Mount Kaliash

Amaterasu was seated on the ground, Lilith carefully watching over her, her protective posture unwavering. For the longest time, almost an hour or so, the Sun Goddess honestly couldn't tell or care.

During that time period, she did nothing but stare with a blank yet sorrowful expression at the ceiling of the grand palace.

As she faced the negative thoughts weighting on her mind, the light in her unnaturally orange eyes had began to dimmer.

An ironic contrast to the lively expressions of the now healed solar deities.

And yes, all those entities who were directly affected by the Sun's destruction were now almost fully recovered thanks to the Phoenix tears, but more importantly - thanks to her little Sun's quick thinking.

But even so, thankful as she was for his good deeds, the mother couldn't help but fall into bitter depression at the dreadful absence of her child.

Near tonelessly, she had tried to ask the spawn of Ophis several questions, most of which regarded Issei's safety.

Unfortunately, the answers this sorrowful mother most sought right now were not given. At the very least, Issei's closest family members were safe.

'At least I will not be alone in mourning him if he never comes back.'

At that moment, the Sun Goddess hated herself. She had doubted her own son, when right now, she knew he was struggling and likely needed hers and the support of others.

Perhaps her brothers weren't so wrong about her after all? Maybe, she really was just as weak-minded as they said.

Grunting lightly, she suppressed the urge to slam her fist into the ground. The situation couldn't have been more dreadful, if she was having thoughts like these.

Determined to find any reliable answers, the Sun Goddess quietly got up and began walking around Shiva's personal palace.

Lilith had insisted to come, but Amaterasu managed to 'lull' her into patiently waiting for her. The price to pay was politely forcing a food deity to attend to her with sweet treats.

Even though her being was completely healed by now, Amaterasu still couldn't help but feel more and more weary with each step she took. Mere walking felt like wading through thick mud for the goddess.

Thank the heavens most deities were well-mannered here and actually tried to assist her a bit in walking.

But as luck would have it, not all deities would turn out to be as good-willed and soon she would realize it.

As for the information she sought, well, there was no such luck.

None knew what was happening, just that the Sun has been destroyed. Some did say that due to the solar deities' quick recovery, the Sun has the chance to be restored and may already have been.

That at least caused Amaterasu's enthusiasm to sparkle.

It wasn't long before she met up with Gaia, a relatively dear friend of hers. She meekly called out to her to grab her attention.

"Gaia! Over here!"

Said Earth goddess turned her head around. Amaterasu frowned as instead of the expected exclamation of joy, there was even more frenzy and concern than before on her facade.

"Ama-chan!" she shouted, rushing towards her. The relief briefly overshadowed the frenzied worry on her face. She brought Amaterasu into a fierce hug, which caused a few of the Sun Goddess' ribs to jolt in pain.
