"it's nice to meet you too!"

you bowed politely to oikawa's parents, slightly surprised at their warm welcome.

"come on y/nnn," oikawa pouted as you shook his parents' hands.

you walked inside, followed by oikawa who had insisted on carrying your suitcases.

you still had no idea what the fuck you were doing in toru oikawa's house.

you told yourself that you would've been staying with annoying ass friends (KIDDING. we stan our besties) either way—it was just the difference of your chaotic best friends versus your playboy online friend.

when oikawa had first told you about staying with him, your automatic and immediate response was no.

because how could you stay with someone you've technically only met on the same day?

but the more you thought about it, the more you realized that advantages that came with his offer—or rather, his dEmAnD.

staying at his house meant that you didn't have to spend extra money on the hotel (gotta save up for those kpop albums yk?), and you told yourself that maybe some bonding time with oikawa wouldn't be so bad.

besides, it wasn't as if you're uncomfortable around oikawa either—you felt basically the same around him as you would with your best friends anyways.

as a result, you had agreed to stay in his extra guest bedroom.

and to be honest, it's not like you really had a choice to it anyways... apparently atsumu didn't even book your name at the hotel so your choices were between sleeping on the streets or in oikawa's house.

"y/n here's the guest bedroom!" oikawa grinned, opening a door to reveal a clean and tidied room.

it was a cute room.

there was a small desk by the window, with a small bed on one side of the room. there was also a small tv lined up on the wall, and it was definitely livable.

in fact, it seemed even better than normal hotel rooms.

"sorry...it's not great i know," oikawa said apologetically. "but you can always stay in my room if you don't like it here."

he winked at you, causing another eye roll from your behalf.

once a playboy, always a playboy.

"don't worry about me," you smiled, ignoring his comment. "this room's perfect."

as you looked around, you thought to youself that maybe staying at oikawa's house won't be the worse thing that's ever happened to you.

"are you his girlfriend?"

you laughed at the mere thought of it.

"of course not," you immediately replied to takeru after you stopped chuckling. "i'm his online friend."

"oh, that's what i thought," takeru said. "i knew he couldn't have pulled someone as pretty as you."

you tried to hold in a laugh as oikawa threw his pillow at his younger nephew, who came over to visit after dinner.

"for your information," oikawa glared at takeru, "i could pull her if i tried hard enough. and nobody asked for your opinion either way."

you raised your eyebrow in amusement. "why are you arguing with your cousin?" you asked the fuming oikawa. "he's literally like ten years younger than you."

"he's annoying. ignore him."

you grinned at takeru, who stuck his tongue out at oikawa. "just because the truth hurts doesn't mean that i shouldn't have said it—"

but before takeru could even finish his sentence, oikawa had already picked him up and threw him—not in a literal sense—out of the room.

goddamn his nephew is a savage--

oikawa sat back down on the guest bed, an annoyed look on his face.

"stop pouting."

"i'm not pouting."

"yes you are," you sighed. "why did you have to get so worked up?"

"because."

"stop fuming," you yawned. "it's not like what he said could actually hurt you."

why does he care so much that his nephew was talking about me?

it's not like he would actually try and "pull" me anyways.

but oikawa didn't reply.

instead, he pulled out his phone and started typing.

bITCH istg if you keep ignoring me😐

you were just about to lie on the ground and probably take a nap, when oikawa suddenly threw his phone on the bed and stared at you.

"what?" you questioned, yawning again as the mental exhaustion from the long day was finally starting to sink in.

"let's watch a movie."

you sat up, slightly interested. "which one?"

"i don't care."

you groaned. "can you stop sounding so mad?"

why did he have to take everything so seriously? rip my patience😁

oikawa looked thoughtfully at you. "okay," he smiled mischievously again. "then come here."

"what? i am here you dumb shi—"

"let's cuddle?"

you were taken aback. you raised your eyebrow skeptically. "why?"

he smiled. "because we're watching a movie."

you thought about it for a moment. it wasn't as if you haven't ever cuddled with your best friends.

and cuddle fests were relaxing.

anyhow, it's not like cuddling with a friend like oikawa could do any harm.

"okay," you agreed, getting up. "but instead of a movie, let's watch run bts."

kageyama's pov--

"earth to kageyama."

kageyama looked over at his friend, who was calling him for the hundredth time.

"hm?" kageyama asked. "sorry did i zone out again?"

atsumu sighed. "tobio-kun concentrate! we're trying to beat them in battleship!"

suna threw a pillow at atsumu. "you're not going to beat us in battleship."

"when is omi coming back?" atsumu groaned, pulling out his phone.

kageyama had arrived at the hotel (that atsumu told him to book) about an hour ago, and they were now playing battleship—kageyama and atsumu versus suna and osamu—while waiting for sakusa (who had also flew to miyagi) to return with the food.

kageyama had taken the train from his house earlier that afternoon, and to be honest, he was glad for the hangout.

it would distract him from the dilemmas that constantly filled his mind.

"this is fucking boring," suna sighed. "let's do something else."

kageyama helped put away the battleship game as he asked atsumu, "what's the plan for the week?"

"we have tomorrow to do whatever we want, but i have secret plans for us to do after that," atsumu grinned.

honestly idrc what we do.

"hey kageyama," suna called over to him after throwing the battleship game at atsumu. "i have a question."

"yeah?"

"what's going on with you and y/n?"

damn, this is not the distraction i hoped for😁

kageyama sighed. "nothing."

but suna merely scoffed. "don't bullshit me. i know there's something happening and i want to know what it is."

kageyama debated on a lie, but he didn't know what to say.

he just didn't want to think about her right now.

"nothing," kageyama repeated flatly.

"stop the fucking bullshit," suna groaned. "i want to know why she's replaced you with her annoying ass online friend."

what?

"what?" kageyama looked over at suna.

he remembered reading through the groupchat messages that she had been texting someone new—but he didn't think that she was replacing him.

"oh didn't she tell you?" suna yawned, not sensing the dangerous glare kageyama was forming. "she made this new online friend a while ago and she was facetiming him every day. he's fucking annoying as hell."

but kageyama had stopped listening.

pure anger and fury soared through his veins as he heard suna's words.

so she's replacing me now, huh?

bitch.

"i'm sure kageyama and y/n are still fine and are good friends," atsumu said to suna. "but some friendships are just not meant to be contacting daily."

"well i preferred kageyama rather than that fucking playb—" suna started, but atsumu interrupted him.

"let's change the conversation," atsumu groaned. "it's not for us to decide what makes y/n happy."

so this other online friend 'makes her happy'?

kageyama was clenching his fist so tight that almost all circulation had stopped entering his hand.

"no we're not stopping this conversation," suna snapped. "why didn't you tell us y/n was going to be stayi—"

but once again, before suna could finish his sentence, he was interrupted again.

except this time, it was because the door of their hotel room opened abruptly.

"miya fucking atsumu," sakusa breathed dangerously. "why the fuck did you give me a list of items to buy from wendy's that weren't even on the fucking menu?"

atsumu couldn't hold back his laughter. "you didn't realize?"

"of course i didn't fucking realize!" sakusa snapped. "i don't eat trash food like wendy's."

however, kageyama was zoned out again.

nobody in the room seemed to realize the anger boiling inside kageyama, or his deathly glare.

but the person the glare was meant to go to was unfortunately not in the room.

because how would tobio kageyama have known that in that exact moment, the exact girl who was in his mind was spending time with her other number buddy, cuddled up and watching run bts?
