Darren's POV:
I arrived home at around seven at night. My house was as quiet as usual. I walked towards my room. I was actually expecting to see that bookworm in the room studying for the test we were having the next day. It was a biology test if I'm not wrong. Or maybe maths? Who knows!
To my surprise, my room was empty. I walked along the corridor and opened most of the room doors but no one was in any of them. My mum called me down and I was about to ask her when she asked, "where's Nina?".
My mum didn't know where was she as well. Dad had already joined us and I was still standing at my position. I couldn't believe it! She wasn't home! What am I going to tell her?
"Erm mum, don't tell me you don't know where's Nina!", I exclaimed.
"She was suppose to come home with you right?", she asked me. Her face was stern enough to scare me.
"Actually I told her to come by herself on the subway... so I think...", I was interrupted by my parents shouting.
"What!", my parents chorused.
I gave a nervous laugh. I'm totally dead!
"Darren! How could... Do you even know that Nina doesn't know her way home?", my mum yelled at me.
"Relax mum! If she doesn't know how to come back then she might have gone to her house!", I assured my parents.
"She would have called if she was there! And for your information, I just came from there! She wasn't there and she didn't plan to go there in the first place at all!", my mum was quite fed up with my behavior. She stormed towards the chair and sat down.
"If anything happens to Nina, I will for sure get killed! Chloe won't forgive me!", my mum mumbled to herself.
Oh sh*t! What did I do? I took out my phone and called her. Her phone was switched off! What! Did her battery die? She should be carrying a portable charger along with her all the time!
"Mum, dad! Don't worry! I will bring Nina back! I promise.", I assured my parents and picked my car keys. I ran out of my house and drove my car out onto the roads.
"Thank God it's not raining. I will be easier to find her then!", I mumbled to myself.
At that point, it began to drizzle and started raining cats and dogs. Now that's what I call a horrible day! Now how was I going to find her!
"Where are you Pluto Duck Face?", I muttered under my breath.
I drove towards my school and took a few rounds in the neighborhood. She was no where there. Then I went to the subway station and check her there. She wasn't there as well. I felt as if I was driving through the entire London! Where didn't I looked for her. Shopping malls, parks, neighborhoods! But she was no where. It was already 9pm. But there's one place left!
The City! Oh why didn't I think about that! The subway terminates there! I sped through the night to the city. As soon as I reached my destination, I slowed my car down and looked outside. It was already 9.45pm and it was quite empty.
It had stopped raining and it was easier to find her. I parked my car aside and got off. It was extremely cold! I wonder how was Nina feeling. Cold and wet at the same time? Maybe!
I brisk walk around the city. Then my eyes caught someone. She was lying down on the bench drenched. Is it Pluto! She looked as if she was shivering. I ran towards her. Then I heard that girl talking to herself.
"If I manage to go home, I will ki-kill that Pir... Piranha! It's ssss-oooo c-c-cold!", she mumbled and stammering the same time. She sounded quite weak. Oh! I just hope she's fine.
I let out a sigh. It was Pluto! I was feeling as if I was on cloud nine! I quickly bent down and massage her head. Pluto was weak and wasn't able to wake up from the bench. I pulled her up and balanced her on the chair with my hands around her hip. Her eyes were half open and her body was wet. I quite pulled her for a hug. A tight hug!
She was trying to get out of my grip but i was too strong for her. She was too weak to handle the strength. Soon, I could here her sighing as well. Maybe she was feeling warm. Wait! I was hugging her?
I immediately broke the hug and she looked into my eyes. She was shivering. I couldn't take it but found it hilarious! She was so wet!
"Pluto! You look like a clown! How could you not know how to come back!", I was laughing like mad.
"Instead of apologizing to me, you are laughing at me! Do you even know how was I feeling? I feel sick! I was sneezing and I feel like I have a fever!", her tone was very serious and weak. She sounded like she was going to cry. And yes, I assumed right. She began to cry. My hands were on her hips. She tired pushing my hand away but was not possible.
"It's true I don't know how to go home because I've never taken the subway before! I always have a car for me available! Instead of understanding my problem, you are laughing at me! Go back home because I'm not going to follow you!", she couldn't control her tears! Oh God! Why did I make her cry.
"Stop being stubborn Nina! Let's go!", I held her hand and began to pull her off the bench but she didn't seem to wake up! She was quite stun to hear her name from my mouth. Her real name. Nina.
"When I say no means NO!", she yelled at me. This girl didn't seem to have manners.
"Don't make me go to the extreme to do something that you don't like!", I threatened her. she didn't seem to be affected by it.
"No means No!", she repeated.
I had no choice but to do it! I carried her off the bench into my arms. She was kicking me and kept saying to let her go but I didn't listen! I picked up her bag and we began to walk towards the car. From the corner of my eyes I could see her staring at me angrily.
If I could have kept my ego aside and apologize to her, she wouldn't have been that angry with me. She was looking terribly weak and look as if she was gong to pass out at that moment! I needed to get her attention!
