I woke up with my face in Veneer's soft petite baby bump with the flashes of a camera bringing me back into the real world.
"What time is it?" I yawned as I stayed in place, pressing a kiss to veneer's soft stomach and being rewarded with those pale fingers digging themselves into my hair as his airy soft tired giggles reached my ears.
"Time for you two to get up!"
"Veneer you said you wanted a Arnold Palmer whatever that is" Clay fixed his jumpsuit as he stepped out,
"Oh my god yes, I'm so craving iced tea with lemonade." He happily dragged out his syllables as I moved to lift my head up to see those beautiful sea colored eyes glittering with bleariness and that soft quiff of lime green hair made me lean over him and softly ran my fingers up the nape of his neck as I pressed a kiss into his cheek.
"Alright Prince Charming you gave sleeping beauty a kiss now lets go!" John called out interrupting our moment together as Veneer moved up wearing a completely different new outfit that consisted of a striped cami romper with thigh high ruffled open toe socks what had the same striped design.
For accessories he picked a black lace choker, replacing the two studs on his lobes with shiny black hoops and slipping on a long sleeved black denim jacket with a fur collar and matching fur at the ends of the sleeves.
I recognized that jacket as John's during our Brozone days and a weird feeling wormed itself into my gut but before I could assess what it was, Veneer put my face in his hands pressing a kiss to my lips, then getting up.
I stood and followed him out of the RV, I looked around and realized we were still in Mount Rageous, I looked at Veneer and put my arm around his waist as we strolled the freshly revived city,
The bustling city was filled with people as Veneer led us through, I noticed how everyone kinda stood back almost as if they were going solely off of Veneer's sense of direction.
"Uh babe where are we going?" I nipped his ear as he was strolling around his eyes darting strategically almost as he was looking for something specific.
"I know a place darling so don't worry I know where we are... Oh there it is!" He took my hand of his hip and intertwined our fingers before he broke out in a happy skip, everyone following along with happy glances,
As we stood in front of a store his eyes glittered with recognition as he excitedly said,
"I loved going to this place! I found it one night and kept going." I smiled at his adorable one that could easily outshine the morning sun as a Rageon opened the glass door followed by with Veneer rapidly pushing us through the open door before it closed again.
The place was small with honeyed hues scattered across as the sunlight spread itself across the cafe tables that were a rich brown, the aroma with was a dark aromatic perfume that made my mouth water, as we all hopped up on the counter to place our order.
"Oh wait how are we going to pay?" Veneer looked to me and an idea bulb popped into John's head as he pulled out his traveling bag and pulled out a shiny see through card that had numbers on it.
"Holy shit, you found my credit card! Wait what else did you grab from my room?" I watched as he swiped the oversized piece of plastic from my brother and strutted up to the cashier with a happy smile on his face.
But that room comment sent a weird chill down my spine as I've never felt this feeling before, I'll talk to Veneer about this when we get back because I don't want this creeping insecurity to butt into my relationship with him or my brother.
Maybe it's related to the fact that Veneer and our baby almost died because of his sister's mental disorder that's sending me into such a protective daze. I just want to just put him in a pile of pillows and keep him there,
I'm scared of losing him again, but before I can zone off into my thoughts further,
"Uh hello there? What do you guys want?" A snarky high pitched voice broke my depressing thoughts with its ear grating quality.
"Muffins, Ven get a big blueberry muffin!" Poppy happily whispering into Veneer's other ear as Viva eagerly hopping as she nodded her head.
"Oh with chocolate and sprinkles!" Viva hopped as she gripped Poppy's arm excited.
"Can we get a blueberry muffin with chocolate and sprinkles on top and uhhh a extra large iced peach green tea lemonade-"
"You want that troll sized or rageon size?" The disinterested cashier popped their gum at us as Veneer rose an eyebrow before saying
"Wait there's a troll size?"
"Yeah we offer that now"
"Well then... shit..... uh we'll have-" Veneer moved and pointed at everyone as to count them before saying,
"8 we'll take 8 of those to go." The curly haired cashier then pointed at a pin-pad and veneer happily pressed the translucent card to the pad listening to a loud beep before using the buttons to enter a code. His tiny hands consuming the buttons made me chuckle as he tried to practically smack the buttons.
