CHAPTER EIGHT.

FIONA'S P.O.V

On opening the door I was expecting to see maybe people or at least something but the building was completely empty. We started looking around for any clues that would tell us about the people here before.

I saw a lot of shackles on the walls and blood stains on the floor, this was enough to prove that my people were definitely kept here since their scent was everywhere. I saw Mikhail sniff the air twice and a deep frown appeared on his face, he looked angry.

"Is something wrong?" I asked concerned when I saw him clench and unclench his fists. "Nothing's wrong I'm just disgusted by those who did this, I'm sure they've kidnapped a lot of people" he said with clenched jaws. Although he was right to feel disgusted and angry I couldn't help but think that there was more to his anger than he was letting on.

"Why don't you check those rooms on the left while I check those on the right" I told him mostly because I needed to concentrate on finding their scents, I could already smell my people's scents so there must be another scent here. "What? No what if they're still here and they attack you? We need to stick together" Mikhail said.

Something about they way he said the statement made me think that he knew exactly who was behind this, of course it was just a thought. "Mikhail they're long gone nobody is in here, I need to check the rooms just in case another memory will surface" He looked reluctant to let me go.

He thought it over for a while before he finally agreed. "Fine go check those rooms but if anything happens then yell my name"  "Okay I will, be careful" he smiled widely when I said those words before he disappeared into another hallway.

I walked towards the right and entered the first room I saw. It was Fairly large and I could faintly smell Dragons meaning that people were kept here but I couldn't smell any other thing. I walked Into the next room and it was also empty but it had no scents at all meaning that they didn't use that room. After checking a total of six rooms where I could only smell Dragons or nothing at all I was frustrated with myself.

"No wonder the guards couldn't smell anything" I muttered under my breath. I saw another room but these one was bigger than the others. I immediately rushed towards it, on entering the room I was hit with another scent. It was exactly like the scent I smelt on Mikhail and every other person in the clan.

I would have assumed that they had something to do with the kidnappings but on taking another long whiff I realized that the scent was weird, it was different in the fact that it had a horrible tinge. It  smelt like rotten eggs and dirty water but mixed with a woodsy scent.

The people in the clan all had that woodsy scent but not the rotten scent. It  was definitely the scent of those behind this. This room showed that it had been used a lot. It had chairs, tables and a small t.v in the corner. The worst thing was that all those things had the same rotten smell, I quickly left the room so that I wouldn't vomit all that I had eaten.

I walked back to the entrance of the building before yelling Mikhail's name. He came running to me in a few seconds. "What happened are you hurt? Did you see something?" He asked in a panic filled voice. "Um nothing I just wanted to know if you found anything cause I didn't" I answered back.

"No the rooms are empty and there's nothing in there that can help us track them down" "Okay but since this building is a bit close to your clan do you have any idea who might have been in this building?"  "Uh no I don't, I've never seen anyone here until you mentioned it" Mikhail said.

Maybe it was the fact that I was desperate for answers but I didn't believe him one bit, infact I think he knows something and he's not telling me. I sigh before answering "well let's leave, it's not like staying here will give me any answers" we left the building and drove back to the forest and soon we arrived at the building I've been staying at.

Immediately we entered we met Jace and Mark who started asking questions. "So did you find anything or anyone?" Jace asked but before I could answer Mikhail interrupted "no we didn't, there was absolutely nothing there" he said.

After saying this his eyes seemed to grow foggy and he was silent for a few seconds during which I assumed he was thinking. He finally looked at me and I realized that Jace and Mark didn't ask anymore questions even though I knew that they wanted to.

"So Fiona are you hungry?" Mark asked me.  "Um no I'm not, but I am tired so I think I'll go rest in my room" I told him. "Okay but do you need me to lead the way to your room?" Jace asked. "No I already memorized it so that won't be necessary" "Okay go get some rest Fiona. The guys and I will be in my office getting some work done" Mikhail said signaling for the guys to follow him.

We all went up the stairs but after they entered the office I pretended to go to my room and waited a few minutes before sneaking back to the office. I made sure not to get too close to it and I had to rely on my dragon hearing to listen in on their conversation.

"What? Dude are you sure?" I heard Mark ask. "Yeah Rouges were in that building" Mikhail said in anger. Rouges? I couldn't help but wonder what they meant by Rouges. "Their scent was all over the building and I'm sure they're the ones that have been running the place" Mikhail further explained.

"Does that mean that they're the ones who have been taking people? Why would they do that?" Jace asked. "Yeah Rouges would just have killed people immediately, what was the need to take them hostage? It makes no sense" Mark said.

"I don't know but if it's really them that means they also took Fiona" I heard Mikhail say angrily. "Probably but why did they take her and not kill her and how did she escape without any scratches whatsoever" Jace asked. "I don't know but I'm sure they left after she escaped, I'm sure they knew that the building would be searched and so they left before they could be found" Mikhail said.

"Those filthy Rouges are up to something, they're kidnapping people for a reason and we need to find out why" Mark said angrily. "Yeah and I know exactly who to get information from. I need to talk to Alpha Daniel" Mikhail added. "Are you sure? I mean he's not very trustworthy and he's not really our Ally" Jace countered.

Mikhail sighed "I know but he always has information and that's exactly what we need right now"

  "Yeah the Rouges are planning something and we need to find out what it is, and how Fiona is involved in all this"Mark agreed. Mikhail nodded before answering "as soon as possible and we need to make sure Fiona's comfortable, I'm sure she'll get her memories back with time and then she'll be able to shed more light on this matter". I understood that their conversation was over so I snuck back to my room.

I sat on my bed and thought over everything I heard. Who are the Rouges? What do they want with my people? what do they have to do with the guys?  The guys know more than they're telling me and I was right to think that Mikhail was hiding something from me. At least now I know what it is.

"You forgot the most important question to ask" I heard Alice say. "And what's that?" I asked her. "Can we trust the guys?" She asked me. I thought it over before I replied "I don't know Alice, I don't know"
