{Chapter 13}

Katie lied in her bed with her back up against the prop of pillows against the headboard. She bite her lip thoughtfully as she read one of the many Sex Position articles in her Cosmo Magazine.

It was just after 4 o’clock in the afternoon and it had started to rain outside. Andrea and the boys had gone out shopping but since Katie hated shopping so much, she decided to stay home.

She was in the middle of reading the part of the article about the Missionary position when a body came running towards her bed. She looked up startled as the boy jumped onto her bed stomach first.

“Harry!” She laughed as the body crawled up to her, a big smile crossed his face and it was something that took her by surprise.

His hair was perfectly swiped to the side of his forehead and he was wearing nothing but a plain black t-shirt and a pair of grey joggers. His green eyes shined as he looked up at her, she hadn’t seen him look so genuinely happy in a long time.

“What are you doing?”

She wondered why he had a sudden change of heart? After the past few days everything had been very different around the house. The truth about Katie's situation had put a strain on everyone.

Andrea had told Katie that the night after they had returned from the hospital and she had told Harry the truth, he had run down stairs and yelled at her with tears in his eyes.

Katie's heart had broken at the story, and he found it in himself to apologize to Andrea as he broke down in her arms, crying about the brunette girl who slept peacefully in the next room.

Katie's heart had cried for him, but the last few days had been getting better. The boys still treated her the same and even though Harry was super cautious with her now, she was still his favorite girl.

The laughing boy smiled up at her as he leaned on his elbows, his green eyes shining as he snuggled up beside her and rested his chin against her stomach.

“Go out with me tonight.” He simply said.

Katie smiled back, putting her magazine down beside her on the bed.

“Where to?” She asked, playfully cocking an eyebrow. He couldn’t help his smile.

“Dinner, movie, Vegas- where ever you want to go, we can go there.”

She chuckled at his persistency as the boy looked up with her with a hopeful smile.

“And what if I have other plans, Mr. Styles?” Katie asked, raising her eyebrows as the smile only grew on the boys face. Before she could react he sat upright and pulled her small body into his, grabbing at her sides playfully as she bursted out in laughter.

“Harry!” She cried, trying to wriggle away from him as he tickled her sides. “Harry, stop!"

But the boy didn’t give up.

His tongue stuck out the side of his mouth as he smiled and continued tickling the girl until she was close to tears. He knew all her sensitive spots, all the spots that made her scream.

When he decided she finally had enough, he let her go and she fell back into the pillows out of breath.

“I hate you!” She huffed, trying to catch her breath with a bright smile stretched across her face. She watched him through narrowed eyes as he reached down and snatched the magazine that lied beside her, still open to the page she had left off on.

“Oh, what’s this?” He cooed, furrowing his eyebrows as he pulled the magazine out of her reach. She growled as she tried to snatch it from him, but he kept it away from her at arms length.

“Harry, give it back!”

Her face flushed when he realized she had been in the middle of reading an article about sex positions. Before she could turn away in embarrassment, a cheeky, evil smile stretched so far across his face as he looked up at her with a glimmer of mockery in his eye.

“Oh, so this was what you were so engrossed in when I walked in, eh?” He grinned from ear to ear. She could feel the blood rush to her face in embarrassment. He really knew how to make her squirm.

“Oh shut up.” She mumbled. He only hollered louder at her embarrassment and continued reading.

“Oh, the missionary position. That’s always great.” He chuckled, scanning his green eyes excitedly over the article. “And it says here that the best way for the girl to get an orgasm is-”

“Harry!” Katie screeched, horrified.

Her mouth hung open and her face had to be the colour of a tomato at this point and Harry looked up at her and burst out in laughter. She hid her face in his hands but Harry pulled her fingers away from her face with a gentle smile on his.

“Katie, Katie, Katie.” He cooed as she worked up the nerve to look up at him. He smiled down at her gently. “What am I going to do with you?”

She grumbled again as he chuckled. “Why are you so embarrassed?” He asked. His fingers glazed over her hot cheeks. “You’re so beautiful when you blush.”

Why, she wondered in exasperation, why would he say that?! This only caused her face to get even more red!

She sighed as he chuckled some more.

“Can we talk about something else?” She demanded, huffing the hair out of her eyes. He smiled and leaned back, watching her in amusement.

“Like what?”

“How about this date you’re trying to ask me on, Styles.”

Once again that grin returned and stretched across his face. “Oh yeah, so where do you wanna go? Eiffel tower? Nandos? Narnia?”

Katie chuckled. “I’m perfectly okay with going to that quiet little restaurant down the beach.” She smiled.

He smiled with his eyes. “It’s a date.”

-

Andrea and Zayn were in mid conversation as they walked through the front door of the beach house after a long day of shopping. The boys and her had spend most of their days looking through the local mall and buying everything they could.

