Astrid's POV
"M-Mum?" Hiccup stutters, my eyes widen, what this is Hiccups mother?! Wait... why would Hiccup sound so shocked surely he lives with her... right?
"It's you!" The auburn haired woman smiles and pulls him in a tight hug, I watch Hiccup tense and frown before he shoves her off, "W-What?" She stutters at Hiccup confused at his actions,
"Why are you here?" Hiccup asks sternly, I feel like I'm really missing something here,
"W-Why wouldn't I be here?" The woman asks nervously,
"Oh I don't know..." Hiccup says his voice raising, "maybe the fact that you abandoned me and dad!" Hiccup growled, my eyes widen, wait, Hiccups mother abandoned him and his father, why?
"Oh Hiccup, please I made a mistake I've been looking for you for a year now please give me a chance" Hiccup only glares at her,
"A year? That's it?! Your left like 10 years ago!" Hiccup yells slightly, the woman surprisingly just rolls her eyes,
"Hiccups it's all in the past forget it we can be a family" she grinned, Hiccup moved further back into his seat, "Where's your father" she carried on looking around the park as if he was there, Hiccup suddenly froze I turned to him, his yes full of pen yet coldness,
"Dead" he said bitterly, suddenly the woman's eyes widen,
"What?!"
"Dad's dead!" He said louder now, my eyes widen, his mother abandoned him? His father is dead? Who looks after him?
"What how?!" The woman cries,
"Does it matter?! You abandoned us! WHY SHOULD YOU CARE!?" Hiccup yelled now standing up fists clenched, Toothless suddenly started growling at the woman who is now seems in some state of shock,
"Hiccup I-" she tried,
"NO! You left and your decision caused me and my fathers life to go down the path is has, you know what, dad might not have even died if it wasn't for you!" He growled,
"How is me leaving cause I needed space the reason your father died?" She asked nervously, Hiccup turned to me his eyes rimmed with unshed tears full of pain, anger and grief...
"Goodbye... Valka" he says quietly, "come on Astrid" he says to me now grabbing Toothless' lead, I get up nervously,
"Wait Hiccup, please I-" she begged before stopping as Hiccup raised his right hand dismissing her he walked it the exit, I follow nervously I look back to see the woman standing there in a state of shock looking at Hiccup I gulp and follow him leaving behind the woman... Valka

So what you think, this chapter was sort of rant towards httyd 2 because personally Valkas reasons for leaving where poor, if you like Valka I'm sorry :/
