Book 2 Chapter 4.

The wicked intruders of Catbads tower.

The dark tower stood between two seas.

On one side the Irish Sea aqua grey wild and beautiful.

Her waves tipped white, gently rolled onto the beach beneath the grey cliffs the tower is built upon.

This sea did not interest the large flocks of sea gulls that gathered from all parts of the coast.

It was the other sea that sent them into a squawking feeding frenzy.

A sea of dead warriors that flooded very inch of the land around the tower.

The smell of death choked the air.

Nothing smells worse than a dead human.

This stench not only brought the seagulls but crows, and the animals from the surrounding fields.

Despite the best efforts of the rats, foxes, badgers,  wolves  and  maggots, nature struggled to reclaim this much death back.

Yet still on the battlefield men continued to slaughter each other.

They fight because war lust has drawn them to the tower.

War lust has drawn them to what lies inside the tower.

Three of the most beautiful women the world has ever seen.

They have taken many men from their wives and family.

They are the war goddesses.

They are the Morrigan.

They are the terror.

They had no interest in the slaughter outside their stolen tower.

All that held their attention was the ritual they were about to perform.

In the round tower.

In it's main round chamber.

They held hands and sat around a wooden round table.

On the table at its centre was an upside down goblet.

"Are you ready my sister Badb!"

Asked Anann the blond .

"I am my sisters." Smiled the dark hair Badb and gently squeezed her other two sisters hands.

Macha the red,  squeezed back a bit harder as was her nature.

Anann  just smiled at Badb.

"Then let the possession begin."

Anann released her hand and used it to turn the goblet the right way up.

She then once more linked hands.

All three looked at the goblet.

A small black shadow appeared on the top of its rim.

The shodow moved.

Now it was plain to see the shadow was a small black spider.

It scampered across the table.

It made its way to Badb.

She did not flinch as it crawled up her arm.

She did not flinch as it crawled all around her face.

She did not flinch as it entered her left ear.

She just closed her eyes and when she opened them again.

They had turned completely black.
