Tw mentions of abuse, blood
It was a month after the starcourt battle billy had almost made a full recovery and everyone had forgiven him
Steve was cleaning up his house he had just had the kids over as his parents where on a business trip. He was just about finished when he hears a loud knocking at the door, he looks at the clock which reads 11:47pm Steve goes to the door confused who would be at his house so late, he opens the door and sees billy leaning against the porch railing covered in blood.
"Billy what happened? Whose blood is that? Are you ok? What did you do?"
"Chill pretty boy, it's my blood"
"What?!?"
Steve practically pulled billy into his living room and goes to find a first aid kit, he comes back and looks billy up and down trying to find where he's bleeding from billy notices and pulls his shirt off revealing a large wound that looked as though it had been cut with a knife
Steve gasps
"What happened?"
Billy chuckles
"Oh you know Neil got a little angry"
Steve starts cleaning Billy's wound billy hisses at the sting, Steve bandages the wound.
"We should call hopper about this"
Billy sighs
" i don't want to cause drama if he can't get to me he will take it out on Susan of even max"
Steve sighs and looks at billy sadly
"Ok i understand but hopper will make sure he can't hurt them"
"Let me think about it"
Steve leads billy up the stairs
"The guest room is being repainted so you can have my bed and i can sleep on the floor."
"Or just sleep in the bed with me"
Steve nods and hands billy a pair of pyjamas billy goes to change in the bathroom. It was a fairly normal thing for billy to come to Steve for help after Neil would beat him so they basically had a system though most times billy would sleep in the guest room. Steve goes downstairs to check if he locked the doors. When he gets back to his room he sees billy fast asleep on his bed. Steve climbs into bed next to billy and falls asleep quite quickly. Steve wakes up at around 2am and realizes that billy has his arms wrapped around him hugging his tightly and shaking Steve gently rubs Billy's arm.
"billy are you ok?"
Billy sniffles
"Y-yeah I'm f-fine"
Steve wriggles out of Billy's grasp slightly and turns on the light he looks back at Billy's tear stained face
"What's wrong?"
Billy burys his face in the pillow Steve cuddles closer to him and they lay there in a comfortable silence. Billy looks back up at Steve
" i think we should tell hopper about what Neil's doing"
Steve smiles at billy without thinking billy gently kissed Steve, Steve looks up at billy surprised
"Sorry i wasn't thinking"
Steve just kissed him again Steve cuddled closer to billy. Billy reaches his arm to turn off the light
"Thank you for helping me"
"Of course"
They fall asleep cuddled close together
