•Red and White are probably "Christmas colors" because of that scripture that says something along the lines of "your sin was red as blood but will be white as snow"
•A star on top of the tree represents the Star of David and an angel on top of the tree represents the angel that spread the word of Jesus' birth.
Also on the subject here's a very rational thing I found that argues that the star was from the Devil (the angels were from God).
