When you choose, you're choosing between having a blessing and having a curse.

Deuteronomy 30:19 New Living Translation (NLT)

19 Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

Man. The bible is scary. Here's another guy with stern words and advice. We are entitled to choosing whatever we want. But we must remember that there's a guy that's involving Heaven and earth as witnesses. So Heaven actually watches and agrees with the earth. There's two options. Life or death? Blessings or curses? Then there's a suggestion. The Bible is too awesome!

I know we loveindependence. That's how come many of us failed to succeed in boarding schools. How we hate to do what we are told! Why shouldn't we have to keep long hair andwear fancy shoes on our uniforms? And why the girls couldn't do make up atleast! How we hate rules and regulations. It's like rules make us disobedient.

Don't drink they say. Don't smoke they say. Don't have sex when you are still young. Don't steal. And the more they say it, the less and less it applies to us. The word of God is different in the sense that we need the word.

1 Corinthians 1:21 New Living Translation (NLT)

21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.

All the guys in the Bible hit certain crossroads with their parishioners. Foolish as it may seem and unwise as it may seem, this same word saves the believing Christians! The gospel is the power of God in saving everyone. Without the word of God, there's no salvation.

Without the word salvation is impossible! Preaching is for the salvation of human kind. All throughout the Bible Jesus actually tells us why He came. He says it all so plainly.

Luke 10:19 New Living Translation (NLT)

19 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save those who are lost.

There's no need to doubt and to confuse ourselves on why Jesus Christ had to come. Why it was necessary for Him to come. We are lost. And we need Jesus. Every one of us needs Jesus. Without Jesus, there is no salvation. Jesus is the word and the word is Jesus. Without the word, there is no salvation. There will never be salvation without preaching of the word of God.
