Prompt: Jade and Perrie are in a toxic relationship but no matter what happens and even how deep they go to the rock bottom, they are willing to make it work.

P.S.: Please read the author's note at the end of this one shot!

Jade's POV

Perrie and I have known each other ever since we were in diapers. Our families are very close to each other. We go on trips, vacations, have family dinners together with the whole Edwards and Thirlwall clan. I am glad that our families developed friendship with one another or else, I wouldn't have Perrie by my side.

Perrie and I grew up together and ever since then, we have become inseparable. Perrie is my best friend, my confidant and my human diary. She probably knows me more than I know myself. Same goes to her, I know the story of her life. Her experiences, struggles, how she's being treated at her home, at school and everywhere else.

We tell each other everything --- there are no secrets between us. We were each other's hand to hold when everything gets tough, the voice when we couldn't speak, the ears when no one listens and eyes when we are blinded by negativity. Perrie is my strength, just like how I am to her.

It isn't that hard to understand how Perrie and I became a couple. Yes, you read that right. Perrie and I are together. We have been in a relationship for more than a year now. It really feels good having your best friend become your girlfriend and hopefully, my partner in life.

On the first few months of us dating, nothing much has happened but now, I noticed that something is changing between us. You see, Perrie is an only child. The fact that she is the Edwards families' most beloved possession since she is an only daughter, they wanted her to be such a perfect lady. At some point, they even sent her to an etiquette class to learn all these ladylike stuffs which she couldn't argue about.

Perrie always wanted to please her parents because she believes that one day, when they're proud enough of her, they'll let her do whatever she wants with her life --- which includes being in a public relationship with me. Until now, we are still wondering when will that time come.

I have nothing against Perrie's parents since they also treat me like their child because of how close our families are. They also have nothing against me, I believe but they will surely hate me if they knew that Perrie and I are each other's girlfriends. They wouldn't tolerate us being in a relationship, I just know that because ever since, they have tried to get Perrie with a man who seems to be one of their business friends and I can see that they really like him for her which makes me sad. They would've took Perrie away from me if they would ever know. That's why, we are still caught up in a secret relationship. We wouldn't want to ruin whatever our families have and as to Perrie, I wouldn't want her to be more discriminated and pressured by her family.

I love Perrie --- in fact, too much to the point that I would die for her but this is getting really exhausting and difficult for me physically, mentally and emotionally. It seems like I am just being trapped by our relationship --- and that is the thing that changed between us. It seems like I couldn't say anything about what's happening to us anymore. Perrie used to be always so hopeful. She makes sure that everything that is happening with us is talked out and not just kept in ourselves but now, she seems to be so distant which is bothering and hurting me so much because I don't know what is going on with her or whatever the reason is. She always asks for my consideration and opinion on some things that her parents want her to do because she says that my opinion is what matters the most to her and if I disagree, she will try to negotiate with her parents. But that personality seemed to fade away because of our current situation with her family. Just like now...
