Toby waited nervously. He was sure he wanted to marry Yvonne, or so he thought. At first he was positive but after seeing Spencer for the first time in 3 years. He was being skeptical about. Could it be because he still has feelings for her. His first love? His first real relationship?

Toby's POV

Today is the day. The day I finally propose to Yvonne after dating for 3 years. I was skeptical at first because I finally saw Spencer, and a part of me was still in love with her. Am I still in love with her? I don't know what to think. Gosh why did she have to come back to Rosewood now.

I looked at my watch and its 6:47pm

"Where is Yvonne?" I said to myself.

 As I wait I noticed a young man who looks to be my age pacing around and mumbling to himself and fumbling something from his hand. I wasn't trying to be nosy but I saw a red velvet box and when he opened it there was a big ring inside. Much bigger than the ring I brought. I guess he's going to propose tonight as well. I went over to him so we can talk, maybe we can calm each other down

"Excuse me?" I said coming up to him. The guy looked up and stood up. He has ginger hair, big blue eyes. He's like 3 inches taller than me and was wearing a white button down shirt jeans and a pair of oxfords.

"Yes?" he said

"I noticed you have a engagement ring, proposing  tonight?" I smiled

"Yeah" he nervously laughed "Was it that obvious?" he asked

"Kinda, don't worry I'm doing the same thing to"

"Really?"

"Yup, her name is Yvonne, we've been dating for 2 years" I said

"Oh cool, I've been dating this incredible person for the last 3 years" he said

"Don't be nervous, I'm sure she will say yes, she. Just take a breather. You got this" I said

"Im sorry I didn't get your name, I'm Toby" I said sticking my hand out for a shake

"Hey, I'm Chris" he shakes back. I go back to my spot where I told Yvonne to meet us at. I decided to sit down and order a drink from the bar.

5 minutes later

"Whats taking her so long" I asked looking at my watch. I looked over to where Chris is and I see him stand up and smile. I looked at his direction and when I did, I spit out my drink

There she was

"Spencer?" i said to myself. I couldn't believe it. The guy I spoke to...giving him advice. Hes proposing to my ex? 

I see Spencer hugging him and looking at him smiling, with love in her eyes..the way she used to look at me. He wraps one arm around her as she does the same. He kissed her on the cheek and they headed out the door smiling, and giggling

"Hey, you ready to go?" I turn around and see Yvonne

'"Yeah I'm ready" I said fake smiling. We went out the other way and I looked back to see Spencer and Chris leaving. I turn my attention back to Yvonne and we made our way back home

- the next day

I decided not to propose yesterday because I was so distracted by Spencer. Maybe once Spencer leaves, I'll do it.

I went over to the Grille to get a bite to eat. Yvonne was working and since it was my day off, I wanted to enjoy my day.

When I arrived at the Grille, it was a long line

"Oh great, just what I need" I mumbled

I checked my phone and I have no notifications. I decided to call Caleb and see if he wants to meet up at the Grille.

I waited for 3 rings until he picked up

"Hello?" he said

"Hey man" I smiled

"Oh hey Toby, what's up?"

"Im here at the Grille, do you wanna meet up?"

"I cant. Hanna and I are heading to my parents house for the rest of the day, sorry man" Caleb apologizes

"it's okay man" I said sad "I'll just call Em-

"Can I get a cheeseburger and fries" the familiar voice asked

"Spencer?" I said aloud. The person turned around and it was her 

"Toby?" 

"Caleb I have to call you back" I said hanging up the phone not taking my eyes off her

"Hey" I said

"Hi" she smiles back

"H-How are you?" I asked

"Im great, how are you?" she smiles

"Can I take your order sir? the cashier asked

"Hold that thought" I told Spencer as I ordered "Yeah can I get a Philly Cheese steak, no onions, and a coke, please" I gave the cashier the money and stood on the other side to wait for my food

"Do you want to sit down?" She asked getting her drink pointing at the table

"Sure, sounds good" I said getting my drink as well and walking over to the table and we sat down

"You look amazing" I complimented her

"Thank you, you look great to" she smiles. As she talked I took a look at her hand and saw no ring. Did she say no? Did he even propose?

"So I met Chris last night" I said

"Oh really, where?" she asked

"At the Radley, he seems like a nice guy" I said a little jealous

"Oh Chris is the best, he's so sweet and kind and so supportive" 

"How did you guys meet?" I asked

"Well we met the first day of college, we had classes together and studied together. He saved me from a fire and has always been there"

"You were caught in a fire" my heart dropped

"Yeah we were at a club at night. There was this huge fight and all a sudden a fire started. Everyone was trying to get away and I was pushed to the ground and was knocked out. Next thing I know I woke up in a hospital with Chris by my side and we have been close ever since"

"Why didn't you call me?" 

"We aren't an us anymore, remember" she looked at me sadly

"Congrats on the engagement"  i said changing the subject

"huh what engagement?" she asked

"Didn't Chris propose to you?" 

She starts laughing "OMG Toby, Chris is gay"

"He's what?" I said shockingly

"Yeah Chris is gay. omg I can't believe hes proposing, wait what made you think he was proposing to me?"

"because I saw him with a ring and then you came down acting like the perfect couple" I spat

"Why are you mad for, didn't you say you were proposing to Yvonne.?" she fought back

"I was but you ruined it"

"How did I ruin it, propose to her" she said

I got up from my seat and headed to the back exit with Spencer on my tail

"It's not that easy, so I broke up with her" I whispered yelled

"And why is that?" she asked

I suddenly went over to her and kissed her softly,and when she kissed back, I deepened kiss and she pulled away

"You were jealous, werent you?" she smriked

"Only for you" We kissed again and I lift her up allowing her to wrap her long legs around me and I took her up to the empty apartment I used to live in.
