Everything Makes Sense

Normal POV
Astrid wandered around the school had till she spotted him, she walked over, he sat against a wall in the shadows, he had is knees up to his chest and his arms hugged them together, and his head rested on his knees, Toothless lay next to him laying comfortably by him,
"Hey" Astrid said softly,
"Hey" Hiccup responded, his voice thick with hurt and sadness,
"Can I sit?" She asked kindly, Hiccup only nodded in response, Astrid sat by him, she took a breath, "Hiccup.. I'm sorry"
"Why? You where only asking" Hiccup said looking down,
"Yes but I was asking too much, you deserve to have your own privacy" Astrid said patting his left leg slightly, she held sucked a breath when she patted the part of his leg that was.. metal. Hiccup sighed hugging his knees into his chest tighter,

Astrid's POV
"I was 6.. when mum left" Hiccup said, my eyes widened, was he opening up to me?
"I don't really understand why she did it, but she did, dad got really depressed, he was hell-bent in love with her and she just-just left him alone with me. My dad..." he looked down again I grabbed his hand and squeezed it reassuringly, he looked at me tears rested in his eyes and he weakly smiled and squeezed my hand back,
"My dad joined the police, he did amazing, made a name for himself, criminals in town feared his very name" he chuckled softly making me smile slightly, "they dubbed him Stoick the Vast" I chuckled at this as did he. He took another deep breath before carrying on, "I was 12 when Drago was in the picture, my dad soon became obsessed with getting him behind bars, he started losing touch with me, missed my races, missed my birthdays" he grimaced, "he became too obsessed." I grimaced too it sounded like his dad was hell-bent on catching Drago, "When I was 14 my dad came in really panicky, he grabbed a suitcase and told me to get only the essentials, didn't say why, just said to do it. We got into the car and my dad tried to start the car.. but the tire was bust"
My breathing hitched this was like something out of a horror movie and the scariest part being that this was real.
"My dad immediately got out the car and got me out, said we needed to go, we kept speed walking until our path was blocked by him."
Hiccup sucked a breathe his hands trembled and he quickly reached for Toothless for comfort, "He just stood there grinning, as though looking into my soul. My dad just tuned away and ran and Drago just stood there and watched, that's when dad said don't stop, basically told me even if he stops I shouldn't.." Hiccup stopped and I grabbed his hand,
"And?" I questioned softly,
"Dad stopped and I ran too far." He said lowly, I felt everything go cold as I put it together,

Found near his son who had been run over

I turned my head slowly over to Hiccups, it was him, it was his dad. Everything made sense now.
