Chapter 3

"Franz!", sigaw niya sa phone niya.

"W-what? What's the problem, Betty?", Franz groggily said. Halatang nagising ito sa tawag niya.

She wasn't able to get any sleep so she decided to call Franz and confirm that she wants the project.

"I want it.", she firmly said.

"Want what?", takang tanong nito. Mukhang hindi pa rin nagigising ang diwa nito.

"The movie project.", she enthusiastically answered. "I want it but I don't like the last part. I would only take the role if the writer changes the ending.", mariin niyang dagdag.

"What?", hindi makapaniwala nitong sigaw. "Betty, we can't do that. The movie is based on a real historical figure with the events that really happened to him. We can't just change that!"

"But that ending sucks! Why does he need to die?! I don't get it!", inis niyang wika kay Franz habang nakahalukipkip.

"That just how it is. We can't do anything about that.", paliwanag nito sa kaniya. "Teka nga... bakit ba makareact ka ay parang kilalang-kilala mo yung lalake?", dagdag nitong tanong sa kaniya.

"The writing is so good, Franz. The writer formed his character in the script very well! I'm telling you Franz, malaki ang chance na manominate sa iba't-ibang awards ang movie na ito. I know I'm right because I'm always right!", confident niyang sabi dito.

"Wait... you finished the whole script?", di makapaniwalang tanong nito sa kaniya.

"Yes! It's so good Franz! Hindi ko kayang bitawan!", enthusiastic niyang sabi dito.

"Are you gonna take the role?", tanong nito sa kaniya. She can hear him scuffle around his bed. Mukhang tumayo ito dahil narinig niya rin ang footsteps nito.

"Yes but I want to talk to the director. Maybe I can ask him to change the ending.", sabi niya dito.

"Ok. I will contact them later after I get a cup of coffee. I will also book you a ticket in the Philippines. Gusto ka rin kasing makausap ni Direct Percy.", ani nito while typing on his tablet. Rinig niya iyon kaya alam niyang inaasikaso na nito ang ticket niya.

"Ok. Book the earliest possible flight. I want to talk to him before the shooting begins para mas malaki ang chance na mabago ang ending. Bye!", ani niya then ended the call right away.

I need to pack my things.

Knowing Franz in a long time, alam na niyang kaya nito siyang bigyan ng flight schedule for tomorrow.

For the first time in years, she's excited for a movie. Hindi siya mapakali. Kung pwedeng gawin na nila agad-agad ay ok lang sa kaniya.

Her phone suddenly dings and a notification popped up.

It's her flight schedule sent by Franz.

Nice one.

She stepped out of the plane and walked towards her driver.

Natatandaan niya ang mukha nito dahil ito ang driver niya noong artista pa siya dito sa Pilipinas. Hindi niya lang talaga natatandaan ang pangalan nito dahil malilimutin siya sa pangalan.

He took her luggage from her and politely led her the way to the waiting  car.

She can sense the people's gaze on her. Siguro natatandaan siya ng mga ito.

Actually kanina pa sa airplane na may mga chismosang babae na pinag-uusapan siya. Nakasakay sa first class pero daig pa ang mga babae sa kanto kung magchismisan ang mga iyon. Parang hindi alam ang salitang 'bulong'.

Mag-microphone na lang kaya sila para mas malinaw na marinig ko!

Ang mga taong nadadaanan nila ay napapalingon sa kaniya. Some took their phone and started taking pictures or videos of her.

Tsk. Ngayon lang ba nakakita ng maganda ang mga taong ito?

It's either they're taking photos of her because she's so damn beautiful or maybe because they can remember the so-called 'pang-aagaw' niya ng boyfriend ng Philippines Little Sweetheart na mas peke pa sa mga produktong may label na 'Made in China'.

Finally, they were able to get to the car. Hindi naman siya dinumog kaya hindi iyon naging problema.

Kinabit niya ang seatbelt niya at hinintay ang driver na pumasok sa sasakyan dahil nilagay pa nito ang maleta niya sa trunk.

Nang nakapasok na ang driver ay nagseatbelt na ito at pinaandar ang sasakyan.

"Ma'am Betty... instruct po ni Miss Franz na diretso sa San Juan ko po daw kayo dalhin. May na-arrange na daw po siyang accomodations para sa inyo. Naset na rin po daw niya ang schedule para sa meeting niyo with Sir. Percy.", magalang na saad nito sa kaniya.

She didn't say anything pero alam niyang naiintindihan na ng driver niya na ang hindi niya pagsagot ay nangangahulugang ok na siya sa lahat ng sinabi nito.

When they got to the hotel where she's gonna stay in San Juan, the driver opened the door for her and instructed a bellboy to lead her to her hotel room.

The bellboy is gawking at her but she just ignored it because she's not in the mood to be 'mataray'. Marami siyang iniisip. Kailangan niyang makagawa ng mas magandang ending para maconvince niya si Direct Percy na ibahin iyon.

Nang nakaabot na siya sa hotel room niya ay agad siyang humiga sa bed na nandoon. She fished her phone from her pocket because it suddenly rang. Tiningnan niya muna ang caller bago ito sagutin.

Ilang ulit na rin kasing may tumatawag sa phone niya. It's the same guy that kept on sending her flowers and calling her 'mahal ko'. Kapag tumatawag ito ay hindi naman siya kinakausap. Tanging 'mahal ko' ang sasabihin tapos tatahimik na lang. Only his deep breath can be heard usually and it pisses her off. Kung wala itong magawang matino sa buhay ay huwag ang oras niya ang sayangin nito.

Such a weirdo.

"Franz... what?", pagod niyang sagot sa tawag nito.

"Eat your lunch and freshen up. Gustong makipagkita ni Direct Percy sa iyo mamayang hapon.", agad nitong sagot.

"What?! But I just got here! Hindi ba pwedeng matulog muna saglit?", di niya makapaniwalang saad. "Schedule it for tomorrow so that I can rest for a bit!", inis niyang dagdag.

"No, I can't. Direct Percy firmly said na ngayon niya gustong makipagkita sa iyo. If you really wanted to change the movie's ending then try to be in his better side.", tanggi nito sa kaniya.

Napabuntong-hininga na lamang siya at tumayo mula sa pagkakahiga.

"Ok. I'll call room service na lang.", sang-ayon na lamang niya.

She has no choice. Kung gusto niya talagang maiba ang movie ayon sa gusto niya ay dapat maging mabait siya sa director.

Gosh! This is annoying!
