table and two chairs in the centre.
Fairy lights lined the roof and plates of food had already been spread out on the table.
"who did this?" I asked him because this time I knew he didn't put the food here,
"my mum and Cameron came down here before we got home." He said as he pulled the chair out for me in the most gentleman style possible.
"wow." I said to him as I looked around me at the lake which was on the other side of the gazebo.
"tuck in." he said as he pulled off some tinfoil from both of the plate.
The plates housed chicken Parma which was one of my favourite things to cook and Grayson obviously paid attention.
"what is all of this in aid of?" I asked him,
"well... you're away all day tomorrow so I figured I'd do a little birthday celebration for us tonight." He shrugged,
"what about tomorrow night?"
"we're all going out... the six of us." He said smiling,
"aww..." I said smiling back,
"oh..." he bent down and picked something up, "this is for you." He said as he handed me what I guessed was a birthday gift.
I unwrapped the paper as he watched me with a nervous grin in his face. There was a box underneath the paper but there was tape over something. I took of the lid and saw a dust-bag with a very recognisable name on it.
Gucci.
"no..." I laughed,
"what?" he laughed and smiled back,
"Grayson!" I said shaking my head but feeling really excited to see what was in the dust-bag.
I gently took of the dust-bag and pulled out a black canvas backpack with a simple green and red stripe from the fold over close to the seam at the bottom of the bag.
"now you're matching with me and E!" he exclaimed with a laugh,
"this is gorgeous!" I said as I was speechless staring at the bag.
"do you like it?"
"I freaking love it..." I said to him as I stood up to give him a massive hug,
"I'm happy you like it." He said whilst we were still hugging,
"I'm speechless." I said back.
The night was perfect. The food was perfect. Grayson was most definitely perfect in the most perfect way.

i realised as i wrote this chapter (and the next ones) that i make everything really cute for some reason. i'm not used to cute. oh well haha
