how to find your personal style
- a thread

- don't limit yourself to one specific aesthetic/clothing style:
honestly, this is something i've just learned in 2020 after talking to one of my closest friends about how we both felt this need to "choose" one aesthetic and dress acordingly. but we soon realized that that's not the point of dressing cute and finding an aesthetic/style. everybody has a unique mix of different aesthetics, don't limit yourself to one! if you like the minimalistic aestehtic/clothing style but love vintage patterns and pastel colours don't be afraid to wear them just because they don't fit your overall aestehtic. you only live once, express yourself fully and wear what makes you happy! fashion is about expressing yourself so wear what you like and you feel comfortable in

- go on instagram, pintrest or weheartit and find inspiration

- make a moodboard:
to have a visual representation of what your personal style looks like and just overall what kind of clothing pieces you like, it's great to make a moodboard (wether that means printing pictures and glueing them on paper or making a moodboard online on pintrest, weheartit etc.)

 - declutter your closet and only keep the items you feel comfortable in and that bring you joy

- try to analyse what type of clothes
  you like:
when you know what you like, everything will be much easier. be specific about colours, patterns, aesthetics, materials, certain clothing items. what do you admire on other people? which clothing items in your wardrobe are you actually wearing? what makes you feel confident? get to know what you really like, it's the foundation of your personal style. it looks like such an easy question but answering it can be more difficult than you think. so take your time.

- have a fashion icon and follow people with a similar style on social media to keep inspired:
following people who inspire you is always a good idea - however when it comes to finding your own personal style it is especially important. following people who show you how to style certain colours, patterns or even your favourite clothing items can really upgrade your style - and show you what you like.