"Pluto, you know you are quite heavy! Overweight I guess!", I began to joke with her. This was fun until she began to cry again.
"I was just joking!", I added.
We had already reached towards my car. I opened the back door and slid her in. She was closing her eyes. Her body was freezing cold. I quickly took off my leather jacket and covered her properly.
Now I was confuse. Should I be bringing her to the hospital or back home. I mean she's quite sick but both of our mums will just panic. If I bring her home, her condition would deteriorate . I need to bring her to the hospital and get her treated.
I went to my seat and drove her to the hospital. There was a nearby hospital so we manage to reach fast. I got her out of the car. She was not conscious. Oh no! I rushed her towards the reception and told them that it was an emergency case.
They directed me to one of the doctors. I explained to the doctor. She told me to place Nina on the bed and leave.
After some time, she came out with a frown on her face.
"Mr Gray, your girlfriend has a high fever and a cold. She will be discharged as soon as she's conscious. Medicines will be given to her and she will not be able to attend school for the next few days.", she explained to me.
"She's not my girlfriend. She's my wife. I will make sure she doesn't go to school for the next few days till she's much better.", I smiled to the doctor and thanked her.
I immediately left from there and went into the ward. I can't believe that my words could get someone so ill. I had already informed mum and dad and they were coming soon.
I sat next to Nina, waiting for her to wake up. After some time, I could see Nina moving about and her eyes opened slowly. She was about to wake up when I stopped her.
"Nope! You are not allowed to wake up! Rest!", I instructed her. She looked at me and rolled her eyes.
"What am I doing here?", she asked me.
I pushed the lose strains away from her face behind her ears.
"Nina, you're not feeling well. The doctor told you to rest and you can't go to school till your fever subsidies. Once mum and dad come here with your clothes, we will leave. For now just rest.".
"Why are you calling me Nina? I thought you like calling me Pluto?", she asked.
"It's no time to joke Nina. Just rest. We will talk about it later.", I began to pat her head.
I was waiting for mum and dad. But while waiting, I kept thinking about Nina. It had only 24 hours since we both got together but I felt like she had totally changed me.
I never had tried to hard to find a girl who got lost but she's the first. I never felt on cloud nine once I found the girl but she's the first. I never hugged a girl because I was happy to see her but she's the first. I never carried a girl to the hospital but she's the first. I never care for any girl as much as I cared for her.
I admitted the fact that she's my wife.

Nina's POV:
His words just kept killing me inside. His actions were like fire. It kept melting my heart. Whenever I heard my name from his mouth, it relaxes me. I don't know why.
Sarah and William were standing in front me with Darren. He was sitting next to me. I felt like killing that idiot for leaving me alone in school without a proper transport to go home but after what he did for me, I felt like thanking him. But I can't do that! I can't lose to him!
"Nina sweetheart, we haven't told your parents anything yet. Do you want us to let them know?", William asked me.
"No please! I don't want mum's condition to deteriorate.", I tried to wake up from the bed but was not successful because Darren kept pinning me down back to the bed!
"Nina, if you don't want me to tell Chloe or Michael then you are to take care of your health and listen to Darren!", Sarah instructed me.
Oh no! I prefer dying rather than listening to him! Oh God! Please help me!

It was time to leave the hospital. I had already changed my clothes and I was discharged. We were going back home. The doctor told me that I was quite weak because my fever was quite high. Because of that, I needed support to walk. Darren had helped me all the way to the car.
There were two cars waiting for the four of us. One was Sarah and William's while the other was ours. We got into our respective cars. Darren placed me carefully at the passenger seat and then went to his seat. I wanted to ask him why was he so nice to me when we never liked each other.
Darren was driving the car very slowly. We didn't talk all the way. It was quite awkward when the car was filled with the heavy atmosphere. I needed to break the silence but how?
"Darren, could I ask you something?", I mumbled as I didn't wanted to waste my energy.
"Now what is it?", he said in his usual grumpy tone.
"Why are you so nice to me today? I mean we are not even friends right?", I asked him.
"Yup but I'm helping you as a stranger. Since we can't be friends, we are strangers to one another so that's why I help you! You are a known stranger! Get it!", he blurted out his feelings out.
Now that totally hurts! Strangers? Seriously. I didn't wanted to argue with him so turned my head towards the window.
As soon as we arrived home, Darren took me out of the car and brought me inside. We walked up to his room. He then directed me towards my side of the bed. My hands were tangled into his.
"Nina, got to sleep now! It's already 3 in the morning. I need to sleep and wake up early. Got to go to school , you know.", he whispered into my ears.
Nina! Why is he saying my name so many times! It seriously makes my heartbeat skip.
Darren tugged me into bed and walked over to his side of the bed. He then slept.
"Good night Pluto.", he yawned and soon he was fast asleep.
I didn't expect to see this side of Darren as well. I don't doubt anything but his behavior is very confusing. At times he shows me how much he hates me but at times he shows how much he cares for me. That's totally weird. But I totally like it. I will get use to it!
Because I want to live with him forever. He's my Darren!
