An announcement was made this morning that sometime late tonight into tomorrow morning we'd pass into the Gillispie solar system. I'm excited for this we'll still have to travel for another five years but we're so close now. That is cause for celebration but it was also a warning. Our probes found that entrance to the system is blocked by an asteroid field.

Not just any field by our calculations there used to be two planets on the same trajectory in the same band. But, millions of years ago the two collided. The smaller break into a vast field of rocky asteroids. This is the Titan Belt it acts as guardian to the whole system. There aren't many things I hate in the universe. Asteroids and asteroid fields are at the top of the list. The Corps will be out in full force tonight and tomorrow. We've passed through fields like this before never one this big even the original belts in the Earth System wasn't this big.

Tomorrow is going to be along day.
