I wrote this whilst watching Fear Street with my homies XD
READ ON!!!!
"Are you sure everything is alright, (Y/N)?" Kazuya asked me, his hand on my shoulder.
"I-I'm perfectly fine! Don't worry!" I scratched the back of my neck sheepishly, my face a dark shade of red.
"You look like you have a fever.... Here, let me check your temperature." Kazuya pulled out the nearest drawer, and took out a thermometer.
He pushed it gently in to my mouth, and the red line only went up a small bit.
"You don't have a temperature... then how are you so red?" Kazuya asked, placing his hand on my forehead.
"No no no, I don't. I'm just.... flattered from Hero's comment..." a small smile crept on to my face, remembering Hero's sweet words.
"I'll be single for life!" Is what I said.
He replied:
"I can change that~"
"He was flirting with you, wasn't he?" Kazuya pouted. He absolutely HATES when Hero flirts with me.
"It's alright, Kazuya!"
"No it's not! He makes you feel uncomfortable!"
"No he doesn't!"
"It's clear! You become stuttery, avoid eye contact-"
"That's because I become flustered!"
"You should tell him to stop."
"Kaz, I love it when he flirts with me!"
He went silent.
"You do?"
"I've found myself falling for him, Kazuya. I really like him!"
Kazuya tilted his head, and raised an eyebrow. "You like him... romantically?"
"Y-yes..." I replied.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier!" He chuckled. "I could've helped you!"
"Really?" I said, crossing my arms. "I thought you would be too protective to care."
"What? No way...!" Kazuya's voice trailed awkwardly.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Okay, fine. Hero isn't really my ideal person to be around..."
I sighed.
"But, don't worry! This isn't about me, it's about you. I say you tell him." He stated.
"I don't think you know how hard that is, Kaz." I giggled. He shrugged. "You're right, I don't."
"But I care about you. So I'm gonna help you. I'm also gonna make sure that that Hero boy isn't gonna make you uncomfortable." He growled at the last part.
I giggled. "You're such a dad, Kazuya!"
"We're parents of each other. Our original parents didn't love us, so we promised to become each other's new guardian, remember?"
"I do remember." I replied. "Thanks for keeping that promise, Kazuya."
"Anything for you, (Y/N)."
We gave each other a quick and soft hug.
Later on that day, I had asked Hero to meet me in Brewster's cafe (TO CELEBRATE THE NEW ACNH UPDATE AYYYYE). I had done it without Kazuya's permission too, JUST in case he wanted to be nosy-
The small bell rang, and I looked up to see the hero himself standing there, putting a conversation on the talk, navy owl.
I could already feel my face heating up.
When Brewster and Hero's conversation finished up, he came over to the small table I was sitting at, and pulled out his chair.
"Dang it. I wanted to be here before you so that I could do that manly thing where I pull out your chair for you." He said.
I giggled. "And why'd you wanna do that?"
"To show you that I'm boyfriend material."
With me being me, and madly in love with the hero, I started blushing a light pink.
"G-geez, Hero... thank you!"
"You sound like Morty." He told me.
"How do I sound like Morty?" I laughed.
"Y'know the way in the actual show that he always stutters and says 'geez'?"
"Oooh." I said in realisation. Okay, now I was REALLY embarrassed.
"It's cute though. Not the wat the actual character does it, but the way you do it." He beamed.
"Thank you, Hero." I smiled back.
"You say 'thank you' too much, and it's no problem. Anything for you." He replied.
Brewster came over with his normal notebook and pen. "Anything special between you two lovebirds today?"
Our faces burned up immediately.
"W-what? N-no!" I smiled sheepishly.
"I mean, unless it is, unless it isn't." Hero said.
Brewster chuckled. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"You know what it's supposed to mean." He gave Brewster a mischievous grin, making him chuckle again.
"Anyway, what'll it be for the man and madame?" He asked, clicking his pen.
It was getting in to winter, so Hero and I felt like a ice hot drink. To me, hot drinks always remind me of Christmas.
Brewster took down my order of [insert hot drink of choice], and Hero's white hot chocolate.
(My family are real country people, so we call black currant juice with hot water a 'hot juicy baba'. I'm sorry, my slang to you must be the most confusing thing on earth XD. This just came in to my head as I was writing the paragraph above)
"Just for the occasion, I'll give you both a packet of ginger nuts." Brewster winked.
"Oh, thank you, Brewster!" I exclaimed. "Yeah, thanks!" Hero smiled.
"They'll be ready within minutes." He gave Hero a thumbs(?) up.
"Just before you go, Brewster, congratulations on your promotion to Animal Crossing New Horizons!" I congratulated him.
"How sweet of you, (Y/N). I have you know that I already love it!" He replied, before walking off to get our order ready.
"So." Hero said, trying to spark up a conversation. "How's everything with your 'dad'?"
"Oh, you mean Kazuya?" I answered. "He's a great guardian, he really is, but can get quite protective at times."
Hero tilted his head. "Protective? Over what?"
"Most of the time it's over you!" I giggled. Hero chuckled.
"Because I can never take my eyes off you?"
Dang it! I'm blushing again!
"I-I guess so!" I pulled my scarf up to cover my face.
"Don't cover your face, (Y/N)! I want to marvel your beauty!" Hero practically lunged over the table to pull my scarf down.
I looked up at him, to see him smiling softly.
I looked in to his eyes for a few moments, savouring every moment. I watched as the sparkles in his pupils danced around.
He started leaning in a bit closer... and closer... and closer...
"Orders up!" I heard Brewster call.
Hero pounced back on to his chair immediately. "That wasn't what it looked like!" He threw his arms up in defence.
"I'm gonna pretend I believe that." Brewster smiled. Hero pouted.
"Anyway, for madame (Y/N)." Brewster placed a mug in front of me. "And for the hero." He placed another mug in front of Hero.
I looked down at my mug, to see a serviette covering the top. I raised my brow in confusion.
"Brewster, why's there a serviette covering the top?" I asked.
Brewster sent me a wink. "You'll see."
He put down the packet of ginger nuts between us.
"I need to go assist other customers now. Have fun!" Brewster wandered over to another table, where Villager a at is Toon Link were sitting.
I took hold of the corner of the small tissue, and yanked it off.
It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the message written on it in cocoa powder.
'Be mine?' It said inside a love heart.
"I asked Brewster to put that in... for me... to ask you..." Hero suddenly found the table quite interesting.
I smiled. "Hero, you really feel that way about me?" I asked him.
"Of course I do. I have for a long time." He said, finally receiving the courage to look me in the eye.
I leaned over to him, and gave him a hug. He hugged back.
"I love you too..." I whispered in his ear.
He chuckled. "I've fantasised you saying that so many times..."
Suddenly, he grabbed me by the waist, and lifted me over the table to sit beside him.
I was surprised at this very sudden action.
He stared in to my eyes, the same way that he did earlier. It was just as magical, but the feeling to it was more romantic.
"...may I?" He asked, glancing down at my lips.
I knew exactly what he wanted, and allowed him.
As soon as our lips met, I had felt like a different person. More confident, I was.
I kissed him back, making him smile a bit.
When we pulled away, he said; "hey, (Y/N), isn't that Kazuya?" He posted at the window.
I looked in the direction he was pointing, and what I saw was the one thing I didn't want to see at this current moment.
A fuming Kazuya.
In fact, he was so angry, that he was in his demon form.
"I gotta go sort this out..." I scrambled over to the door, to have an un-exciting conversation with Kazuya.
Hero laughed as he watched me fling myself out of the cafe. "That's my (Y/N)."
