Month Seven : Week One
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
I woke up Christmas morning to Sophie jumping up and down on my bed screaming at me to wake up.
"Little rat." I said, smiling as I grabbed her legs and dragged her onto the bed. She screamed as she came down on top of me and laughed upon rolling away.
"Andrea is downstairs and she says she has gifts for us! Let's go!" She yelled, tugging on me to get me to move, I stood up and walked out of my room with her after she dragged me out of bed. I walked down the stairs and my sister smiled upon seeing me.
"Xavier!" She yelled, opening her arms for a hug. I gratefully accepted and for the first time in a while, I felt better. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." I whispered back. I towered over her, but not by much. We both got our height genes from our father. She was about 5'10 and I was definitely 6'6 and still growing.
"We can go visit mom after we're done here. Asterin left three gifts on the porch for you all." She said as she pulled away. I smiled at her and we all sat on the floor in front of the tree.
"Can we open Asterin's gifts first?" Sophie asked with excitement.
"Of course." Andrea said with a smile. She handed out the presents and I was surprised to see I got one too. "Why do you look so shocked? She's your girlfriend, she obviously got you a gift too."
"Yeah, yeah." I said, putting on a fake smile. Sophie opened her gift first and she was very happy with what she got. She got a Minecraft axolotl stuffed animal in the color blue and almost cried. Andrea opened hers and got a journal with stars all over the cover and a note on the first page.
"Definitely a keeper, Xavier." Andrea whispered, closing the book and wiping away the tears now rolling down her face. I opened mine, taking a silent deep breath before doing so. I opened it and saw a star necklace. I wanted to cry, there was no way her gift to me was a star. I took off the lego piece necklace I always had on and attached the charm to the necklace, right behind the piece. She had the other half and when put together it created a heart.
We spent the rest of the day together just opening gifts and basking in the happiness everyone was radiating.
Month Seven : Week Two
Dress - Taylor Swift
I walked into the house with a black masquerade mask covering my eyes and a black mask covering my mouth. There were black gems that Andrea had put on both of them to make them look better. I had on black jeans and a white button down. Both Andrea and Ezra accompanied me to this party. Andrea because she wanted to see Rowan and Ezra because his girlfriend just broke up with him and he was feeling terrible about it. Me being me, I was trying to help hm because I know the feeling. Curses for being a nice person sometimes.
Andrea was wearing a red dress with a red masquerade mask on. It had a feather coming off of the side and jewels all over the openings. She looks gorgeous and I was proud to call her my sister.
"Xavier?" A ginger haired boy asked, walking up to me.
"Rowan?" I asked, making sure it was Rowan before I actually spoke to him.
"Yeah! You look so good, man!" Rowan said with a smile.
"Thanks!" I replied with a smile that couldn't be seen.
"Rowan! Where's your hot boyfriend! I wanna go check him out!" A girl said, walking up to us in a forest green dress with a mask covering her mouth and a green masquerade mask covering her eyes. Due to the dark lighting I couldn't quite make out her eye color, but her hair was short and blonde and pinned back with braids and twists. She looked beautiful.
I hated myself for that though, finding her as attractive as I did. I want Asterin, I love Asterin.
Maybe it's okay though. Maybe it's time I start moving on.
"He's my boyfriend, Ash!" Rowan laughed out.
"Ash is a pretty name for a pretty girl." I said, smiling down at her. The heels she had on put her at around 5'6 ish. "That a nickname?"
"Short for Ashlyn." She said, "Whats your name hot stuff?"
"Carson." I lied right through my teeth. I don't know why, i just felt the need to.
"Pretty name for a pretty boy." She repeated back to me. "Wanna dance?"
"I would love to." I said, extending a hand to her. She grabbed my hand and we walked further into the house hand in hand.
Every move we made together was in sync, lining up with one another perfectly.
She felt like Asterin
She made me feel just as free
She made me feel just as whole
I hated it and loved it at the same time
She twirled out before spinning back in
"You know what you're doing." I whispered.
"Ive always been one to dance, Carter." She whispered, winking at me as I held onto her hips. The kitchen was dimly lit but i could see the desire burning in her eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" I whispered, as she stared deep into my eyes.
"Kiss me." She whispered, looking up at me as I held onto her body. I tore my mask off and crashed my lips onto hers.
She felt like Asterin.
The way she moved with me screamed Asterin.
Maybe it's not time to move on, because i see her in everyone I meet.
I went to pull away but she gripped the back of my neck and pulled me harder into her. My fingers dug into her hips.
"You have a habit of lying, Carter." She whispered, pulling away and staring up at me.
"You have a habit of drawing me in, Asterin." I whispered back, breathing labored from the intensity of everything.
"I want you, Xavier." She whispered. The words sent chills down my body.
I lifted her chin with my index finger and grinned at her. Her breathing hitched and I could feel her heart racing. "Come get me then." I whispered, staring at her with passion and desire.
She pulled me back to her and we moved in sync.
It was like no time elapsed
Like we were still in June
Like we were the most bad ass couple to exist
We stumbled our way into a bedroom and if I woke up the next morning with Asterin in my arms then it was nobody's business. And if i drove her home and gave her my jacket and it was the best moment for us to end on, then that too is nobody's business.
Month Seven : Week Three

Once I heard the honk outside i walked out the front door and got in the car. We drove to the park and sat there for a moment in silence.
"I love you, Xavier." She whispered, as if the words were a crime to say.
"I know nothing can become of what happened last week, Asterin. I hurt you too much and I know that we can't run again." I whispered back, knowing she didn't want to say it.
"I don't want you to think I regret it. I want you to know I was completely sober. I had just gotten there. I wasn't high, I wasn't drunk. Everything was genuine and I don't regret a word i said or a thing we did. Please believe me."
"I do believe you, Star. If you regretted it you wouldn't have put yourself in that position in the first place."
"I put myself in a position to lose you and I regret that."
"No, no don't you dare. You didn't do anything. You didn't put me in any position. If it were up to me we'd still be together and we wouldn't be having this conversation because there wouldn't be a need to put space between us." I explained very vaguely. She needs time to heal, I can't give her the reasoning because i'll expect more than I can get. She deserved it, but right now it'll hurt us both more than we need.
"Then who did?" She asked. I could see the tears gathering in her eyes and it broke me.
"I'll explain to you when we're both ready, okay? But right now it'll do more hurting than healing and neither of us need more of that." I said, getting choked up at the thought of never seeing her again.
"I really fucking love you." She sobbed, tears rolling down her cheeks as she broke.
"Hey, i love you, Asterin. Don't question that ever." I said, tears of my own rolling down as i rested a hand on her cheek to wipe away the tears. "I love you more than you will ever imagine, Star."
She sobbed harder, bringing a hand up to grip my wrist.
I'll always love you, Star.
Month Seven : Week Four
Even Though I'm Leaving - Luke Combs
"Hey, kid, Im heading out." Andrea said, stepping into my doorway. I wiped the tears from my face and stood up to hug her. "Come see me if it gets bad okay?"
I nodded into her shoulder, new tears soaking her shirt.
"I know you're not this upset im leaving, Xavier, what's going on?"
"I miss mom." I sobbed, my walls coming down.
"She's never too far gone." Andrea said, voice breaking. "I miss her too."
"Will it always hurt this much?"
"I don't know, Xavier, but I hope not."
"I want her back."
"Me too." She whispered, hugging me tightly. I hugged back just as tightly.