"Oh it feels good to use my card again!" He squeezed the plastic to him and looked at the cashier before asking,
"Heyyyyy is there anywhere here that sells troll sized clothes?" He battered his eyelashes as the overworked cashier nodded and spoke up again,
"Yeah there's a place down the street called Cute Surprises, it's troll owned." I watched as my darling was vibrating from the overwhelming joy of the idea of a shopping binge with his credit card again.
We received our muffin that we were all going to split and the drinks and moved to a table that was unoccupied by the quiet cafe.
we started chatting while sipping our ice teas with me taking a sip shivering at the sweet tangy peach flavor hitting my tongue, Veneer definitely not only had a good taste in fashion but drinks as well.
A snarky obnoxious laugh from across the cafe broke Veneer out of his happy stupor which in return caused me to be on my guard.
"Oh sweet fucking god, I didn't realize they'd be here..." my beloved's voice trailed off as the three Rageons turned and seemingly recalled him despite his new smaller fuzzier appearance,
"Hey is that Veneer!" The pale white Mount Rageons strutted over to us their hair ranging colors with one girl with peach colored hair, the one boy having rich violet hair and the third girl having green hair just like Veneer.
"Oh fuuuuuuccckkk meeee." He tried to hide his face using his hand only for the three Rageons to reach our table. I stood in front of him as he rested his chin on my shoulder silently snuggling into my neck to seek out comfort.
"Heyyyyyy guyyysss~" he moved his fingers as a greeting as he held in a cringe from how easily excited the three older Rageons were at seeing him,
"Wow i'd never thought we'd see you again since you and Velvet became famous especially since your practically tiny now." The lime green haired girl smirked as he didn't make an effort to move away from them as he only gripped tighter to me.
"Uh Yeah uhhh life's been busy with being a troll and stuff." He snipped trying to keep it sweet as he kept his grip on my vest refusing to let up. A pouty expression crossed his face as they kept prodding him,
"Oh Veneer we miss you on the church choir, no one was as excited to sing about the lords praises as you were!" The purple haired boy smiled and I rose an eyebrow at him of his involved with a church choir.
"Yeaaaahhhh about that I wasn't really that into god-" I understood where he was coming from now knowing some additional details about him.
He probably only picked the choir because he wanted a safe space from Velvet to practice his singing.
"Uh who are these guys?" John crossed his arms as he looked them over, me and John easily guarding Ven as he lightly made his way through us to introduce the three.
"Oh they're my cousins from my mom's side, Meet Shelby, Trevor and Kaylee." They were introduced in order with The peach haired one being Shelby, the purple haired boy being Trevor and the green haired girl being Kaylee.
They all had the same golden eyes as Veneer's mother with the same skin color as him, so it was definitely safe to say that they were easily all related to each other.
"Yeah, Our mom told us that you came to visit" The one named Kaylee spoke up with a less then excited expression. She picked at her nails with a smug grin that I so badly wanted to wipe off her face.
"Oh uh that wasn't-" he stammered as he shook his head.
"And you brought your boyfriend with you-" their golden eyes bore down on him as they sneered at him and he fidgeted not meeting their eyes but choosing to find his drink much more fascinating. I growled at their stares but was stopped by Veneer putting his hand on my chest before looking back at them.
"First off He's not my boyfriend, he's my brother in law and plus he only helped me get some of my stuff."
"Oh Veneer did you finally give up your sinful ways and finally settle down with a nice woman?!" The boy happily clapped as if he was proud of Veneer, before he could open his mouth to defend himself I stepped up to his three cousins,
"Excuse me?" I threw my arm out as to protect him as I snarled at the three Rageons.
"Well it's just a man being with another man is wrong according to Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13-" the grating high pitched whiny voice of Kaylee snarked as she dared to put her index finger into Veneer's chest. I smacked her probing finger away from him only for her to scoff at my attack.
"Oh don't you come at me you pussy bible thumpers especially since you guys and my Aunt love to cherry pick, choosing which part you wanna believe." He sipped his tea which he placed by his feet as he looked at his nails completely uninterested at his three cousins who surrounded him with Me and the other's watching on.
"We don't do that" Shelby was the one who spoke up first at the accusation only for a small thump of the music playing on the speakers guiding Veneer into a song.
"Oh You don't? What's this?" He walked up tugged on Kaylee's pant loop pulling it down to reveal a small butterfly tattoo on her hip,
"♪ Kaylee has a small tattoo That tattoo would be taboo~ ♪" he strutted in his true diva fashion as he placed his hands on his hips as he sung.

