Mia POV:

I woke up to Ethan jumping on my bed.  "Morning Mommy."  I couldn't help but smile.  This kid is the light of my life.  No matter what happened in the past I am still so grateful for him.  "Morning baby. You hungry?"  And he just nodded.  He jumped off my bed and tried dragging me out the door.  "Hey, I just need a quick shower first.  Why don't you play in the bedroom for a few minutes while I get ready?"  He huffed and crossed his arms.  "Fine."  My child really had a little attitude sometimes.

I took the quickest shower and put on a pair of shorts and a tank top.  I walked into Ethan's room and he wasn't there.  I started panicking and ran down the stairs.  I walked into the living room and didn't see him but then I heard laughing from the kitchen.  I ran over and my heart stopped.  No, no, this isn't okay.  There was my son with Nathan making breakfast.  They were laughing and having an amazing time.

I took a deep breath and walked in, "what's going on here?"  I asked.  I know you could hear the distaste in my voice but I couldn't help it,  "Hey Mommy, Mr. Nathan is letting me help make breakfast."  I glared at Nathan and then looked at Ethan and smiled.  "Sweetie, I thought you were going to wait in your bedroom until I got ready?"  He huffed "I was bored and Mr.Nathan asked me if I wanted to help."

I couldn't help but scoff.  "Well baby, I don't think Mr.Nathan even knows how to make breakfast."  I saw the eye roll Nathan gave me but then I walked over and grabbed the batter, I instantly saw egg shells inside.  I pulled two out and looked at them both "I rest my point."  Ethan started giggling.  "Yeah dude, you kinda stink at cracking eggs.  Jack never gets eggshells in our breakfast."

Once Ethan said Jack's name Nathan's eyes went hard and he gave me that look, that accusing look that he has no right to give me.  I quickly cleared my throat,  "uhh, Ethan, why don't you go wake up uncle David and Jack.  And I'll make some edible breakfast?"  Ethan instantly laughed but nodded and ran down the hallway.

I dumped out their attempted pancake mix and started grabbing ingredients.  As I was grabbing the flour from the cupboard I felt two hand trapping me in.   Nathan leaned up against my back and then whispered, "so, Jack makes you two breakfast regularly?  Is that after your nights together?"  I was about to snap, I was ready to shove him away and pack our bags and leave, but I couldn't do that to Ethan.  He wanted a weekend at the beach.  So, instead I counted to 5 in my head and once I was calm I turned to Nathan who was so close to my lips.  "Do you have a problem with that?  And I'm sure your girlfriend wouldn't appreciate you so close to your ex."

He just chuckled right by my ear and then kissed me right under my earlobe,  "babe, I don't have a girlfriend and never have since you.  You're my end game, my future wife and my baby mama, maybe it's time you inform your little fuck buddy."

I wanted to slap the shit out of him right then and there but I couldn't cause I heard someone clearing their thought which thank god made Nathan pull away, but I still saw his smirk.  I turned and saw Jack and David.  David walked over and I couldn't miss the shoulder nudge he gave Nathan.  "Hey, you good Mia?"  I just nodded and looked away.  This isn't  the right time, especially with my son in the room.

Luckily Nathan got an urgent business call and couldn't have breakfast with us.  After we were done we decided to get ready and go to the beach.  While we were on the beach my phone rang and it was Gary, "hi Mr. Williams."  "Hello to you too Mia.  So I was wondering if we could spend some time with Ethan like we discussed?"  I could here the nervousness in his voice.  Then I remembered the white party.  I normally would never do this, but I trust Gary, not his wife, but him.  "Actually I was going to call you.  I have a business colleagues event I need to attend tomorrow night and I was hoping you could keep Ethan over night?"

The line paused and I swear it sounded like he let out a sob.  "Gary?"  After another few seconds.  "Sorry, I'm here.  And of course Ethan is more then welcome to spend the night,  thank you Mia.  Thank you so much."  I'm so happy that Gary really wants this.  I want my son to have family around.  Gary has been amazing with Ethan.  Honestly, if it wasn't for his wife I would have initiated more visits, but sadly they're a package deal.  "Okay, how about you send me the address and I can drop him off around 5pm?"  "Perfect, can't wait to see you both tomorrow."  Then we said our good byes.

David was giving me that look which just made me shake my head.  "Don't.  I trust Ethan's grandfather more then a stranger to babysit."  He didn't say anything but his eyes did,  I know what he's thinking. His concern has never been with Gary, just Lois and I agree. "Don't, I'll give Ethan his cell phone so he can call us anytime. He'll be okay for one night." David finally nodded but I could still see the worry in his eye.

We put all that behind us and had so much fun at the beach. While we were headed back to the house my phone rang and it was Benny.

"Hey."

"Hello Mia, are you in the Hamptons?"

"I am, just like I told you I would be." Yeah I May have a hint of sarcasm.

"Well, I was wondering if you are free tonight. I know it's last minute but I was able to get here a day earlier then expected."

I bit my lip. I don't know if this is a good idea but then someone nudged my shoulder with theirs and when I looked up I saw David smiling and nodding like a lunatic.

"Yeah, I think I can make that happen."

"Great! Will your little man be joining? He's more then welcome."

Nope I don't do that, I've only been on 5 dates in 6 years and not one of those men even knew I had a kid. Running into Benny while I was with Ethan was an accident. I don't want Ethan to ever meet a guy I date unless I think it's serious and can go somewhere. In Ethan's mind I am a nun and that's the way it should be.

"Uh, no. Actually my best friend can babysit. Just send me an address and time and I can meet you there."

"I'd be happy to pick you up."

"I appreciate that, but it's not necessary."

"Okay, I'll text you the address. I'll see you tonight."