She looked up in surprise at the handsome looking 18 year old boy who stood at the bottom of the staircase, looking nervous.

A small smile crawled across Andrea’s lips and the conversation died on the rest of the boys’ tongues as they stepped through the doors and looked up at Harry who flashed them a nervous smile.

“So how do I look?” He asked anxiously.

He wore his fancy black dress pants, a white collared dress shirt that was tied together perfectly with a fancy bow-tie. His hair looked a little less wild and she wondered just how long he had spent re-fluffing it in the mirror. Behind her, Louis whistled low as the rest of the boys smirked.

Harry chuckled awkwardly, bringing a hand up to rub the back of his neck.

“What’s all this about, Haz?” Niall asked, munching on the last of the french fries they had stopped to pick up on the way home.

“Katie and I are going out tonight-” He said with a small smile on his face. “-On a date.”

The smiles stretched across everyone’s faces at the sight of Harry’s excited green orbs and the way he nervously twiddled his fingers as he waited for the girl at the bottom of the stairs.

“Andrea, can you just go up and make sure she is okay, she’s been up there for awhile and I haven’t heard from her and dinner is in half an hour and I’m scared the reservations fell through or maybe she doesn’t even want to-” Harry stumbled nervously over his words, but he was cut off from a small voice that came from the top of the stair case.

“Harry Styles, you need to stop worrying.”

Everyone turned to look up at the girl who walked slowly down the stairs, taking each step carefully in her high-heels.

She was wearing a black dress, but not the kind that she had worn out to the bars or to the club. It was the fanciest dress that had sat untouched at the back of her closet, that she had never worn until tonight.

Her hair was loosely curled as it tumbled in waves down her back and past her breasts. Her make up was dark but glamourous, bringing out her chocolate brown eyes and a pink strawberry colour in her plump lips.

Everyone watched the brunette descend the stairs, but Andrea looked over at Harry who stared at her mesmerized, looking as though if he blinked once, he would lose her.

Andrea smiled at the curly boy, knowing the familiar look on his face.

It was the look that had only been found in the most romantic movies, the cheesiest romance novels and the look Andrea had only ever known when she saw an old couple a few years ago on her trip to Paris with her parents.

The couple sat on a bench in front of an fountain in the middle of the square and she remembered how she couldn’t pry her eyes away from the way the old man held desperately at his wife's hand and the way he stared at her while she was busy looking at the water fountain.

She had never seen anything so beautiful than Paris, but this man was staring at her like she was the only beauty he would ever know.

“You’re-” Harry stumbled for his words as he shoved his hands in his pockets. His nerves were getting to him, she smirked.

He would always be the cheeky boy who could stand in front of thousands of girls and sing them their favorite songs but he couldn’t contain himself as he stood in front of just one girl telling her she was beautiful.

“You’re perfect.” He smiled up at her and he cheeks flushed a crimson red before she bowed her head and wrapped her arm around his.

“Don’t you kids stay out too late tonight.” Louis chirped up from behind Andrea and Andrea couldn’t contain her laughter.

“Don’t worry Lou.” Harry smiled proudly as he lead Katie towards the door. “I’ll have her home on time.”

Louis smiled smugly as Katie threw on her jacket and the couple made their way out the door.

-

For some strange reason, Katie found herself nervously patting down her hair every once in awhile and checking herself out in the reflection of her cutlery at the fancy dinner table they were sat around, just to make sure she looked her best.

Nerves? Katie wondered. She wondered why she felt nervous around Harry now then she did when she lied with him in bed at home.

Maybe it was because it was their real first date and Katie realized, as she looked across the table to flustered Harry who searched frantically over his shoulder for the waitor, that he was just as nervous.

The boy wanted to make sure everything was perfect that evening.

“Sorry, I can’t seem to find the waitor Katie.” Harry mumbled, craning his neck and searching around the room.

He had taken her to the quiet resturant down the pier, they had walked passed many times. Katie had always assumed it was a place where she’d be able to sit down and order a burger, fries with a re-filled cup of Coca Cola, but she was sorely mistaken.

The resturant had to be at least 5 stars. The waitors were dressed in their best, along with everyone who sat in the tables around them. She over heard some of them talking, whether it was about business or politics or plastic sugery.

It intimdated her.

“It’s okay Harry.” Katie chuckled, she had simply wanted a re-fill on her glass or wine but the waiter had gone missing.

He relaxed and looked back at her, smiling slightly. They had just finished dinner and were supposed to catch a movie right after. Harry glanced down at his watch earglery. He had the whole night planned out to the T. He had made reservations and practically had a whole itinerary written out in his mind.

“Oh, it’s almost 10. The movie starts at 10:25. We should probably go-” He muttered, beginning to stand up.

