"kageyama! get off your fucking phone and listen to daichi!"
shocked, everyone looked over at suga. did those words really come out of his mouth just now?
"sorry," kageyama said, putting his phone away after a texting a quick 'bye' to her.
currently invited to a training camp with the tokyo schools, the karasuno team gathered around their captain, wondering what the hell was happening.
shortly after they arrived at nekoma, where the camp was being held, daichi had gotten an announcement from their coach. and daichi had immediatley went over to suga, with a look of anger and embarrasment on his face.
suga now shared the same look as their captain, and the excited atmosphere of the room quickly faded away as the team realized it couldn't have been good news.
"as we all know, nationals are coming up in a month," daichi began, struggling to keep his voice calm. he looked mad; scary mad.
"and we had this special opportunity, to have another training camp here in tokyo, with nekoma, fukurodani, and many other powerhouse schools. and we are lucky that we were even able to participate here on such short notice."
"thanks to author-chan and the help of our coaches," suga put in.
everyone looked at suga as if he was mad. who the fuck is author-chan?
"are they high?" noya whispered to tanaka. half the team snorted at noya's comment. unfortunatley for them, suga had overheard and silenced them with a glare.
"and most of you are most likely wondering where hinata is," daichi continued.
"i thought he was sick," kageyama interrupted, a questioning look on his face.
right before they had left to nekoma, hinata had texted in their groupchat that he was sick and won't be able to attend the camp. he had also said that he'd be sick for the next two weeks and wouldn't be at school either.
kageyama found this odd—he'd thought that the tangerine wouldn't miss a training camp for anything. was he sick bad?
"well, he's not," daichi growled. the team looked confused at him.
"wha-" everyone began, but suga silenced them.
"coach ukai has informed me earlier," daichi said slowly, "that hinata is not in fact sick, but he has been suspended for the next two weeks. and he's not allowed to do any extra-cirricular activities for the time being."
"what?" tsukishima scoffed. "how the fu-"
"he helped shiratorizawa kidnap oikawa." suga breathed dangerously.
everyone blinked, not processing what suga had just said.
"excuse me, what?" kageyama asked. he thought he had misheard suga the first time.
"i said that hinata helped. shiratorizawa. kidnap. oikawa." suga repeated angrily.
"you're joking," noya gaped at him.
"no, i'm sadly not," suga said through clenched teeth.
"how exactly, did he do that?" kageyama asked, feeling as if he wanted to punch hinata.
"they had gone to oikawa's house at night and brought him to shiratorizawa's gym. honestly i don't even know the details," daichi responded in an exasperated voice.
"that dumbass," kageyama groaned.
"way to go shoyo!" noya laughed with tanaka.
"this isn't funny!" suga glared at the pair of them. "apparently, a news reporter got ahold of this information-"
"a news reporter?" ennoshita interupted. "why?"
"you know how famous ushiwaka is," daichi sighed. "now we're going to be the laughing stock at every tournament again."
"that fucking idiot." tsukishima, who was normally calm and composed, looked as if he was about to explode. everyone on the team—except noya and tanka—looked the same way.
"let me text him," tsukishima said in a dangerous voice. "he's so fucking dead."
tsukishima looked over at kageyama as he said this.
kageyama was the only one that still had his phone; suga had done the ✨mOm tHinG✨ and said that this was another important team bonding exercise, and as a result, took everyone's phone to be locked up for the weekend. but, because of the whole fiasco that always seem to happen when kageyama's phone is taken, suga had allowed kageyama to keep his.
kageyama, who had learned his lesson about trusting this team, had sworn that he was was never letting a single one of them touch his phone.
however, this was a different story tonight.
"go ahead," kageyama said, handing tsukishima his phone. "you better knock some sense into his thick skull."
as much as kageyama wanted to be the one that scolded hinata, he knew that from the dangerous look on tsukishima's face, that he would give no mercy. zero fucking mercy. plus, tsukishima looked like he was going to grab kageyama's phone from him whether he had consent or not.
kageyama felt slightly bad for what's coming for hinata, but that faded away quickly as he remembered what hinata had done.
"f in the chat for hinata," noya whispered as tsukishima started typing. everyone agreeed silently.

"since when did hinata start swearing?" tsukishima asked.
the karasuno team had gotten bored of watching tsukishima angrily type, and have all started doing their own things again when his comment caught their attention.
"hinata swears?" suga asked in disbelief.
"apparently so," tsukishima replied. "and he's fucking leaving me on delivered."
"hm. he's never sweared when i've texted him before," kageyama stated.
"let me see the messages," suga began, holding out his hand. "why is he leaving you on delivered?"
"good. that means that he's learned his lesson," daichi said approvingly.
remind me to never get on daichi's bad side, kageyama thought. he's scary.
"ooh i wanna see what he said too!" noya chortled, crowding around suga.
the whole team except kageyama and tsukishima were looking over suga's shoulders, interested in what tsukishima had said.
"don't you want to see, kageyama?" noya asked.
"i really couldn't care less," kageyama replied. "i'm scolding him again later anyways."
kageyama was thinking to himself of how stupid that orange-haired boy was while the team read through the messages, when suga said something that got his attention.
"your contact name for hinata is 'dumbass'?" suga laughed. "honestly, i'm not even surprised. but tsukishima! you went a little too far, don't you think?"
"too far? please. he's the one that went too far," tsukishima said innocently, without a trace of regret in his voice.
"wait, what did you just say?" kageyama asked, his blood suddenly running cold.
"i said that tsukishima went way too far! he was saying that we don't actually like him, and he's a disgrace and everyth-" suga went on, but kageyama interuppted him.
"no, i meant about the contact name."
"hm? oh, i said that it's funny that his contact name is 'dumbass' since that's what you usually call hinata."
and that's when the realization hit.
oh fucking shit.
immediately, kageyama stood up and grabbed the phone out of suga's hand.
"hey! what're you doing?" suga asked him.
scrolling quickly through the messages, kageyama knew.
"that wasn't hinata."
