Panem High ➸ Chapter 30
Finnick's POV
We get round the back just as Katniss has grabbed her bag and is about to walk out of the door.
"Kat, wait!" I shout.
She freezes. "Go!" She says not turning around.
"Kat please! Peeta and Gale are lost without you, don't you see that?" I say. "Just turn around and talk to us"
She sighs and turns round. She's wearing sunglasses.
"See, it's not that bad, just talk to us, we haven't seen you in 2 months!" I say.
She shakes her head.
"Okay then, start by taking those sunglasses off!"
She shakes her head again. "No" she croaks out.
"Why?" Cato asks.
"Because" she croaks.
I see Peeta behind her, he does a motion asking if he should take her sunglasses off. I nod slightly. He goes to walk when Kat speaks up.
"Don't even think about it!" She snaps with her hand up.
He comes round from behind her. "How did you know I was behind you?" Peeta asks.
She shrugs. "I just did" she mumbles.
"Kat please take those sunglasses off, I want to see your beautiful grey eyes" Peeta says.
She shakes her head quickly. I think she senses that. "No"
"Please?" Peeta asks.
She shakes her head again.
"What are you hiding Kat?" I ask.
"Nothing!" She says a bit too fast.
"Liar.." I say.
She sighs. "Fine, I'm lying okay?" She says.
"Then take them off!"
"No, I don't wanna see your reaction" she mumbles.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
She shakes her head.
Cinna walks in. "Kat, come on it's tim-oh hey!" He says.
"Hey" we mumble.
"Kat come on" Kat turns round. His eyes open wide when he sees her.
"Whats wrong with her? She won't take her sunglasses off" Peeta says.
He looks to Katniss. "You'd best tell them now, they want to know"
She sighs and nods then turns round to face us. She takes her glasses off and her eyes are shut.
"Open them, don't be afraid! Your eyes are beautiful" Peeta says.
She opens them.
They aren't the beautiful grey Peeta says they are though.
Their jet black...
