The title for Chapter 70 – "Separation" is a surprise. I mean our OTP only have eyes for each other, no financial issues or health issues, they have the blessing of their family, etc, so what could go wrong? Still, if the author is bringing us there, it will be interesting to see what develops.

Su Luo makes an appearance which makes made me very happy! How much do I love thee, let me count the ways.....

Chapter 69: Threatened ('cont)

Qiao Feng calls Lan Shan when his meeting is over and she informs him of his father's visit. Knowing his dad, Qiao Feng can guess the purpose of his visit and did not ask for details. After they have agreed on a meeting place, he hangs up.

While waiting for Lan Shan, Qiao Feng spots Su Luo in the distance. He pretends not to have seen her but she walks up to him nonetheless and starts talking to him. Su Luo likes clothing that makes her resemble an outwardly-fairy and she is dressed in one of her typical shirt and long skirt outfit today. Qiao Feng has never 'get' her dress sense but no matter his opinion, they do make a striking pair and attracted many looks their way.

When she sees him checking his watch, Su Luo asks. "Are you waiting for someone?"

"Umm."

"Are you waiting for Lan Shan?"

"Umm."

A sense of dread descends and she asks carefully." Are you... both... together?"

Like every time someone mentions his girlfriend, Qiao Feng becomes very happy. Earlier today, his colleagues have found out that he has a girlfriend and he feels such a strong sense of achievement at their congratulations and well-wishes. Looking at his smiling face, Su Suo suppresses her dark thoughts and smiles cheerily. "I remember you have very high standards with regards to your girlfriend's intellect and academic qualifications, has that changed?"

Thinking of Lan Shan's dummy look, Qiao Feng smile widen. "I cannot help it. I like her and that is it."

Looking at the handsome man besides her, Su Luo's mind drifts to another time in her youth of beating hearts, pink roses, and bitterness flows over her. "I have never thought that there would be a day when you turn your back on your principles."

"Actually, I think it was my principles that was wrong in the first place and I should have not mixed up feelings with academic qualifications."

"Have you felt nothing for me in the past?"

He shakes his head. "No. See, that is where the problem is. I have used the wrong method in the past so there is no reason to repeat the same mistake on Lan Shan." He sees her sour face and asks. "Is everything ok?"

She looks at him with tears in her eyes. "Have you never loved me? "

He considers the question carefully and confirms that he has never felt for her what he feels for Lan Shan. "No, I have not."

Su Luo raises her voice as her anger soars. "Can't you even lie to me?"

That caught Qiao Feng's curiosity. "Why should I lie?"

This, this nincompoop! He is good-looking, low EQ, rich and dumb. And she actually let such a good catch slip through her fingers? Regret and jealousy is an unpleasant mix and she says coldly. "Indeed, you have no reason to lie."

Qiao Feng nods in agreement. "I think so too."

"Qiao Feng, can you hug me?"

"No."
