Edited:

The cold air began to hit me as I closed the door. Someone left a letter in my room saying that I should be in the study room around three in the afternoon.

The moment I faced the person, I sighed in relief, seeing that it wasn't a criminal of some sort. "I'm very glad you decided to join me, lady Jihyo." He kissed my hand, while I just stood there awkwardly. "Likewise, lord Yoongi."

"I called you here for a specific reason. I heard that my friend, Taehyung told you about his past." He sat down on a chair, signaling me to sit down on one of the chairs.

"What are you trying to say, lord Yoongi?" I bit my lip. Nervousness was slowly surging through my body.

He locked his eyes with mine. A dangerous aura appeared out of a sudden. "I am truly happy for my friend that he found his new light, but I will murder you in any possible painful way if you dare to hurt him. Do you understand?" He spat. His eyes changed color duo his anger. They were a vibrant green.

I snapped out of my trance and nodded repeatedly. "Yes, I understand."

He smiled brightly. "While we're in this topic, I actually have to say something else." He paused. "I couldn't help but notice that two other people are always trying to get your attention." He tried to explain in the kindest way without saying names. However, being my dumb self, I was trying to figure out what he meant.

Yoongi became annoyed as he saw that I was very confused. "The younger brother of Taehyung, Jungkook. Didn't it catch your eye that he always tried to make sure you were safe? Or, that Jimin let you in his rotten heart?" I stayed silent. My eyes widened making my brain alarmed.

Oh god, no.

No, no, no, no...

Have I been playing with their hearts? God help me, I feel like Elena from The Vampire Dairies. That is the worst of the worst.

Could someone just kill me already?

Without hesitation, I sped out of the room. My heart pumped faster as I recalled some moments of both Jimin and Jungkook. I felt like some shit-ass driver just hit me.

Suddenly, I bumped into someone, and it's my lucky day of course, cause Jimin was the one I bumped into. "Oh, Good afternoon Jihyo." He greeted. His facial expression changed as he noticed the look on my face. "Did someone hurt you?" He asked full of concern.

"No, I'm alright, Jimin." I lied. How could I be fine if I played with two fucking hot boys?

"That's good cause I wanted to ask you something. Please accompany me." He led me to the garden we had always sat to talk about different things.

He sat down on the grass. I quickly sat down as well and enjoyed the sunny weather. He turned to me, looking very very seriously. "Eh, listen, I don't need an answer yet, but I have to get this off my chest. The moment I met you, I had a strange feeling about you. You helped me by realizing what I thought of myself was wrong. Jihyo, you're a really kind loving girl. I like you, Jihyo. Not in a friend way, but more. I don't need an answer yet as I said before."

I gulped. My head was spinning more as it did earlier. I felt sad for him. I mean, this is one-sided love we are talking about.

I took his hand and intertwined it with mine. "I'm sorry, I am truly sorry, Jimin, but I don't love you in that way." Jimin's smile turned into a desperate one. "You could still give me a chance, I can change for you. I can become the greatest husband you wish me to be."

"I'm afraid you don't understand. I don't want you to change for me. I don't want you to become the ideal man every girl desires. I just want you to be yourself and I know that being with me will only become toxic." I let go of his hands, but he grabs my wrist as I tried to step away. "Please, please give me a chance to prove myself." His grip tightens, almost cracking my bones.

"Jimin, please let go. You're hurting me." He didn't hear me as he kept pleading to give him a chance. Bruises started to appear on my wrist. The pain got worse and worse as his grip hardened. Tears started to appear in my eyes as I couldn't handle the pain for much longer.

"GODDAMNIT JIMIN, I DON'T LOVE YOU OKAY?! I LOVE SOMEONE ELSE!" His grip immediately loosened.

"I understand." His face was void of emotion. He got up and walked away. I held my wrist in pain, letting myself fall on the ground.

I couldn't process what just happened. I felt extremely bad for him. All I wanted to do was take his pain away, but I can't. I can't force myself to love him when my heart already beats for someone else.

At moments like this, I wish that I wasn't born. It made me feel like I was the source of pain for others.

I wiped my tears and made my way back to the palace. As I walked to the throne room, I hid my wrist behind my back to make sure no one saw it.

A civilian was having a conversation with Taehyung. "Your majesty, I would like to suggest that the poor need to have more privileges." The man bowed before walking back to his group.

My eyebrows furrowed as I tried to understand what is going on. Maybe it's just a meeting or something?

Another man from a random group stepped forward. He had formal clothes on so that must mean he is part of the rich people. "It's not possible to give them more money. We need it for the rich because they can create more products for all of the kingdom." He argued back. The two groups didn't look as happy as they watched each other steps.

Taehyung groaned. All he wanted was to sleep in his room, but this meeting was more important. He couldn't decide what was best for the country. He decided to call his friend Namjoon. He knew that man was smart so hopefully, he could help him with this.

Namjoon thought about the whole situation, but he couldn't help but think of one thing that changed his mind in a second. "I agree with the rich. We need products and most importantly we need money." He smirked at the thought of more and more money.

I couldn't bear to hear more of that bullshit. I stepped forward and decided to speak up.

Very well then-"

"-Wait!"

All eyes focused on me the moment those words left my mouth. I took a deep breath. "I understand that money may be important to the rich, but it's just as important for the poor. Your argument was that you need products, but where do those products come from? The poor. They work hard, and when I say hard, I'm not even exaggerating. They work and work while you party, they clean while you do nothing, and they have children too for god's sake! They are struggling to feed their loved ones." Everyone looked at me as they realized what I was trying to say. I paused for a moment while everyone was quiet.

"You may need your money and that's fine, but they need it more. Look outside for a moment, these people are struggling and doing it on their own without any help. They helped all of you with that festival of yours even though they already have it hard. Wouldn't you be lost if you didn't have any help when you most needed it? Look at them, all alone. Wouldn't you at least try to lend a helping hand? Don't think of yourself this time. Don't be selfish. Think about others for once. This community is going downhill if this keeps happening. I have been to the festival and everyone was laughing, smiling, communicating with each other like they were equal. Like they were friends. Don't you want that every day?"

"If you want that, think about others  for once and that will lead to a better community, money, happiness, and most important of all, a better kingdom."

Everyone except Namjoon and Taehyung started clapping. They were moved by the words of that young woman. It shocked me to see them do this.

Namjoon wasn't happy with what he saw in front of his eyes. He gritted his teeth and walked away to a quieter place.

Taehyung on the other hand was proud of what he saw. I looked into his eyes as he grinned at me. He mouthed me a 'you did well'.

Ms. Jang who stood far away nodded to herself. "Maybe she's ready after all."
