Third-Person POV:
It was lunch time so after eating her lunch with the group Lyla went to Mr.Greys office. Normally Lyla never knocked and just barged into his office which was why she didn't feel the need to knock this time. Though lyla is used to him just sitting in his chair and doing work she definitely didn't expect Mr.Grey to be standing behind his desk with his blazer off and shirt undone showing his toned upper body.
Luca was in the midst of fixing his collar when Lyla barged in. The moment he heard the door and saw Lyla with her eyes wide open looking and his shirtless upper body he quickly turned around and buttoned up his shirt as fast as he could manage to. After that he proceeded to undo his pants and tuck his shirt in neatly though done rather rapidly. Lyla walked right out of his office and went on about her day not being able to forget his half naked body.
For the hours that followed the event her mind kept going back to her professors naked and deliciously toned body. She wanted to slap herself every time seeing as how she couldn't even focus on her schoolwork.
What she didn't know was that Mr.Grey was also struggling when he was around her for most part. At first he didn't care much for her and she just annoyed the living crap out of him but she slowly started growing on him. He couldn't stop his mind from wondering off to her every time he was unoccupied.
Whenever he was just sitting there his mind wondered off to her snarky remarks, her now differently colored hair, how she laughed, how cute she looked when she started getting flustered. When teaching his eyes would always wonder to her seat during his other classes making him slightly frown when he noticed she wasn't occupying the seat.
The moment she started acting strangely after that time in his office he knew something was up with her. He remembers purposefully grabbing her chin gently just to see her act all cute and shy when he first noticed it. He noticed how she could barely focus in class at times, how she started staring at him more often, he hated that he wanted her but fighting the urge was driving him crazy. He would become painfully hard and no matter what he did he couldn't get his length down until he stroked himself to the thought of her.
He felt so bad and ashamed of himself afterwards that it was slowly draining him. When she had came to his office with her underwear showing the moment she left the office he had to close his eyes and think about everything but what he had just seen to get his excited length down. Then there were the times she accidentally flashed him along with when she stayed in underwear when she was drunk. All these memories made him sexually frustrated. He knew he could never have a relationship with a student but being drawn to her was something he couldn't even help.
After she had opened up to him he couldn't help but hold her. He knew there was more to it than what she told him but he knew not to press further, going into every detail would be more painful than it was to open up about the major events that haunted her. When she started showing him how smart she actually was he couldn't help but be even more into her. He would be cold towards her and hard on her but only because he wanted her to do better. Luca liked that she was finally letting her smarts show and doing better.
Luca couldn't help but always recall when she shouted 'suck on that Shakespeare!' in his class when she finished most of her work during their detention session. He would always smile about it and he even told Lorenzo about her. Lorenzo knew Luca was falling for Lyla but didn't say anything just letting Luca figure it out on his own. Lorenzo could see the shine in Lucas eyes when he would talk about Lyla but he just smiled at the sight not daring to mention it.
Lorenzo and Luca were at Lucas house drinking and talking just catching up. It had been a few months since Lyla decided to start doing her work, she was still stubborn and hard to deal with but he was just happy she was taking a step towards her future.
"How's your favorite student?" Lorenzo asked teasingly making Luca roll his eyes.
"I don't have favorites, but she's fine."
"How'd you know who I was speaking about?" He raised a brow catching Luca by surprise.
"She's the only student who I constantly get annoyed by and talk to you about, why would you be talking about anyone else?"
"Right..." he teased.
"She's keeping up with her classes and she doesn't look like she's fought a chicken on her way to school anymore." Luca said rolling his eyes but he couldn't bite back the smile. Lorenzo has never seen him this whipped over a girl ever in his life.
"Mmm, guess you really did change her." Lorenzo mentioned with a smirk.
"No; I just believed in her which pushed her to believe in herself." He shrugged and Lorenzo couldn't help but smile.
Lyla on the other end of this whole situation was enjoying her time away from her teacher. She officially got over whatever she was feeling for him...or so she told herself. She was ready to face her teacher and not react to him when they locked eyes or accidentally touched.
Lyla was ready to not gawk at him like she use to before along with not reacting to his subtle and gentle touches on her skin that drove her mad. That's what she told herself.
The following day rolled around and she was now sitting in class with everyone else waiting for their teacher. When he walked in and they locked eyes she was surprised at how calm she was. She didn't react how she did before and she couldn't be happier that he had no control over her...that was until he smirked at her making her heart rate increase.
The class went by rather slowly and Luca tried his best to ignore her but failed when he would glance her way more than he's use to. After the period came to an end he called her to him and she waited until the class emptied out to make her way to him.
"Sir?" His cologne got into her nose and her legs grew weak.
"You're missing about two essays that were given at the beginning of the semester, I'd like them by tonight."
"Will do." He was surprised that she wasn't snarky or rude about it but just nodded. He honestly just wanted to see her.
"Here, write down your new email so I can email you the ones you need." She nodded and wrote down her email.
"I'll get going, I don't want to be late." He nodded and she headed out. Lyla really hoped she didn't show just how much he had affected her. Especially when their fingers touched when he took the pen from her hands slowly.
They were both too good at acting since when she left she felt slightly sad that he didn't tease her more than just grazing her fingers and Luca on the other end sat back in his chair feeling slightly down that she was unfazed by his touch and gaze. His mind replayed when he touched her lip, when he touched her chin, just all the subtle touches that have affected her before.
Two stubborn people playing a dangerous game of mouse and cat though in this case they were both the cat and the mouse, they'll chase when they were ready but they'll want to be chased when they were ready as well.
Let's see who cracks first under their game of tug of war.