From across the table, Katie reached out and grabbed his wrist, stopping him where he stood.

“Harry.” She smiled at him. “Relax, we have all the time in the world.”

In her surprise, a look flashed across his eyes she hadn’t seen before. She couldn’t place a finger on it, whether it was the look of rage or horror or heartbreak, but she knew she didn’t like it. He hid it quickly with a tight smile.

“Well we’re going to miss the movie, silly.”

Katie shrugged and the boy chuckled. “If we make it, we make it. Not everything has to be set to schedule, Harry.” She smiled at him mockingly. He laughed and sat back down in his seat. “Just take it as it comes to you.”

He looked at her with his sparkingly green orbs and she wondered what he saw in her. He was sitting there in all his glory, looking like he had just fell from heaven and she was probably looking like something that had just been hit by a moving bus.

He smirked at her. “So what do you want to do then, oh wise one?” He mocked.

She couldn’t resist the smile that crossed her face. “Let’s go for a walk.”

-

The waves crashed against the shoreline as Katie paraded around the empty beach.

There was something peaceful about being on a beach in the middle of the night and she thought it was something that everyone had to eventually do in their life.

“Katie Dessing, I think your the weirdest girl I know.” Harry’s voice echoed as she tip toed on the wet sand as the water rushed into shore. Her fancy heels dangled from her hand and the hem of her dress was already kissed with water.

Katie threw her head back in laughter, and turned around in spot and looked at the boy, watching him walk with his hands in his pockets and a crooked grin on his face as she walked backwards in front of him.

“And what makes me so weird, Mr. Styles?” She pouted playfully and he couldn’t help but chuckle and look down at his feet.

He didn’t know why she had convinced him to walk back to the beach house. It was a decently far walk and it was cold and they were both dressed in their fanciest apparel.

“You just are.”

She smiled back at him and all of a sudden, the back of her heels hit a branch she hadn't noticed in the sand, and she stumbled backwards, surprise written across her face.

Harry reached out for her before she could fall over but she pulled him down with her.

They both toppled over, Katie’s back hitting the sand and Harry falling right on top of her.

Harry pushed himself on his elbows straight away, supporting his weight so Katie could breath under him.

Was she hurt? Was she crying? Did he hurt her? Would she be okay?

His eyebrows furrowed down at her in concern but to his surprise, a burst of laughter escaped her lips under him and he couldn’t help but laugh either.

Her laugh was infectious, just like everything else about her.

Katie clutched her stomach as Harry leaned down and pressed his forehead against hers, laughing just as hard as she was.

“I can’t believe that just happened.” She breathed. His face was so close to hers that her sweet breath fluttered his stray wisps of hair around his eyes. Her breath smelt like mint.

“You’re so klutzy.” He chuckled, she pouted playfully, jutting out her bottom lip as Harry watched her.

All he could focus on were her plump lips and as they lied there on the dark, deserted beach in the middle of the night. He couldn’t resist, as he leaned down a pressed a gentle kiss against those lips.

She kissed him back, just as slowly and just as gently.

He could have kissed her forever.

Suddenly, he didn’t care about the fact that his new dress pants were probably covered in sand. He didn’t care that there was the possibility of paparazzi lurking from afar to find him making out with a girl on the beach, he didn’t care that she had kept her biggest secret from him for a week and a half and he didn’t care that they missed that goddamned movie tonight.

Because in that moment, he didn’t care about the seconds on a clock or the time in the day, because that moment the world stopped around them as she kissed him back.

“Harry, I have an idea.” She mumbled as she tore away from his lips suddenly. He could tell they were swollen and red and he wanted nothing but to kiss them better.

“And what’s that?” He asked huskily.

To his displeasure, she shook him off of her gently, pushing him to the side and standing up.

“Katie what you doing-” He asked, kind of disappointed she had stopped what they had been in the middle of.

A cheeky smile flashed across her face as she stood up.

“I remember watching all those damn interviews with you during your X-Factor days, Styles.” She muttered as she dropped her shoes to the ground beside Harry. He stared up at her in fascination as she took the clips out of her hair and dropped them beside her shoes. “And what was it that you said your worst habit was, again?”

Before he could say anything, Katie reached for the hem of her perfect black dress and pulled it up and over her head.

Harry’s jaw dropped and he swallowed painfully as she dropped her dress at the ground where her shoes lied beside him.

She gave him a cheeky smile as she stood in front of him in nothing but a lacy black bra and matching panties.

“Wasn’t it getting naked all the time?” She whispered back huskily.

And with that, she took off giggling and running towards the water that crashed into the shore. Her brown hair flowing wildly in the wind as the sound of her laughter could be heard for miles down the shoreline, leaving him sitting in the sand and watching after her in awe.
