Chapter 30. Weirder And Weirder

Lydia's POV

"I'm dreaming I have to be." I gasp.

"I'm sorry..." He trails off and sighs as he looks back to the window sadly then back to me. "You're not."

"In that case I'm going to kill you!" I growl jumping for him but he suddenly disappears. "What the fuck?" I ask as I look around my room and find him sitting on my desk his ankles crossed.

"I can explain." He whispers.

"Oh my god..." I trail off.

He stares at me. "This is going to sound crazy Lydi..." He trails off shaking his head. "But I'm not me anymore." He sighs sadly. "I started seeing this girl but I kept it quiet because she asked me to. Before I knew it I was falling for her she was so fucking beautiful. We uh had sex and then she told me what she was. A vampire..." He trails off. "She kept telling me she wanted to spend infinity with me that she was in love with me and I guess... I wasn't sure." He shrugs. "Then I uh went to meet up with her to tell her I didn't want to be what she was. She changed me anyways she was angry with me promised me an eternity of misery. She disappeared and I haven't seen her sense. I've been alone for so long and I missed you Lydi so bad so please-" He begs swallowing hard sounding more emotional then I've ever heard him.

I jump to my feet clearing the distance between my brother and I he breaths a sigh of relief when I embrace him tightly. "Doesn't matter what you are I'll always love you." I promise him. "I'm so happy to see you again and it doesn't matter in what form." 

He pulls away staring gratefully at me. "You aren't scared?" He asks confused. "I won't hurt you I promise I've been drinking animal blood and it's disgusting but it works." He sighs. "It took me a few months to learn to control it around humans I had to be sure I wasn't going to hurt you before I came to see you, now I know I won't it's really mind over matter."

"I'm not scared." I promise him as I cup his cheek staring into his eyes tears filling them. "I'm so happy to see you."

"I made such a stupid mistake trusting her... I can't go out in the sun or touch silver." He rolls his eyes. "Them dumb movies we used to watch are like...real." He mutters. 

"My twin is a vampire." I mutter in disbelief. "And so is my boyfriend."

His head snaps back and he stares at me. "What?" 

"I met this guy Alex who's name is actually Silas, but he's a good guy. I kind of just fell for him and I don't know it's weird I can't explain it." I grunt.

He rolls his eyes. "You always did have a thing for monsters." He teases.

"Oh shut up." I snort.

"It's going to be daylight soon and I'm going to have to leave." He says.

"No don't I'll hide you, you can stay in my closet. I really need to tell Silas about this." I tell him. "He can help you I'm sure." I promise.

He nods. "Okay, are you sure?" 

"Positive." I yawn.

He chuckles. "You better go back to sleep."

I nod in agreement.

"I'll be in your closet. Don't open the door unless it's dark." He says sternly.

"Sure just let me get some clothes out for tomorrow first." I tell him. I disappear into the closet and come back out.

"I knew I could count on you if anyone." He smiles. 

He disappears into the closet shutting the door behind him.

"Night Logan." I whisper knowing he can hear.

"Night Lydia." He says just loud enough for me to hear, I throw the blankets over my head and quickly pass out.

My eyes slowly open and I realize it's Christmas Eve, I can hear loud voices from downstairs and groan turning over burying my face into the pillow.

Then realization hits me and my eyes open wide. "Logan?" I ask.

"Don't you dare open that door Lydia." He chuckles from my closet.

I laugh. "Yeah okay I won't, I need to buy some black curtains." I tell him. "I'm going to talk to Silas soon but mom and dad don't know I've got a boyfriend yet so I don't want to disappear on Christmas Eve. I'll call him later when everyone is asleep."

"Sounds good to me. I found a word search to do to keep me busy, it's boring as fuck in here." He says and laughs.

I laugh to. "I missed you."

"I missed you to, now go get breakfast your stomach is growling." He says. 

"You really can hear everything." I grunt.

"Yeah like a fucking mile away. Mom and dad are doing Christmas this year huh?" He asks. 

"Yeah everyone is coming, must be nice to be you. You get to avoid everyone."  I tease.

"Being a vampire definitely has his perks." He agrees and laughs. 

I laugh to. "Be up later."

"Okay I'll be here." He jokes.

I smile shaking my head, it's so weird but so easy to accept since I already know vampires exist. I'm so angry that this girl changed him against his will took his life from him. Tears begin to build in my eyes but I quickly cringe pushing them back and the thoughts out of my head.

I've now got to go downstairs pretending that my twin brother is dead instead of a vampire that I'm now aiding and abetting in my closet. Shit just gets weirder and weirder.

Christmas Eve lasted a really long time. Instead of telling Silas that Logan is here I just simply asked him to come over that it was very urgent and he agreed.

Logan is sitting on my bed waiting for Silas to get here as I pace the floor then suddenly the wind blows and it's Silas.

He's staring at me horror struck and then to Logan, he swallows hard. "You decided to come back?" Silas asks.

Logan and I are both now staring at Silas in shock and confusion.

Silas looks at me worriedly I see the guilt in his eyes.
