Eda's Requiem Pt. 2

At the starting line, the students, competing in the Gland Prix, got ready. When Luz saw Eda walking up to her and King, she immediatly got over to her and hugged her. "Eda! So glad you could make it!"
King walked up to her and handed Eda's staff to Luz. "I, uh, would really like to tell you something before the race starts." He said nervously.
"If it's that important", Eda said and crouched down to him, putting a hand on his shoulder "we can talk about it after the race, when you win, okay?"
"Yeah, uh, okay." King said dejectedly, as Perry and Gus walked up on stage and began their speech.
"Welcome, everyone, to the Gland Prix!" Perry announced loudly, as Gus used his magic to activate the huge crystal ball behind them. "The contestants will fly down the right arm to the cubital valley", the crystal showed what he was explaining. "They use speed, cunning and magic to race to the checkpoint and back to the finish line." He picked up a wrinkled, old portal. It had a kind of humanoid face. "Winner will get their name etched on the cup of ephemeral glory-"
"All Victory is fleeting." The cup said.
"-and an on camera interview, seen by everyone who's watching across the Isles," Perry, Said excitedly. "On your mark, set..." He lifted the Cup, which began to scream, signalising the students to Beginn flying.
"Go, Baby, Go!" A demon Woman yelled and looked over to Eda. "Which one ist your's? This is so exhilarating!" She exclaimed, but Eda just looked at her with an unimpressed expression. Until her crow phone ringed.
Surprised she took it Out her hair and answered it. "Raine?" She questioned.
"We got a tip about another taid. I now you're busy but-" They began, but where cut off by Eda.
"No, it's fine. I'm on my way."

The Bats met up right in the forest, near a broken down Bridge. Amber, Katya and Derwin jumped over it to the other side, while Raine summoned their violin.
"This should be the Spot", they said and played a note on their violin, sending out an echolocation like, circular wave. After moment they looked around in confusion. "Something isn't right." Suddenly the three Bats member's, who jumped on the other side of the broken bridge, got trapped by abomination goop.
Raine and Eda quickly hid away behind a rock, as a puddled of abomination goop, closed in on The trapped bats members and turned into a male, purple haired witch. "That feels better." He said, as a smaller, child-size witch broke from the ground. He had a wild mane of auburn hair, tied into a big fluffy ponytail, and his body was covered in orange fur. "Looks like we missed a few." The abomination witch, said and stepped towards the trapped witches.
Raine gasped. "It's head witches Eberwolf and Darius."
"Which means-" Eda began.
"-we fell for their trap." Raine concluded.

Luz gasped for air and got visible again, startling a Saint Epiderm Student, causing them to fall back, allowing Luz and King to get past them.
"Haha!" King laughed and jumped on the back end of their staffs. "Saint Epiderm? More like stank epiderm!" They continued to rush towards the checkpoint, causing King to get nervous. "Might wanna slow down for that turn, Luz! We're gonna crash!"
But instead of slowing down, Luz slapped a plant glyph on the side of the checkpoint, using the summoned vines to slingshot her and King back around.

The students cheered at Luz's move, as did Principal Bump, who shot a smug grin at the other Principals.

"This place is disgusting", Darius groaned and pulled his cloak up from the mud. "Figure out which one's the turncloak so we can leave." Eberwolf
sniffed the BATS and shook his head. "Just my luck." Darius sighed and teleported the captured BATS into the comformatorium "I was scheduled for some me time today,
so hand yourself over before things get nasty." He called out and finally groaned. "I know they can hear me. I know you can hear me, Eber, help me out here."
Eberwolf extended his claws and talons, then used eye beams too find footprints leading into the forest.
"I'm not going in there" Darius Said, before Eberwolf pelted him with dirt. "Agh! What do you think you're doing? You'll regret that, mutt." Darius complained and followed him.
Up on a tree branch, Eda and Raine appeared, having used an glyph. Raine was carrying Eda bridal style, and Eda was no longer wearing her boots.
"I am glad I remembered how to do that", Eda chuckled as the glyph disintegrates. They descented into mud. "Ooh, gross." Eda complained, when her feet made contact with the mud.
"Eda, Belos' plans are a lot more dangerous than I let on." Raine admitted. "He's preparing some big spell for the day of unity, but he can't do it without every head witch. If we can take out Darius and Eberwolf..."
"Say no more, Rainestorm", Eda Said, interrupting them. "What's the plan?"
Raine summoned the lute. "You say your curse messes with magic. I think I can make that work in our favor."

