Takes place 3 years later after Spencer's miscarriage
3 years later.....
Toby's POV
I still live in Rosewood. I was going to live in George Town with Spencer, but she wasn't ready yet. I thought she loves me. I thought we were going to be together forever. After her miscarriage, it scared me to death. Now that I'm back in Rosewood I started a new life with my new girlfriend Stacy (A/N: Yvonne doesnt exist hahaha). I do still miss Spencer a lot. There hasn't been a day when I don't think about her. Sometimes I wished she would just come back here, but she hates Rosewood. She always wanted to live in the big city, or to another place like Italy. but oh well..
(In the Brew)
As I opened the door to the Brew I see Alison walking out.
"Hey Alison" I smiled. She gives me a dirty look
"Cavanaugh" she said. She rolled her eyes and brushed past against me. She's probably mad about me leaving Spencer. I shrugged it off and went inside to get coffee. It was a long line. As I'm waiting on line, there were teens being noisy and playing a lot.
"WOULD YOU PEOPLE CALM THE HELL DOWN" a familiar voice yells. I turned around and I saw the last person I expected to see Spencer Hastings
"Spencer?" I exclaimed. She just looked at me like looking at grass.
"Are you going to order, or are you going to stare at me "she spat . I continued to look at her. Not on purpose but it's so surprising to see her here. She changed, but in a good way. Her hair got longer,she has bangs now. She used to dress preppy but now it's very classy and casual at the same time.
Fine, have it your way" she said. She skipped me and took my coffee and takes a sip.
"oooh" she shudders "Plain black coffee" she said to herself. She headed to the door but I beat her to it, blocking the door
" What are you doing here Spencer" I asked. She looked at me and just brushed past me. She headed to a Matte Black car and drives off. I walked out and followed her.
Ding.
I got a text from my boss Marco. "Listen I'm going to be out tonight, you're in charge" I texted back "I can't something came up" I put my phone back in my pocket and followed Spencer, I wasn't too close and I wasn't too far from her. After 20 minutes of driving we arrived at her barn. I see her get out and go inside the barn. As I was about to get out I see another vehicle come and park. I didn't get a close look at the guy. He was holding white Lillie. Those are Spencer's favorite. I also saw a bag with an Italian label on it. He has her favorite food. Spaghetti, fresh bread, salad and two drinks. "Is that her boyfriend" I said to myself. I decided to wait until he leaves.
2 hours later
"Man how long can a date last" I complained. I was about to give up when I saw the door open and the guy came out. I took a closer look. MARCO? Spencer is dating my boss. When did this happened, how and why? I see him grab her close and kisses her and hugs her tightly. He gets into his car and leaves. As soon as he left I went to Spencer's door.
Knock Knock knock
The door opened
"Did you forget something Detective- OMG Toby" she covers herself up with a red lace robe. "What the hell are you doing here" she yelled. I stepped inside
"You're dating my boss?" I asked angrily
She didn't answer, she just crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. What is her problem? She walked past me and got a glass of water
"Are you gonna answer my question" I asked again. She stopped drinking and placed her cup on the table. "Let me change into something decent" she mumbled
"It's nothing I've seen before Spencer" I called out. She came back and she was in a a big shirt. Probably Marco's.
"Answer me" I yelled
"Yes I'm dating Marco, so what?" she answered
"When did this happen?" I asked calmly
"About 2 1/2 years ago" she said. "After what happened in George Town I needed a night out. My friend from college took me out. I met Marco at a bar. He ordered me a cocktail and we talked and hit if off from there. He comfort me when I was hurting the most" she said
"Comforting you from what" I asked
"You know exactly what Toby, my miscarriage" she sniffed.
"I couldn't handle the pressure of losing our baby" I said. " I had to leave"
"You're always leaving, it's what your best at. the only problem is that you never came back
" Name one time I left you" I argued
"Oh..okay lets take a walk back in memory lane shall we, You left when I found out you were -A, you left when I was on drugs, you left because I lied about the whole thing with Wren. You're always leaving" she yelled " You left when we had that discussion about our life. Goodness Toby, I gave you my all, I loved you so much. Just because I wasn't ready then, it didn't mean I wasn't ready at all. I wanted to have kids with you, I wanted to start a life with you, just not when I was only a SOPHOMORE college Toby. It's too much pressure, balancing a kid, doing all work. You never let me explain. You assumed that I didn't want to start anything. And that wasn't true" she said
"You agreed to the break up as well Spencer" I reminded her
"Only because I loved you Toby, you wanted to stay a cop, I couldn't take that away from you, and you don't like the big city like I do" she cried.
"I wasn't ready then Toby, I wasn't" she cried.
Now I feel like complete crap. I pressured her into something she wasn't ready for just yet. I did this to us, I messed up the relationship. I put my head down in shame
"But I'm ready now to start a life" she said softly. I slowly raised my head up.
"You are?" I asked in shock
"Yes but with Marco, he proposed before he left and also I found out I'm pregnant." she smiled.
My heart shattered into tiny pieces. I completely messed up. After she explained her reasoning for not being ready. I was ready to break up with Stacy and get Spencer back, but it looks like it's too late now. I looked at her hand

" You're the one he's been bragging about to the whole department" I said looking at her ring.
She giggled "Of course he would, he's always doing that" she giggled again. I let her hand go.
"It's getting late. I think you should go" she said
"Will you ever forgive me?" I asked hoping she will
"I don't know if I can. you've done it so many times. but since I'm getting to know God a bit better Yes," she said. I smiled
"But I can never trust you again, go back home with your girlfriend and try not to do to her what you've done to me" she said. My smile dropped. She lightly pushes me out the door and closes it. Leaving me out here
alone.
