Gideon POV
It's lunchtime, but Mew's meeting is still not finished. I'm pretty hungry already, so I eat at the cafeteria. I love eating here, unlike the food in a fancy restaurant. What I love here is their food that tastes like home. Also, even if I already have a prestigious position in this huge company, I'm still a simple guy who loves simple things.
It is why I haven't taken my shares yet in the corporation. I don't want it to be exact! It is only Uncle Luke and Auntie Vanessa who keeps on pursuing me to claim it. I'm content with what I have! I'm only using my salary as COO for my daily expenses, which is more than enough, especially now that I live with Mew. I don't have to worry about the house rent, water, electricity, or other utility bills because Mew insisted that he'll be the one to pay for everything. So, all in all, I must worry about our food and my other life emergency needs only. Additionally, I'm not a luxurious person, so I don't need to have a large amount of money. I also have my savings, which is very fulfilling as I couldn't do that when I was just a student and doing some part-time jobs.
As I was eating, I was shocked and confused because an employee approached me. I think he is new here because if he is not, he will never have the guts to go near me. I can't if I'm in his position.
"Hi, are you alone?" This guy asked me while carrying his food tray.
"Ahhh, yes? Can I help you?" I tried to be civil with him; thankfully, there were few other employees in this canteen.
"Can I sit with you? I'm quite new here, and I don't have anyone to sit with for lunch, so can I?" He asked while smiling at me widely—he was cute. Did he just ask me if he could eat with me? In fairness, he is adorable! Fuck! Did I say he is cute? Erase! Erase! I just smiled at him and spoke.
"Okay, no problem" I guess it's all right. This guy is sitting at my table, and we aren't sitting by each other. I had to be civil, or else they'll be a rumor again about me being rude, and I don't want that to happen.
"Okay, Thanks!" he said and proceeded to sit in front of me. I continued to eat my lunch, but I got interrupted again when this guy spoke. Is he planning to eat or continue to talk to me if he chooses to speak to me, I may need to transfer to a different seat. I don't have time to deal with him, but of course, I cannot say this!
"Ahhh, May I know where department you are from?" he suddenly asked.
"Ahh, from the COO!" I casually said without looking at him.
"Oh, nice, I heard the COO is super nice and young; by the way, I'm Logan, and you are?"
"Gideon!" I just said casually. Gosh! I want to eat peacefully, but this guy is not letting me!
"Oh, your name is the same as COO! What a coincidence!" he said, looking amused by my name. I'm the COO, silly. Of course, I didn't tell him because he had already disturbed me! I will tease this innocent new guy a little! It will be an epic joke to him once he knows I'm one of his bosses.