An eternity in the fiery pits of hell~ ♪" he turned towards the group and did jazz hands before he twirled around,
"Hey!" She pulled her pants back in place as her face flushed a inky purple color.
"♪ Shelby, you seem sweet to me But if it has come to be~ ♪" he twirled away and swayed his hips before he stopped in front of the peach haired girl and sung,
"♪ You've lost your virginity We'll be stoning you and your family as well~ ♪" he winked at her before he continued on.
"What?" Shelby snarked as her face was glowing purple at her siblings judgmental looks.

"Well, maybe he was always gay" was the one whisper I heard from Shelby as she remarked into her sister's ear,
"No he's just confused, He's just trying to confuse us too. My stepdad, your dad always says-" Trent spoke up loud only to be intercepted by Veneer,
"Oh, stepdad? Like You mean your parents are divorced?" Veneer sneered with a sickeningly sweet smile on his face as Trent grew uncomfortable at his piercing stare.
"Yeah, and?" The tall Rageon boy huffed out before Veneer was steering their hushed conversation back into his song,
"Oh, divorce is a big no-no~ Not to oversimplify But the scripture does imply~ ♪" he tapped his finger against his cheek,
"♪ That your mom will have to die How's tomorrow if she's not got any plans?~ ♪" a flutter of those eyelashes that framed his sapphire blue eyes making them stand out further made my heart swoon as he kept himself in place,
I could definitely remember seeing those thick obsidian lashes glossy with tears as I laid him down on by the lake as I-
"♪ There's no way to separate Which rules you can violate~ ♪" I flushed at his voice pulling me from my sensual perspective of the night we conceived, for my own sake I focus on his song.
"♪ Let's hope you don't masturbate 'Cause the scripture says we'll have to cut off your......" I snorted as Veneer's eyes wondered down to Trent's crotch before looked back up as he sung,
"♪ Hands~ ♪" his grossed out sneer turned into a patronizing glare as he continued to sing his song, no one interrupting him as they were too enthralled by his voice.

Something was wrong, He shouldn't be this tired especially during a song, but before I could move my hand to feel his bump, They gave him around of applause with a roll of their eyes at his performance and I could feel my eye twitching at their clearly snobbish behavior.
"That um that song was cute I guess but that doesn't change the fact that you're marrying a guy, which how are you even going to procreate?" I flashed my fangs slightly before I smirked letting my beloved get stable enough and stalked over to the edge of the table on the opposite side of the confrontation as my eyes were placed on the boiling hot cup of coffee sat on next table.
With a whip of my hair I was able to gently bring the cup over to our table and placed it down next to me.
I turned to see Veneer getting tears in his eyes and my vision turned red, I pushed to cup over to our ragtag group ignoring their confused glances and silent questions that rested on the tips of their tongues.
As I finally reached my husband with the boiling cup of coffee I could hear what the three were saying to him,
"Well then sinner, I hope you're happy and I feel bad for your husband." Oh that's it, I shoved the cup off of the table straight on the ringleader Kaylee's crotch, watching as it stained her jeans with her letting out a loud shriek as the scalding liquid hopefully gave her second degree burns.
Those large sapphires were suddenly on me as I smirked watching his cousin squeal like a pig as the other two patted her crotch with tissues as her tears fell in rapid succession down her face,
"Hey!" I drew their attention to me and watched as their expressions became sour at seeing my small form. Kaylee still crying as she tried to pull her jeans away from her body,
"I'm proud to be his husband, now how about you all piss off!" I bark at them not afraid to growl letting my chest vibrate with the harsh sound, as I tried to step closer Branch held me back and he looked to the others once I was secure,
"Cmon guys lets go" Branch tried to redirect our group and as we left, I could see Veneer softly sniffle as he smiled softly at me. As we were unleashed back into the city, I walked over to him and took his hand in mine.
"Hey you know what will make you feel better?" I pecked his cheek as we hit the sidewalk outside the cafe with him grinning slightly before kissing my cheek back.
"Oh yeah what's going to make my day better than you spilling hot coffee on that bitch?" He wrapped his arms around my neck as he softly cooed and I lifted his chin letting my thumb trace his soft lips as I leaned into his ear and whispered,
"Shopping" he instantly perked up and excitedly tugged me along with vigor blabbing about how excited he was to see this new place, his tears forgotten as I could only stare at him thinking one thing.
I love this man.