Darius and Eberwolf looked at Eda's pair of boots, as they moved into a puddle of mud.
"Looks like our traitor is a clever little
songbird", Darius said and the boots kick mud onto him. He growled angrily as he destroyed Eda's boots with abomination spikes. Angrily he rushed back to the broken bridge. "All
right, no more playing around!" He screamed and turned himself into a huge abomination monster, while Eberwolf summoneda rat worms, he rode on as the two coven heads moved out to search for Eda and Raine.
The two stood behind parts of the broke down ruins and watched as Eberwolf moved away from them. Eda turned to Raine, noticed how close they were and flushed a faint blush before turning back around.
Raine summoned their instruments - their violin and Eda's lute - and soon the two started to play their song. It was a sweet moment between the two; a pinkish aura appeared around them, making smaller objects float, until Eda's curse began to interfere.
The ground beneath her began to rot, quickly spreading out and soon finding it's first victim: Eberwolf and his rat worm. Soon, Darius noticed the rot as well and smirked as he began to move towards it. "There you are", he said, but grunted in pain, when the rot began to engulf him too.
"It's working! Keep playing." Eda Said as Raine looked down, noticing that they were being engulfed by the rot too.
"Look. We may not make it out ourselves."
"But it will stop the emperor, right" Raine nodded "Then we play on." She turned around, her photo of her, King, Yn and Luz flying out of her hair. Raine saw it and widened His eyes in shock, as He watched the Photo Go to the ground.
"Eda, do you have kids?!" Eda stopped playing.
Uh, they're not mine, mine. Well, it doesn't matter. They all have real families to return to." She turned Back around and continued playing, but Raine made Eda's instrument disappear.
"I don't know what you're running from, but a great witch once told me something about punching face in the face? What I'm trying to say, don't give up so easily. They probably need you more than you realize. We can find another way to stop Belos together."
Raine was suddenly caught in abomination goo: Darius has found them.
"Found you, songbird." He started pulling them back but Eda grab Raines Hand and a a tree branch, but saw Raine about to let go of her hand.
"Raine, don't." Eda pleased, but Raine just smiled.
"Go. You know l can't stand an audience." They let go and are brought before their fellow
coven heads. "Hello, Darius. Eber."
"Raine Whispers. You'll regret what you did to my clothes." Eberwolf seemed to mutter something. "And
your treachery, whatever."
Raine began fighting the two, while Eda watches from behind a tree. She held in tears before running back to the starting line..

"Luz of Hexside and Ukula of Glandus are barreling towards the finish line! And there you have it!" Perry announced "Luz over Ukula!" Eda began to clap excitedly, until Perry continued. "For fifth place."
"Huh?" Eda made in confusion and stopped clapping.
"And now, let's give a hearty applause to our actual winner!" The top three steps up."
Luz, covered in leaves and branches, approached her mentor. "Hey, Eda."
"You were flying like the dang wind. What happened?" Eda questioned.
"We were winning for a while, but-"

"Luz?" King said, tightly holding onto the staff.
"King, try to hold it in." Luz warned.
"I can't!"
"King!"
And then King vomited.
◈◈◈
"And then we crashed."
"It's okay. I'll just throw my message into the garbage where it belongs." King said dissapointedly.
Eda thought for a moment. No, this isn't over." She then said, pulled her scroll out of her hair and started recording..
'Eda, who's even gonna watch this?" King asked.
"No one watches crystal balls anymore. It's all about streaming." Eda replied proudly.
"All right", The camera zoomed onto King as He began to read out His Message: "Hi dad. If you're out there watching this, I uh, want to introduce myself. I like cheesy foods
and conquering kingdoms. Though I haven't conquered any of my own yet. But maybe you.have, and we can compare notes. K'd love
to meet you. We could do parent kid stuff, toss a ball, burn some cookies, catch me going on weird websites or something. Also, I found a symbol in the tower I hatched in. Maybe you can teach me to read it. I live with my favorite humans and a cranky old
witch."
"Hey!"
"But cranky or not, she's the one who raised me, which is why I am le...-" He pulled out a stack of papers. "-gally changing my name to King Clawthorne! Surprise Eda! Now we're connected for life and there's nothing you can do about it!"
"Is that what you wanted to tell me
this whole time?" Eda asked, sniffing a little as she took the stack of adoption papers.
"And, if you sign here, it'll be
official." Luz said and pulled out a pen. Eda started to cry. "Eda, are youok? Eda, if you keep doing that, I'm gonna cry too!"

In the forest Raine, now injured, eas trapped in abomination goo as Eberwolf watched the stream.
"Would you shut that off. We're supposed to be tormenting Raine, not me." Darius complained, but Eberwolf just set the volume to maximum. "Why are you like this?"
While the two coven heads, were distracted, Raine managed to escape but quickly was captured again, this time by an Abomaton.
"Leaving so soon?" Kikimora said, standing atop of the abomatons shoulder.
"I told you we didn't need help. So get that ugly thing out of my face and tell Alador he's a hack while you're at it." Darius said.
"Emperor Belos was rather upset to learn that you had a hand in the recent raid incidents." Kikimora said as the abomaton moved Raine up to face her.
"Guess I can look forward to my own
petrification, huh?" Raine asked with a smirk on his face.
"No. It'd be too much of a hassle to find a replacement." Kiki activated Raine's coven tattoo, which began encasing them in a vine cocoon. "The
emperor needs you alive and well the day ofunity. But until then, night night." She Said cheerily, as Rain was fully engulfed by the vines.

And that's it, with Eda's Requiem. Yes, it was a little shorter then the other "Episode Chapters", but only because the second half of the Episode was paced to fast and I didn't want to take focus from Eda and Raine, because I Just love them too much.
So yeah, I have nothing else to say, so buh-bye, and until the next chapter.
