chapter one

(this is my very first book so sorry if it's not good)

I was getting ready for school when I hear my phone buzz. It was a text message from Jack. I just met him and to say he's a pretty cool guy if you ask me but, then again I just met him.

Jack Gilinsky: hey need a ride to school?

after a while of thinking about it I decided hey why the heck not. so I said yes to his offer. soon not long after he texted back saying he'll be here in 20.

I was finally done getting ready, I had about 5 minutes to spare so I head downstairs and grab a snack bar and my lunch which my mom had prepared for and put it in my backpack. I head to the door and grab my boots and put them on. I was wearing dark blue skinny jeans, a white shirt, brown riding boots, an arrow necklace and a white knitted cardigan with my hair wavy.

Jack Gilinsky: I'm outside your house
me: be out in a sec.

I lock my phone put it in my back pocket, grabbing my keys and backpack and saying bye to my mom. I close the door behind me and walk up to jacks car.

"Hey" I say as I get in "Hey y/n" he smiles at me. soon he starts to drive. "you look beautiful today" he quickly looked at me and smiled then back at the road "thank you gilinsky" I smile and blush. after a few minutes of silence Jack broke it by asking me a question "y/n" "yeah?" I say while scrolling through Instagram "why did you move here from New York? not that it's a bad thing but you know just curious"

I stopped to find Jack staring at me while we were at a red light "well.." I continued "my mom got offered a job here and that's it" "oh really?" he asks "yes, she got offered a job and so we came here" it was true except for the part I left out, which was my dad had cheated on my mom and so we left but no way that I was going to tell Jack, not now.

we finally arrived at school and I got off "thanks Jack" I smile and give him a hug "your welcome" he smiles and hugs me back. "see you at lunch?" Jack said "uh, yeah sure" I say. I was going into my first period class when I bump into someone.

I look up to see a boy, shy because we kind of just bumped into each other "oh, uh..sorry" he says as he looks down at me and shyly smiles "it's uh ok" I say awkwardly smiling "you new here?" I ask him breaking the silence

"huh" he says kind of distracted "yes I am...I'm matthew" "hi matthew, I'm y/n" I say smiling "well you can call me matt I prefer it better than my full name" he says scratching the back of his head. "will do, what class are you headed to?" "science room 208" he sighs "hey me too! I'll lead you. If you'd like" I say laughing a little

"well good because I'm kind of lost" I laugh at what he just said and he laughs a bit as well "ok well let's get going, don't want to be late" I smile as I walk a little ahead of him. he follows me and catches me up. we then enter first period and I head to my lab table. I didn't have a partner since my partner left a couple days ago to another school, sadly I really liked her. but looks like Matt will be my partner, I know because everyone else is full. I didn't mind though I'd like to be friends with him he seems like a nice guy.
