"Hello? Is this thing on? Girlie, can you hear me??" The distinctive voice of Natalie said through the speakers of your laptop but you couldn't see her yet. Skype could be evil sometimes.

"I can hear you but I can't see you. Can you see me?", you typed to her with a grin. You couldn't wait for her to see what was in the background.

There was some scuffling and mild cursing as Natalie toyed around on her end. Her face appearing on the screen moments later. "There... you should be able to see me now..." she said. "Wait... is that what I think it is?"

You nodded your head vigorously and flailed one of your hands out of the window to prove it. "It is! This is a completely open-air room. No windows!"

"That's so cool! I wish I could have gone to Hawaii with you guys! I bet waking up to the smell of the ocean is amazing." Natalie said with a longing sigh after reading your typed response. "When I get married, you have to send me there."

"Definitely." You responded back with the biggest grin you've ever had on your face. The past few weeks had been a dream. Everything fell perfectly into place and you were wed at a beautiful spot in the Underground with Asgore acting as the ordained minister. With Mettaton's help, you had combined monster and human traditions to create a one of a kind wedding that ended up being broadcast for the world to see. If you weren't so used to being in front of a camera now, it would have been embarrassing to think about. It truly was a glorious day and it was currently the best day you've ever had in your life. Though the honeymoon was quickly becoming a close second. "The locals just love Mettaton and despite it being hot... there isn't any humidity? It's so weird compared to back home. But enough about me, how are things on your end?" With the wedding being about a week ago, you've been out of the loop of what your friends had been up too. Being alone with Mettaton was nice but you still wanted to stay in contact with everyone else.

Natalie smirked. "Awww... miss us already? You'll have to give me all of the deets after I catch you up okay?" She waited until you nodded your head in agreement to continue. "Well, I have nothing but good news. My father is loving the new arm that Alphys designed for him. It's fully functional like a normal hand and he loved how he was able to customize it to look like something out of the Terminator movie."

You silently giggled. "Why did he want to look like a terminator arm?"

"Because he salutes me and says 'I'll be back' whenever he leaves the house." Natalie groaned in annoyance but a grin was plastered on her face. She had been just as excited as her dad was when Alphys approached him about being a tester for one of her prosthetics. The fact that she made sure to work out all the issues and customized it to his liking made it all the better. "Also, BP sent me a message a while back. Well, more like a text." You heard typing on her end as she sent a picture through your chat. "Needless to say, I think he's been enjoying his time off. It made all of that prep work for your absence worth it."

You clicked on the picture and the image of an unmade bed circled in Instagram heart filter emojis popped up making you laugh. Good. That cat deserved that vacation and you were glad you had managed to get Mettaton to approve it during the time of your wedding. The poor guy had been even more overworked as the robot idol had gone into overdrive making content for his shows so that there was something for people to see while you were away. Now he had at least another month's paid leave from work and you were hoping to see him without bags under his eyes. "I see he is making up on lost time. Good for him." you typed out making Natalie laugh.

"Right? Oh! Did you hear about the law that was passed? Asgore got it so attacking a monster randomly is considered a hate crime! That means there should be even less monsters being turned to dust out of malice." Your friend bounced her chair and your mouth dropped open.

"Why is it all of this stuff happened in just a few short weeks? How did I not know about that law? I had been talking to him closely about monster marriage for months!"

"You were working on wedding planning, gurl. It's easy to lose sight of other things when you are planning the biggest day of your life. No one is gonna blame you for that." Natalie stated with a shrug and you couldn't help but feel a little guilty. You would have liked to have been able to say you were there to be a support if needed. "By the way, Alphys sent me an email that I need to forward to you about your SOUL shake stuff. Her research papers on SOULs have been making huge waves among the scientific community. Especially the ones that talk about chronic mental and physical diseases. She's been given a lot of grants to study ways to help cure these things through someone's SOUL. Somehow she got Sans dragged into it. He seems happy about it though. Alphys wanted to discuss your own personal results and things like that when you get back. The email has more details. It also talked about my dad's arm."

"Okay. I'll make sure to read it with Metts later." You responded when a thought hit you. "Oh! Did you save the newspaper that talked about when the school visited the studio?"

"Of COURSE! I have several copies." Natalie laughed again. "Do you realize how funny that article is? I still don't know how that child ended up on the ceiling."

"That's what you get when you inhale a bunch of magic infused helium as a prank... I'm just glad that it was all dealt with in an amicable manner. Some parents would have freaked out." You sent with a heavy sigh. That had been a lawsuit waiting to happen. It was a good thing that there were cameras and the kid was unharmed. That and the parents were very understanding. You didn't think it would have ended as well as it had if the parents had been the crazy type.

"Yeah, but it was the kid's fault. Kids do stupid stuff all the time." There was a ping and Natalie looked at her phone. "Oh! I totally forgot. I'm going to have to go soon. Undyne and Papyrus are having the grand opening of their gym today and I said I would help pass out flyers n stuff."

"Songbird! Our appointment to take us to the beach with black sand is here. Are you ready to go?" Mettaton's voice called from the other room.

You lightly hit the desk twice to notify that you heard him then turned back to the laptop. "Looks like I gotta go too. I'll give you all the details first chance I get."

"Don't forget to get me a souvenir." Natalie said with a playful wink. "See ya!" You waved goodbye and the call was disconnected.

Turning the laptop off, you dashed into the other room where Mettaton stood in a pink hawaiian shirt. "There you are! And here I thought that I lost you."

You couldn't help but smile slyly at him. "You could never lose me, Metts." Your hands signed as you walked right up to him.

"Oh? And how are you so certain?" He asked leaning down so that you were face to face.

You pulled him into a kiss before sending a text to him that said. "Because you are always with me... even when it goes dark."
