Chapter IX

She was on her way to her locker nang sumalubong sa kanya si Brad. 

"Hey! How's your weekend?"

Nilampasan niya lamang ito at hindi pinansin. 

Napakunot naman ang noo ni Brad habang sinusundan siya. 

"What's with the coldness?"

"Wala naman."

Once she opened her locker door, a stalk of rose fell. She picked it up and read the small note attached to it.

"Kanino galing yan?"

"None of your business."

But before she could put the rose back to her locker, naagaw na ito ni Brad and read the note.

"Daniel? Since when were you ever close?"

She grabbed the rose again and put it back into her locker.

"Just recently."

"Nanliligaw ba siya sa'yo?"

"Yes."

"Wait, you're supposed to be my girlfriend right?"

"Pretend girlfriend if you can remember."

"What?"

"Well, you never said it was for real. It was a favor that I owe you."

"Are you kidding me?"

Mabilis pa rin itong sumunod sa kanya. As she sat down on the empty seat, he sat down beside her too.

"You do know my brother is a teacher here right?"

"You'll blow my cover if he learns that
you and that Daniel are fooling around."

"Fooling around? As far as I know, nagpapanggap lang tayo. So wala akong sabit."

"Oh come on. You know what we were doing."

"No I don't, you ambushed me. At tsaka isa pa, bakit ba big deal sa'yo na may manligaw sa akin?"

"Because we're pretending to be something."

"Then let's pretend when they are around. Other than that, pwede rin naman siguro ako'ng mag-enjoy sa buhay ko di ba?"

"Well, I am not stopping you from enjoying your life. Just not this whole fiasco of your courtship."

"Sorry, it's still my life. So I still get to decide."

"Wait, sino ba 'tong manliligaw mo? I have to atleast know who it is."

"Not really. I don't think you have to know."

Maya-maya lang ay lumapit si Daniel sa kanya with a huge smile in his face.

"Hey. How are you?"

"I'm great."

"Wait this Dofus is your suitor?" nakatingin si Brad sa kanya and not even paying attention to the guy who just arrived.

"Yes. But that should be none of your business."

"It is my business."

Natigagal si Daniel sa pagtatalo nila.

"Do you guys need some privacy?"

Napangiti naman si Julie nang haraping muli si Daniel.

"Can you give just five minutes with this asshole here? Please?"
