A/N: So, thanks to Selina_Kyle_Kitty, we have 'ship names' which are: 'DeadPhobia' and 'Lilathan' (Thought I would share this with you all)

After awhile, once Lilah couldn't feel anything at all, she left her brother's corpse behind and kept walking.

One foot in front of the other.

Lilah forced herself to continue walking, she wasn't sure how long exactly she had been walking, just that she needed to find Jonathan and make sure Floyd stayed as far away from her as possible. She had no one else but Jonathan now and she just hoped he'd take her back. As her mind slipped back to Floyd, she felt as though she should have been angry, but she couldn't feel anything. It was just nothing. He'd more than likely not taken the shot as a way to shove it in her face; so she couldn't really blame him. Mercious used to love Floyd all those years ago. She remembered the little boy who used to ride on Floyd's shoulders, giggling. Now, he was dead and it was her own fault.

Staring straight ahead, the darkness seemed to consume everything, she had no idea what time it was, but there was no doubt it was the middle of the night or around there. But, that wasn't her main concern, she had to keep going, she had to find Jonathan. It had been a day since she had been arrested, which, wasn't too bad considering the circumstances, she had only hoped Jonathan hadn't gone off to find a new Mistress of Fear.

"Well, congratulations! I see you made it out alive." Stopping in her tracks, she looked over her shoulder at a strange looking man with brown hair, but that wasn't the strange thing about him. The strange thing about this man was his outfit. For some stupid reason, he had decided to wear a green suit with black question marks on it with a purple tie. Then it hit her, only one person could look that ridiculous and think that they looked good, The Riddler,

"So, we finally meet face to face, Edie." She smirked, turning completely to face the ridiculous man. The anger within her had started to bubble and Lilah prayed it would spill over and make her feel again. The Riddler returned a sly smile,

"So glad you got to catch up with Floyd." His question was an attempt to push a button, but Lilah was stronger than that, she knew when to pick her fights.

"Thank you for the riddle." She replied calmly, The Riddler smirked, clearly unsatisfied that he didn't receive the reaction he intended,

"My, my, would I be right to assume you'll be returning to your beloved Jonathan Crane?" He asked.

"All thanks to you." She smiled, "Now, if that's all you wanted, I'll be going." Lilah finished, turning her back on him. Taking a few steps, she paused, stopping dead in her tracks "How did you know Floyd was going to be there?' She asked. The Riddler chuckled lightly,

"Well, I know far more then you think. Floyd Lawton has been tracking you down for quite awhile." The Riddler informed her, "A year and a half, I do believe. The only reason he didn't find you earlier was because of Carmine Falcone." Turning back to face him, she moved back towards him, her hands balled into fists.

"What are you trying to say?" She asked. The Riddler chuckled,

"Oh? You don't believe that your stepfather would have you protected from the world's greatest assassin; your true love?" He mocked. "He's been holding a grudge since you broke his heart." Lilah took a breath, her eyes flicking up to meet with his,

"I don't believe you." She snapped, after receiving a questioning look from The Riddler, she continued, "Don't take it personally, Edie- I don't trust anyone."

"Not even your beloved Jonathan Crane?" He asked,

"Especially my beloved Jonathan Crane." She snapped back at him. Tilting his head, The Riddler's brow furrowed,

"I think your argument is flawed." Riddler muttered.

"I think your tie is ugly." Lilah replied with a smirk, earning herself a well-deserved glare from The Riddler.

"Believe what you want. It's not hard to determine who is the more intelligent one between the pair of us. Your life isn't difficult to deduce. Everything is revolved around a single person. Jonathan Crane. It does make sense. He made you." He said. Lilah smiled,

"Oh honey, what you and Jonathan Crane don't know about me could fill a book." She hissed, but still, there was nothing inside anymore. So, perhaps in a sick way, Riddler was right.

"Oh? What could you be referring to?" The Riddler muttered sarcastically, "Your father's death? Or, Thomas Eliott? The sweet boy you played with down at the park, too busy planning his revenge on Bruce Wayne to help you escape prison?" Lilah was silent, all of the things he listed were true. But it wasn't the thing she kept secret, not even Mercious knew the thing she hid so deep within herself it seemed like a memory. Only a single person knew, her beloved paternal aunt; Susan. After seeing the look on her face, The Riddler smiled, "You think you're far more clever then you are, don't you?"

"I don't think that at all." Lilah replied lightly, "I know how to hide things. I've spent eight years hiding what means the most to me." There were two things she had spent her life protecting, one of those things- Mercious, was dead. Meaning she had one thing left, one thing she cared about more than life itself and there was no way she was going to let anyone near that. "I've already lost Mercious, so don't think I'm going to tell you anything."

"I'll find out what you're hiding soon enough." The Riddler replied, "I always do. But first thing is first, I have a riddle for you" He said, tilting his head with a malicious smile, Lilah clenched her fist, she was very quickly losing her patience, The Riddler however spoke his riddle "You can have me but cannot hold me, gain me and quickly lose me. If treated with care, I can be great and if betrayed I will break. What am I?" Moving forward, Lilah grabbed The Riddler by his collar, pushing him against a nearby fence with as much force as she could muster, letting out a small groan, The Riddler began laughing lightly,  "They always resort to violence when they know they've lost." He mused, his brown eyes locked with hers. Lilah said nothing, her hands still gripping his collar, looking him up and down she smirked and stepped back. Releasing him from her hold, The Riddler pushed himself away from the fence, readjusting his jacket before tilting his head at her,

"I know you're more intelligent than I am." Lilah said, earning herself a look of surprise from The Riddler, "But, do not think for one second that you can treat me like an idiot. Oh... and by the way." She trailed off, moving closer to The Riddler before whispering, "Your answer is 'Trust'" The Riddler clapped his hands together, causing Lilah to jump slightly,

"I now understand why Dr. Crane went to such efforts to create... you." He smirked, "Farewell, Lilah. I did enjoy our game, but I'm afraid all good things must come to an end." He almost sounded disappointed.

"Finally." Lilah muttered under her breath,

"Perhaps, we will meet again, I will be curious to see just how intelligent Dr. Crane believes himself to be." Pushing past her, The Riddler quickly placed something in her hand before he departed, humming a tune Lilah didn't recognize before he disappeared altogether. Looking down at her hand, she noticed it was a sheet of paper with a green question mark on it. Opening the paper, she read the message,

'You can't hide anything from me. Give my best to Aunt Susan and-" Reading the words, Lilah's heart stopped and her stomach turned, that was impossible. There was no way The Riddler was capable of knowing something like that.

Susan is far more intelligent and stronger than I will ever be. Lilah reminded herself, that was the sole reason, it was placed in her hands, If something goes wrong, she's my best hope.

Once again walking into the night, Lilah placed the sheet in her pocket, she had to concentrate on one thing at a time and the important thing for her to do at this very moment was to return to Jonathan.
