I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling oddly peaceful but a little...uncomfortable. My eyes were refusing to open even as my brain tried to process what had woken me up.

I was curled into myself, a heavy arm resting on my stomach, pulling me back to a rock-hard chest. I frowned, trying to peel my eyes open.

That's when the memories came rushing back and I gasped as my eyes flew wide open. Indeed, Xavier was the one sleeping beside me. I looked down and groaned when I realized that I was naked.

I mean, okay, it wasn't like I hadn't enjoyed last night, because I would be totally lying if I said I didn't. It was one of the best experiences of my life, as cheesy as that sounds, it was true. As much as I tried, I could not bring myself to regret the decision I had made.

Xavier had a firm hold on me, as if he was scared to let go even in his sleep. I smiled and traced his face for a bit, before I remembered why I had woken up.

I looked down and realized the reason my stomach was cramping all of a sudden. I groaned softly and carefully hopped out of the bed, trying not to wake Xavier up. Thankfully, the bed hadn't stained. I had woken up just on time. I should have been more aware of my dates.

I shook my head at myself and headed to the bathroom after grabbing a few articles of clothing. I groaned again as the cramps struck worse this time round.

I almost screamed as I realized that I was out of tampons. I really hated myself sometimes. I was never prepared!

I tried to slowly get out of the room and borrow from Eva, but as soon as I opened the door, I was met with a very disheveled and confused looking Xavier leaning against the headboard of my bed.

"What's wrong?" he asked when he saw my expression.

I gave him a sheepish smile, "Um...Mother Nature just decided to visit me! That's it! No big deal," I cringed, not knowing why I was faking such enthusiasm.

He narrowed his eyes at me. "What's. Wrong?" he asked again, pronouncing each word, this time slowly.

"I'm out of tampons," I said, feeling a little shameful. A girl should always be prepared.

He furrowed his eyebrows, "Doesn't your cousin have any?"

"Yes, she does, but she's all the way down the hall and—" Before I could even finish my sentence, Xavier was getting up and pulling on a pair of sweatpants that I had brought for him to sleep in.

"Which room?" he asked, his voice gruff with sleep.

"Third door to your left at the end of the hallway," I told him, extremely surprised to see him leaving the room and heading off in the direction that I had said.

A few minutes later, he was back, holding a bag of tampons in his hand and not feeling the slightest bit uncomfortable.

"Thanks," I said, feeling a little shy as I took the bag from him and returned to the bathroom. When I finally came back to my bedroom, he was leaning against the headboard again, yawning.

He opened up his arms as soon as he saw me and I smiled, wider than ever before. I hopped into his arms and he pulled us down and pulled the duvet over us. He turned me around so I was facing him and started rubbing my back, somehow knowing that it was one of the best remedies for my period cramps.

He buried his face in my neck and breathed in deeply. I could feel the shift of emotions between us and I was now assured that he really did not want to leave but was planning to do it for my sake. For my safety.

I curled up against him and soon, my eyelids were drooping and I was pulled back to dreamland.
