*3rd POV*

Running by all those arid days
Where each day is the same
Sitting alone just one desk too far away from sunlight
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
As if it's quizzing me
Batting an eye lash at that textbook with no answers
Aah

Shoto was bored out of his mind as he looked through the textbook in front of him. It seemed as if day was just repeating itself. He sat one desk away from the windows, his book wasn't challenging at all. He closed his eyes and sighed.

If you wanted to know my grades
I guess I'd say "The same."
I don't know why they make these tests so very easy
While you smiled at me timidly
You sat right next to me
Keeping a grin all while you held closely such a bad grade

Shoto looked at the grade on his latest test, "100%" is what was read. His grades always turned out this way, he wondered why the teachers made the tests so easy. Shoto looked to his left at a classmate who smiled at him awkwardly. It was Eijirou Kirishima, he looked at the test and in bright red was a "56%." Shoto wondered why Kirishima could smile in a scenario like this.

Out beyond the sky, I just can't help but sigh
Maybe it's because I see the world for all it is
"Isn't that too sad? The world is much more fun!"
Back then, you always seemed so glad

Shoto was staring out of the window and sighed, did he feel this way because he saw the dark reality that they lived in? He then saw Kirishima smiling as he held out a paper crane made out of his bad test paper.

I just can't take you

Once again, I can't find a thing that makes me want to remain here
Ringing in a tone that only whispers " You're a cruel and callous fool"
And even then...I know it's kinda true
So even if a miracle occurred and somehow answered all of this
Surely in ten or twenty seconds I could figure just a bit
Even if I die right now I know that I will soon just be replaced
And then again, saying crazy things like that, isn't it just silly?

Shoto held on the wire fence on the roof of the school as he looked down, he couldn't think of reason to stay on this Earth. Even if somehow the answers just appeared before him, he could just figure it out quickly. It's not as if anyone would miss him, he'd just be replaced as soon as he left, that was just the sad reality they lived in. But Shoto's thoughts were broken when he was pulled back, he looked back and saw Kirishima smiling at him.

Flying by those airy days

Shoto found himself again sitting at his desk, doing the same thing as he's done every day before. Though with Kirishima gone he felt uneasy, as if something bad had happened. Shoto then registered the sounds of his classmates around him, he then saw them holding flowers and connected the dots. Something bad had indeed happened.

As I ran through those hazy days
There must have been a change
I couldn't see your tree in the forest of the problems
That shade of your flowing hair
That smile, without a care
It's likely that most of them will forget it in a heartbeat

Shoto was sitting at his desk but he felt...different. He could no longer see Kirishima as one of the many problems he had. Kirishima's hair that was as black as the night sky, his smile that didn't hold a care in the world. Shoto looked at the flowers that sat at Kirishima's desk, his classmates would forget about Kirishima in a flash.

That empty desk I'm by, and out the pane of sky
What is it that I am waiting to be echoed back?
Even though I tried, your words would pass me by
In the end, I didn't solve a thing at all

Shoto found himself looking out of the window near his desk and wondered,

'What was he waiting for?'

Even as he tried to listen to Kirishima's words, they went in one ear and out the other. That's when he realized he hadn't solved anything, so he then got up and rushed out of the room.

By getting just a little closer to you, I think I could find it out
Just so these days would never ever have to end without a doubt
Ringing in a tone that slowly died and will never restart again
And all at once, I know everything is gone

Shoto decided if he could just somehow get closer to Kirishima and figure him out, so that he wouldn't have to be doubtful any longer. He knew now that everything was gone.

She couldn't take it
Living with a heart that only wants to disappear
Keeping her feelings hid behind a smile that stretched from ear to ear
Even when the smile had folded up and died from soaring from the window
Even then, I don't think that I'll forget, such a pretty smile

Shoto realized that Kirishima couldn't live when his heart didn't want to stay. That his true feelings were disguised by him smiling. Although that smile had left from out the window. Shoto looked down at his hand as he held the paper crane made out of Kirishima's bad test, he looked through the wire fence and saw that his ripped up test had been taped and folded into a crane. A single tear fell down his cheek.

Shoto would never forget,

I made Kiri's hair black-well it's original hair color-cause that was when he was in his kind of 'depressed' as a result of not thinking that his quirk was any good.
