Chapter 29 Pizza night

Chapter 29.

Pizza Night.

Six months after an abandoned bear with no nose was found in a suburban home...

"Abbie! Get the door. It's for you!"

Mam shouted from the kitchen getting the pizzas and spare ribs out off the oven.

"ABBIE!!"

"Coming!"

Moaned Abbie taking her head phones off and putting down her iPad.

She got up off the couch and left her two sisters and Dad in the sitting room glued to the TV.

In the hall she opened the door.

"Hi Ab's am I late."

Smiled Cu Culainn at the door.

"Nope!" Answered Abbie letting him in.

"The next best x star is about to come back on"

" is that Tanta?"

Shouted mum from the kitchen.

"It's me."

Answered Cu Culainn still trying to get used to his new name.

"Where's your aunt Finn?"

She asked carrying a plateful of spare ribs that made Cu Culainn's eyes almost pop out of his head.

"Oh. She's on her way."

Answered Cu Culainn following her, Abbie and the spare ribs into the sitting room.

"-Just bringing Bran for a walk."

"Good I have opened the wine, I need me drinking buddie."

Smiled mum placing the ribs down on the coffee table.

"-Better sit down and grab some ribs. Before these savages eat them all!"

"Thanks!"

Cu Culainn smiled picked up a plate sat beside Abbie and ripped into the ribs.

"How's the hurling going?" Dad asked.

"Good won our last match. Coach says I might be picked for Dublin seniors next year."

Cu Culainn answered through a mouthful of ribs.

"That's fantastic!" Dad said pleased.

"I'd rather play for county Louth" He said.

"Your mad." Dad answered.

"Go get the pizzas."

Mam told dad. He sighed but went anyway.

"I must admit-"

Began Mam sitting on the other couch facing Cu Culainn.

"For a boy who couldn't speak nothing but Irish six months ago. You're english is very good."

"Thanks. Aunt Finn is a good teacher."

Cu Culainn said wiping his mouth.

"Imagine your parents bringing you up only speaking Irish and living up the Dublin mountains without electricity or phones."

Mum said shaking her head in disbelief.

"Southside Hippies."

Sighed Cu Culann shrugging his shoulders.

"Southside Hippies!" Repeated dad smiling coming into the room with two plates of pizza's.

"-That explains a lot."
