Varian X Reader One Shots

The Note

Varian had a crush. Only problem was he was afraid of being rejected. Varian came up with the brilliant idea to tell his crush how he felt via a note.... in Spanish. Great plan, right? At least Varian thought so. Now how to get it to her? Hmm. Varian got the great idea to just slip it underneath her door.

It's a good thing she lived in the castle. Since Varian was the royal engineer, he was there a lot. On his way out, he slipped the note under the door and ran away. He did not want to be caught.

Y/n came back after a day of helping her parents in the kitchen. Her parents were the royal chefs so she got to live in the palace. You were close friends with Rapunzel and Eugene. You were good friends with Varian as well but you wanted to be more than friends.

As you went into your room, you nearly slipped on a piece of paper. You picked it up and read it.

Y/n,

Siempre te he amado desde el día en que nos conocimos, no puedo sacarte de mi mente. No tengo el coraje de decírtelo en la cara, así que estoy escribiendo esta nota.

(God, I hope you can't read Spanish)

Unfortunately, you could not read Spanish but luckily for you, you knew someone who did. You decided to ask him to translate it later because it was late. You went to bed and the next morning one of the first things you did was find the person how could translate the note from Varian.

You asked, "You can. read Spanish, right?"

"Yeah, why?" Responded Eugene

"Well I was hoping. you could translate this note for me"

"Yeah no problem"

You handed the note to Eugene.

Eugene translated, "I've always loved you since the day we met. I can never get you off my mind. I don't have the courage to tell you this to your face so I'm writing this note"

You told him, "Thanks"

You ran out the door. You were overjoyed. Varian felt the same way! You couldn't keep from smiliing. All you could think about was talking to him.

You bumped into someone which caused your head to return from the clouds.

"Sorry about that, Y/n" said Rapunzel.

You told her, "It's fine. Kind of my fault too, I wasn't paying attention"

"What's got you all smiley? Varian?"

Rapunzel knew about your crush on Varian. She was the one who introduced you to him.

You admitted, "Maybe.. okay fine, yes. It is Varian"

"Aww, your crush on him is so cute" commented Rapunzel.

"It's not cute"

"Sure, it isn't"

You left and continued going to Varian.

He was busy in the Demanitus chamber, his new lab since he became the royal engineer. He was very nervous about the note. He really really hoped she couldn't read Spanish. The reason he knew Spanish was because Eugene decided to teach him. Wait, Eugene. What if Y/n asks Eugene what it says?

Varian thought he was doomed. Doomed, he thought! His life was over. Y/n would tell him that she doesn't feel the same and that she just wants to friends.

God, how could he have been so stupid? Obviously she was going to ask Eugene to translate it. He shouldn't have written that note.

You were going down the stairs in the Demanitus chamber. Varian was busy working on something so he didn't notice you come in. You decided it would be funny to scare him.

You snuck up behind him and said, "Boo!"

Varian screamed and turned around. While he was turning around, he accidentally hit in the face. It hurt but it was kind of your fault for scaring him.

Varian said, "Oh my gosh, Y/n. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you. You just scared me and uh reflexes"

You told him, "It's fine. You're not that strong, no offense"

"Eh"

"But you screamed like a little girl. That was hilarious!"

"I did not scream like a little girl!"

Varian spotted the note in your hand. Oh god, now was the time for rejection.

"You totally did. Anyways, I came here to talk to about the note you left" you said.

"I'm not translating it" stated Varian.

"Well it's a good thing I had Eugene translate it for me then"

"Listen, I didn't mean anything I said in that note"

That hurt. That note means he felt the same but if he didn't...

Varian said, ""Unless you know you feel the same"

Oh thank god. He had you worried there for a sec.

You confessed to him, "Varian, I do. I feel the same"

Oh thank god, Varian thought.

You asked, "So what do we do now?"

"I think I have an idea" he answered.

Varian leaned in and kissed you. It felt magical. Like a dream come true

"That was uh good idea" you told Varian.

Thanks to @Sadlonelybish for helping me. She translated the note from English to Spanish and gave me the idea for this one shot and another that I'm considering publishing and am writing. It just deals with mature stuff (not like the old devil's tango mature stuff but other mature and depressing stuff)

But seriously DO I NEED DIALOGUE TAGS FOR STUFF SAID ON THE SHOW? I'm lazy. Maybe I'll just do what I do for songfics. Example

Eugene: Just to be clear because I think it's important, I did not wish for that

Can I just do that? I think I'm just going to do that.
