Minutes later, Bruce, Tony, Thor, and Steve entered the room, all donning protective suits. Confusion and fear swirled inside me as I watched them approach.
Y/n: "What are you doing?"
Bruce: "As Tony said, we need to run some tests."
Their presence made me uneasy, and I couldn't help but seek shelter under the bed.
Steve: "Come out, missy!"
Y/n: "No!"
Tony: "Come on, pretty please. It won't hurt... well, maybe just a little, but it's for science, I promise."
Steve intervened, pushing Tony aside, and my fear only intensified.
Thor: "We won't do it the hard way, I swear."
Y/n: "NO! I CAN'T TAKE THESE DAMN TESTS ANYMORE! CAN'T I JUST BE ALONE WITHOUT BEING A LAB RAT?"
Steve: "Y/n Barnes Rogers, I said come out NOW!"
Despite his stern tone, I clung to my hiding place, resolute in my refusal.
Y/n: "And I said NO!"
Suddenly, strong hands gripped my arm, pulling me out from under the bed. It was Tony, holding me firmly in place as Bruce approached with a syringe.
Y/n: "No, no, no, no!"
Steve: "Tony, let her go!"
Tony: "What?!"
Steve: "Let. Her. Go. Now!"
Finally released, I found comfort in Steve's protective embrace, but my heart still pounded with fear. Bruce proceeded with the blood test, and I couldn't help but whimper in pain.
Steve: "Shhh, shhh, baby..."
The tests continued, and anxiety gnawed at me until I couldn't bear it any longer. I collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath, and everything went black.
~In the hospital, 2 PM~
Doctor: "Miss, do you hear me? Hello?"
Slowly, I opened my eyes, trying to make sense of my surroundings. The doctor gently pushed me back when I attempted to sit up.
Y/n: "W-where am I?"
Doctor: "You're in the hospital. You had quite a scare. We need to run some more check-ups, okay?"
I nodded weakly, still feeling disoriented and frightened.
~1 hour later~
I stirred, only to find my dad standing at my bedside. Seeing his concerned expression made tears well up in my eyes.
Y/n: "Where were you?"
Bucky: "At home. How are you feeling?"
Y/n: "Good... I think."
Steve: "Ready to go home?"
The idea of going back to the compound terrified me, and I couldn't hold back my emotions any longer.
Y/n: "That's not my home!"
Steve: "Y/n-"
Y/n: "NO! Listen, okay? That's not my home. 1) I'm locked in a cell like an animal, and 2) I can't do anything!"
My frustration spilled over as I poured out my feelings, but my dad insisted on discussing it later.
Y/n: "Oh, how will I get to the compound? I mean, I have Corona!"
Bucky: "With the protection suit."
The thought of wearing that suit only added to my distress, and I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
Steve: "Hey!"
Feeling overwhelmed, I headed back downstairs, seeking solace in my friend Mia's company.
Y/n: "I can't do this anymore. It's too much..."
Mia tried to reassure me, but I felt like I was drowning in despair.
Mia: "Y/n, it will be okay! Remember what you said: 'Bitch, I don't give a fuck about them!'"
Y/n: "But-"
Mia: "No! Don't listen to them!"
I considered escaping to the bathroom, but Peter entered the room before I could.
Y/n: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Peter: "I don't care if you have Corona! I love you! And everyone does!"
His unexpected declaration only brought tears to my eyes, but I tried to push him away, feeling overwhelmed by the emotions surrounding me.
In a frenzy, I ran from the room, escaping to a nearby field where I could find some semblance of peace amidst the chaos inside me. My heart ached, and I struggled to catch my breath as I lay there, desperate for the world to give me a break.
