"you're right. it's japanese," mr. yukimura confirmed, pausing the voicemail on allisons phone. "who left this on your phone?"

it was the next day and i found myself standing between isaac and allison in my history class after school, asking kiras dad about the strange voicemails left on allisons phone. stiles was still in the hospital, the nurses and doctors wanting to keep him overnight to examine him and observe him.

"i don't know," allison replied immediately, shaking her head and shrugging. "all the messages are the same and they all say blocked ID."

"can you translate it?" isaac asked from my right, turning to our history teacher.

"mostly," he replied, nodding softly. "the man speaking is giving instructions actually. the first line is, 'all evacuees are required to stay at least ten feet back from outside fences,'" mr. yukimura explained.

"what does that mean? what fences?" i asked in confusion, furrowing my eyebrows as i crossed my arms over my chest.

"the fences surrounding a japanese internment camps during world war II." mr. yukimura answered. allison, isaac and i all share a look, confusion on our faces. "after pearl harbor, japanese americans were rounded up and put in camps. this man is reading instructions to prisoners upon their arrival." mr. yukimura stood straight, handing allison her phone back after turning off the voicemail again.

allisons eyes were wide as she questioned the teacher, "well, where does something like this come from?"

mr. yukimura sighed, shrugging his shoulders. "i have no idea." i let out a sigh, running my hand through my hair. "because it's fake," he added, causing the three of us to look up at him in shock. "it mentions the name of the internment call as 'oak creek'. there was no internment camp named oak creek in california."

i let out a frustrated sigh, sharing a look with the two next to me.

"okay, well, thanks," allison mumbled, heading out of the room with isaac and i following closely behind.

"oh, olivia!" scott called out, staring at me from down the hallway.

"i'll see you guys later," i said, turning back to iaaac and allison. allison nodded, turning and heading down the hallway. isaac stepped closer to me, his arm going around my waist as he pressed a quick kiss to my lips.

"text me, okay?" i nodded in response, sending him a smile before turning and walking towards scott.

"hey, scott. what's up?" i asked once i approached him.

"uh, they're doing tests on stiles all afternoon. i was
going to go there around six to visit. did you want to come?" he asked, staring down at me with hope in his eyes.

i hesitated momentarily before nodding slowly. "sure. why not?"

"okay." scott nodded, a smile placing itself on his lips. "did you need a ride home?"

"no, my mom actually let me borrow her car today. thank you though."

scott nodded in response and i bid my goodbye before walking past him, ready to leave school after a long day.

"hey," scott said as we met with stiles, sheriff stilinski, melissa and the doctor outside of the MRI room. my eyes slowly travelled over stiles' figure, taking in his messy hair and the dark bags under his eyes. he had on a hospital gown along with a pair of grey sweatpants underneath.

stiles smiled at scott softly. "hey." his eyes drifted to mine and his smile grows slightly. "hey, liv."

"hey, stiles," i replied, giving the boy a small smile and pushing away the pit forming in my stomach as best as i could. "how are you doing?"
