Daphne's POV
It was the next day and I woke up and got ready for the day. Pansy and Abigail were still asleep. Probably because I woke up early to help with the cabinet. I made my way to the room of requirements and saw Mattheo and Draco working. Mattheo was led down on the couch just watching. When Draco saw me he just rolled his eyes and sat on the couch making Mattheo move.
"Go on then" he says looking at me "have a go at it"
I do just that. I work on the cabinet for about an hour by myself. They just watched. I got really tired from all the energy I lost, so I stopped and walked over to the couch and sat down.
"Weak" Draco whispers, but I heard him.
"Shut up Draco" I say looking at the floor.
"What?" He questions "you are. You only worked for an hour" he paused "pathetic"
I couldn't handle how he was treating me. I didn't think I deserved this. I shot up out of my seat and looked at him.
"Honestly, I understand why you hate me, I really do. But that doesn't mean you get to treat me like this ok" I shout before walking out.
I made my way to the great hall where I was greeted by all my friends.
"Hey" I say sitting down next to Abigail.
"Hey" Abigail says "where were you this morning?" She asked.
"Oh" I pause "you know just on a walk had to clear my head"
That's when they entered. They looked so tired. I couldn't really see that until they entered, the light shinning onto their faces. Mattheo's curly brown hair flowed down onto his forehead and his hazel eyes sparkled. God, I forgot how hot he was.
"Staring is rude" he says with a smirk sitting next to me.
"I-um. I wasn't staring" I say looking away from him. He grabbed my face and made me look at him, he tucked a price of hair behind my ear while looking straight into my eyes and said "i know you were. It's ok, I would stare at me too"
I just scoffed and rolled my eyes looking away from him, getting out of his grip saying "cocky much"
"What" he says "I'm hot"
"Keep telling yourself that" I say looking at him smirking.
"I don't have to" he says smirking looking at me "at least two girls say it to me everyday"
"Well they're obviously fucking blind" I say rolling my eyes. I couldn't help but notice out the corner of my eye, him staring at me smiling then looking away shaking his head slightly. That made me smile and blush a little before Abigail said something "you down Daphne?"
"Hmm what?" I ask. I'm so confused.
"The party today" she paused and I just shrugged not knowing what she's going on about "you're coming with us right?"
"Oh" I paused "um sure" I say smiling.
"Good" she said before going back to the conversation they were all having.
It was time for second period so I started to walk to defence against the dark arts, my least favourite lesson. It was so boring and useless. Honestly, I don't understand why we have it, it's not like we learn anything from it. Plus the teacher is such a bitch, don't understand how she got herself hired in the first place. I walked in and sat down at the back in the corner. A few minutes later, Mattheo walked in. He sat next to me like he did before I disappeared.
"You know she is going to have a go at you for sitting there" he says.
"Why?" I ask facing him, crossing my arms.
"Because that's someone else's seat" he says
"Well" I pause looking forward "I guess she will just have to deal with it. Plus, wouldn't you rather sit next to me than whoever sits here?"
"That's true" he says smirking looking forward. "I'd rather sit next to you than that Weasley"
After mine and Professor Umbitches argument, she finally gave up and let me sit there. I always win these arguments, I don't know why they even bother.
"You're very persuasive" Mattheo whispers to me.
"I know" I say looking at him "I can persuade people to do a lot of things" I don't know what has come over me today but I've felt something I never really feel. Confident. I was confident about who I was and what I did. It was a weird feeling but I liked it, it was different.
"I'm sure you can, Love" he says looking at me. I started to blush at that so I quickly looked forward while biting my bottom lip. He chuckled a little and looked forward to.
It was last period and we were just dismissed. I was so relieved. Finally I could just go to the common room and chill ou- oh shit. No I can't, I have to work on the fucking cabinet with those dick heads. God I can't be asked, I just want to have a nice time with my friends. I haven't seen them that much since I've come back. After a bit of debating, I just went to the room of requirements. Draco and Mattheo were working on the cabinet so I just sat on the couch crossing one leg over the other.
"We'll come on then" Draco said looking at me "help us"
"Fuck no" I say looking at them both.
"Why not?" Draco says getting obviously pissed.
I smirked "because I don't want to that's why"
Mattheo couldn't help but let out a little laugh. Draco looked at Mattheo with a dirty look, this was quite amusing. Soon after, I did start helping but by that time Draco had stopped and was sleeping on the couch.
"I swear he doesn't do anything but sleep on that damn couch" I say breaking the silence.
