It's a hot day during a brief reprieve from studying, so Em and I are on the couch playing video games together naked.
"I'm in the mood for-"
Emery slides off the couch to his knees.
"For tacos. Damn, you're too good to me."
Emery tips his head back and laughs before crawling up to press our foreheads together.
"When we're married, I'll take such good care of you," he grins.
This distracts me for a bit, but half an hour later I have a recurring craving for tacos. He just made my favourite broccoli salad earlier today, but I work up an appetite very quickly at the rate I'm working out.
"Yo, can you make tacos?"
"I don't know how."
"Can you learn?"
"Yeah, I should be able to."
"Nice! I'm really craving them."
"Right now?"
"That'd be great."
"Okay; I'll just need to get my phone so I can look it up."
I study while he cooks. School is fucking stressful. The human body is wonderfully beautiful but wonderfully complex.
Afterwards, we watch a movie while eating dinner. Emery and I have a Friday movie night tradition. No matter how busy we are, we commit to it. I've always loved movies. On the one hand, Emery says I shouldn't look to movies so much for behavioural cues because the characters aren't always good influences. On the other hand, our movie nights are the only reason I'm still sane.
