The picture is the closest i could find to what nick actually looks like... =(   It's hard to find a proper picture  of fictional characters, especially when they appear only in my very twisted mind.

***Nick's P.O.V***

The soft patter of rain relaxed me as I ran, my toenails left deep furrows in the dirt, the wind blew through my hair. I slipped through the forest like a bullet. I threw my head back and scented the air, the girl was still running...good for her. I had to get there first, or she was dog food...literally. I launched myself into running faster than I had ever moved before. I heard a terrified whimper as I neared her. This hunt was unjust, she was an innocent. I heaved myself from the brush in her direction landing in a human crouch. "You've got to keep moving." I warned, trying to keep from reverting back to wolf form. I let out a small whimper. "Go!" I growled. My thick black hair spread down my back and chest.

She streaked away from me, as my face elongated into a wolf's muzzle. I gave chase until she stopped at the river bank. I skidded to a halt and ended up knocking her into the icy water, the pack was coming through the trees. I leapt in after her and paddled to the far bank dragging her by the shirt with my teeth. I pulled her out of the water and nudged her with my nose growling. I knew the wolves wouldn't cross the river after her if they thought I had her. I gave chase until we were out of sight then slowed to a trot. She looked back over her shoulder and saw me standing waiting. I whined once and sat, wrapping my tail around my rump and right legs. I purposely turned my head in the opposite direction. I howled to the rest of the pack signaling a lost trail. "You're going to kill me?"

I shook my head and forced myself into human form. "No, I don't kill. I can take you to the road and then I have to hide. My pack will be angry that you escaped. I can't stay like this for much longer, I have to choose one or the other for the time being. At least until I'm rested, you deserve a say in the choice." I offered.

"Why give me a choice? What happens to you if you stay wolf?" She asked suspiciously.

"Nothing for you to concern yourself with." I laughed dryly. She gave me a startled look and glanced up at the sky. "What'll it be...before the moon reappears please, in case you chose me to stick with two legs."

"It would be nice to have someone who can talk back...wolves terrify me now." She admitted her eyes glistening in the darkness. I slipped on a pair of jeans, and stood on my very human legs. I was a good six inches taller than she. The moon reappeared and she gasped aloud. I slouched down slightly and watched her expression.

"The body mass calculations between forms don't work, do they?" I laughed a cold sharp bark. "They say that's the beauty of it...they're idiots!" I snapped. "It's no gift."

"Why the deadline with my decision?" She asked.

"Our clothes don't go with us, I think it would be rather embarrassing..." I trailed off. "I actually do keep in touch with the human lifestyle. I am far from shameless." I watched her think that bit over. I started off at a lope that she easily kept up with. I looked up at the night sky once and then continued in the direction of the road. The howls that echoed through the night made me pause, her eyes widened in fear. I cocked my head to the side to translate.

"They're coming aren't they?" She demanded. I shook my head.

"No they're going human, they believe me. We don't track like this...we can, but we try to retain some sense of normality." I laughed without humor yet again. "Where did Cole find you?" I asked.

"A party, he was cute, he flirted. I didn't know he followed me home. I've been gone for three days, my parents are going to kill me. What's your name?" She asked.
