Part 23: the day of the dance is it still on or cancelled?!

"Wake up vanna wake up!! U know how long u have been sleeping?" Connor was shaking me.
"No." I rolled over.
"Have u been crying? Anyway u have to leave in like 4 hours for the dance when is ur step dad coming?." He came in an sat on the edge of the bed.
I sat up starting to sob.
"What wrong I didn't mean to upset u whatever u did." connor seemed concerned.
"No connor it's fine I need to stick it up I'm not a little kid anymore but my stepfather isn't gonna make it so everything is cancelled I appreciate everything UR mom has done and u waking me up." I wiped tears off of my cheek.
"OMG in so sorry , would it help if I took u downstairs to get u something to eat?." He asked.
"That'd be nice. and later I've kinda missed hearing guess I'll be the one could maybe u guys sing that? It's alright if not." I questioned.
"Yeah I miss singing that too come on u head downstairs I'll get toby." I walked downstairs .
"Woah vanna u alright?" Mrs mcdonough asked.
"Are u crying?" Riley asked.
"Um I was and I'm ok tho and thanks so much mrs McDonough for the dress and all but it's all cancelled." I told them.
"What do u mean its cancelled?" She asked.
"Delay for the airport." I said holding back tears I hadn't seen dad in so long.
"Omg that's so sad!" Riley said putting his arm around me.
"Omg are u ok connor explained everything?!" Toby came running down the stairs.
"Yeah it's fine I was just kind of looking forward to it it's not like anybody died so I should just get over it and stop acting like a 5 year old." I said aloud
"No it's alright I had some of the same moments but for different situation." Mrs McDonough said.
"Thanks guys do u mind if I take a walk on the beach refresh a bit." I said.
"Sure yeah it's alright." riley and connor agreed to mrs McDonough.
"Toby would u mind coming with me it's alright if not." I asked.
"Um sure yeah I would Lov too." he grabbed my hand and we headed out the door.
"I really appreciate everything u and ur family has done for sierra and I it means a lot when I'm not with my blood family." I smiled
"Awww we don't mind it's the best we can do for a girl like u." Toby said and kissed me "I know we haven't really had time to go out and do much and it's been crazy but I just wanted to say I Lov u." He added.
"I Lov u too toby James." I said.
"Please call me toby McDonut." We both laughed.
"Feeling a little better?" Toby asked.
"Yeah I guess so being with u and the guys UR parents and all make me feel like I'm in another home." I said.
"Glad u feel that way." toby said picking up a sea shell and putting it in my hand.
"U guys have like the best sea shells compared to ocean city." I said.
"Really? I thought ours were the worse they are almost always broken." toby stated.
"Yeah same in ocean city the way I see it. anyway should we head back it's getting kind of late." I said.
We headed back and i noticed it was 1 hour until the dance would start and hoping maybe it was just a joke or a surprise change. nope.
"Vanna I think the guys want u downstairs connor said something about singing u guess I'll be the one." mrs Joan said.
"Ok." A little excitement hit me.
I headed downstairs and mrs McDonough followed. we sat in the chairs around them.
"Guess I'll be the one come on sing along I know u know the words." connor sang and said.
So I sang along and mrs McDonough seemed to enjoy it too.
"well there U go hope ur feeling better oh and we got a surprise it might be Awkward but it won't hurt the feelings to say no." riley said. toby and connor both looked at a direction where mr McDonough came out from the door wearing a tux.
"Savanna this may sound awkward and all but we know each well at least I know we do and I know u have wanted this so just think of me as another father or Craig and will u be my daughter for the dance?" He was confident I could tell that's were the mcdonough bros got it from.
"I would love too!" It put a big smile on my face.
"YAY!" Mrs McDonough was really happy. "can't u tell he waited for a daughter even tho he loves the boys." she added. We laughed.
